Good morning. This will be quick since I am expecting a number of students this morning since I am giving 4 tests.

I am down 1 pound. I am happy but not as happy as last Sat when I was down 2 But I will take a 1 pound loss:banana:

I will post my food from yesterday later this morning. Lots to do. Papers to grade, Lettters of reccomendation to write.

Hope it is a good losing week. We need to win again.

Good luck

Everyone is rejuvenated (or daydreaming?) after a week off team challenges.....so I present to you Team Weekly Challenge #4 …this one focusing again on nutrition!

Here is how it works; below you see a list of ‘tasks’. For the next 7 days you are challenged to complete as many ‘tasks’ as you can. Each one is valued at 5 pts each. During the 7 days of the challenge, keep record of a completed tasks and at the end of the week turn in your final total score to your team captain, or designated teammate. For example, task #1 -- 5 for 5 -- 5 servings of fruits/vegetables for 5 out of 7 days--- this is a one time task and you must complete it entirely to award yourself 5 pts. However, task #5 – Incorporate 2 new whole grain items into your diet this week– is possible to complete this task more than once. Tasks that can be completed multiple times are marked with an *** (note maximum points)

This challenge is on your honor system, be accurate and honest with the points you award yourself. After all, if you cheat you are only cheating yourself from forming healthy eating habits

Eat beans/legumes at three meals this week *** -- (5 pts when you have consumed 3 meals which include a serving of beans/legumes points awarded per meal not amount of servings per meal; max 15 pts; 3 meals = 5 pts; 6 meals = 10 pts; 9 meals = 15 pts) Let's go by the US goverment food pyramid for eligible beans:

Question of the day?
What is the one thing that you have done for yourself in the last week?

Well, I have been shopping a few times...I also went out alone last Thursday to meet with all of my sisters and brothers. It wasn't alone but it was nice to get out and see everyone (out of 7 siblings, 6 were there - my one bro lives too far in VT), even though the meeting was about my Mom who is failing in health and lives alone.

At least you got almost everyone there. I have a sister who ignores the family most of thetime. Ds2 had a ceremony in AUg to celebrate making Eagle Scout. I am still waiting for her RSVP. The only other sister who did not make it was my sister who lives in Delaware. She has her own business and it is fairly new. She doesn't have anyone who she can trust to work on Sat so she couldn't make it. She was so upset that she couldn't make it. My one sister said she sounded like she was going to cry. She did come up the next day and we went to see her at mom's house and showed her some pictures some friends had put on DVD for us by the next day.

I have 4 sisters and a brother and one of the sister's is my twin.

I have to admit, since I'm not a mom, and my husband spoils me rotten, I don't have a hard time finding the time or $$ to do things for myself. That sounds so selfish. I actually get excited when I find things to do for others, so my excitement this week was shopping for Bosses Day. I had so much fun finding special things for three dear Leaders at work.

For me.......nothing special this week...other than stay far away from the Bosses Day spread that we hosted today. I survived without a morsel of food (save two teaspoons of salsa for my tortilla soup I brought from home). THAT'S really doing something for myself, I swear!

:cheer2: Yeah for the Black Team!! :cheer2:
It looks like everyone had a great week! I am happy to report that I am down 2 pounds! Woooo!

Does anyone stand 'different' when you weigh yourself? I noticed that I tend to lift my toes up when I weigh myself..... as if having them in the air will make the scale show a lower number. :rotfl: Just so you know - it doesn't. I weighed myself flat-footed as well.

It's a good thing I weighed this morning.....I just devoured entirely too much pizza. So, after avoiding a giant food frenzy at work today, I bombed tonight. I am my worst on enemy. Back to the elliptical.......

Good Afternoon. Be on the lookout for a new challenge. I don't know when it is going up but it is coming

Haven't written much today. Ds2 texted me this morning that his application to one of the school he applied to has been accepted. It is his #2 choice but at least someone wants him. We are all excited. Now we are just waiting to hear from his 1st choice. THat should be coming soon also.

Off to a Marching Band Festival tonight. Bands just getting together to watch and listen to other bands. NO competition, just good kids having fun doing what they like to do. And no football game to get in the way. "Real athletes play at halftime"

Have a great day.

Hi All!

I guess I am not off to a good start on the challenge since I did not have berries this morning...:confused3 Oh well...:)

Here is the website that I would like to share (for the challenge):

DWLZ.com

This is a great WW type site. Dotti started this website as she and her husband were losing weight. It has a section that lists restaurants and menu items with their point totals. It also has food lists for points and recipes.

Dotti also has journaled her journey. She had a minor set back when she had an illness but she is back on track.

Hope everyone is doing well. I didn't get exercise in today...tomorrow I will work out hard enough for 2 days! ;)

LOVE that website! Dotti's is handy whether you are doing WW or not, imo.

Remember you can berries during a snack as well. :thumbsup2 I just got some great mix at Trader Joe's that has dried cranberries and tart cherries. YUM! Makes a great snack because 1/4 cup takes away my hunger pangs and keeps me going.

So... my website recommendation will be Trader Joe's. I know. I know. You are thinking it's just a grocery site, but actually I am referring to the Reading Room page http://www.traderjoes.com/reading_room.html and the Recipes page http://www.traderjoes.com/recipes.html . The Reading Room page has links to lots of great information about fruits, veggies... lists of gluten free, low sodium, lot fat (etc) products. It gives me an idea of where I can limit or elimination those things from my diet. I love their recipe page because they are quick, easy, and tasty! Also they incorporate things like beans! In fact, I think I might make the Mojito Chicken Cha Cha for dinner this week. :thumbsup2

Good morning Black Team! Anyone have any recommendation for some new whole grain items? I am a little leery about this one. I went overboard on the whole grains during that last challenge which caused some tummy issues.

Stopped at the grocery store last night to get some more fruits and veggies! I also managed to get in 2 meals with beans yesterday. Yum! I like beans! :thumbsup2
