BL3 - Black Team - Week 6

Sorry Dona. I like Jillian and I meant it only as a compliment. You are very inspiring to us here.

I like her, too, and personally, I think that tough act she puts on is a facade. (Is that the correct spelling?) I think she is a big softie but hates that she is so goes to the other extreme sometimes. She seems to tear up so easily. She really seems to care about the people on her team, and she seems to give them her heart and soul.

I have 30 points for the team challenge. Sorry but bubblebaths aren't my thing so they aren't relaxing and I never made it to the library.

Doesn't it figure that after a week of staying the same, I weighed myself this morning to be down 2.5 pounds! I hope that stays with me for the week and grows it a larger (or would that be smaller? ;) ) number. Onward and DOWNward for me!!

Breakfast -
cereal w/skim milk

Lunch
grilled chicken
fresh lettuce, tomato, carrots
whole grain roll

Dinner
more chicken
carrots
fresh raspberries

I should have gotten in another fruit but since it is after 8 pm here, the "kitchen is closed". Not eating after 8 has really helped me. I didn't even realize I was a late night snacker!:confused3

What a day. I just came home from a meeting that I thought would be a disaster and the part that was supposed to be didn't turn out to be. But the part that was supposed to be just a report to the group I had someone attack me about the way I do a volunteer job. My dh and I have been involved with the Boy Scouts in this town for over 15 years. My dh just stopped being Scoutmaster a year ago June but stayed on as an assistant. In the time my dh was really in charge of the troop ( about 4 years as head guy) He had 9 kids make Eagle SCout. We only have a small troop of usually less than 30 Scout so 9 in 4 years is a great accomplishment. I have been in charge of the popcorn sales in the last 3 years and worked on it with my friend for the two years prior. One lady at the meeting tonight was upset that I couldn't meet her Sunday night to give her more popcorn. Then she wanted to meet on Monday morning. Well guess what I had to work!! Tonight she attacked me at the committee meeting. If the job was too much for me maybe she could help. She is the first person who has wanted more popcorn. She also had to be called because she didn't come the original date set to pick up popcorn and when I talked to her she sounded completely out of it and had no idea. She was upset because we weren't doing any blitz sales. I have spent the last two year running around giving Then she had the nerve to call our house after the meeting to ask my dh something about her son's merit badges.

Another lady at the meeting had talked to my dh about the new scoutmaster and I had been told that she was going to blast him. She kept her mouth shut. I couldn't believe it. She was a bigger chicken than I thought.

Food for the day.
Breakfast banana, cup of tea, 140 cal trail bar and 100 cal protein bar
Snack yogurt, wheat germ, flaxseed, blueberries 2 hershey kisses
Lunch small pita, 1 tbls ricotta cheese, 3/4 c roasted veggies, pear
Snack apple
Dinner corn, mashed potatoes and porcipines, tea,
After meeting hot cocoa (sugar, cocoa, and skim milk)

porcipines for those who are curious are meatballs with rice cooked in a beef gravy (an old family recipe) The same meatballs cooked in a sweet and sour sauce are also good.

No exercise for today because my knee was bothering me(Oops, I forgot to take the ibuprophen before I got into bed.) It has been feeling better this evening.

I will post our point total for the team challenge tomorrow. If you have point please let me know I have to tunr them in tomorrow.

Thanks for letting me our team's Jillian. I agree that she has a soft side but she can be pretty rough at time if you are a slacker.

Have a great night. Now I have to go and think of tomorrow question of the day.

 from one Scout mom to another. Our entire patrol is extremely active in the troop but I just love :sad2: when some 'know-it-all" shows up and says the "new" people should get more involved (we are the 'new' people). I guess she doesn't know who handles all of the monthly camping, the spaghetti dinner, the quartermaster, the highway cleanups, the marketing, etc... UGH.

Have a good night's rest. I hope your knee feels better!

Good morning Black Team!!

Here's my food list for yesterday.
Bkfst-Cereal and skim milk
Lunch-Turkey on oat+fiber bread w/ apple and ff vanilla pudding.
Snacks- fiberone bar, and some goldfish.
Dinner-Haddock and corn. Light ice cream for dessert.
Late night snack- 2 granola bars and pack of mini muffins.

The late night snacking is definitely my downfall. I do WW and am still within my points, so tonight I'm going save my dessert to eat while watching tv, and have a cup of tea or cocoa.

Scouts is such a wonderful opportunity for kids. My son will be able to join in next year, and I'll volunteer where I can. I finally have a job where I"m off on weekends and holidays so it will be easier to help out. It's a shame some people can't appreciate all the time and energy volunteers give.

Have a great day!!

Hi everyone!

I've been MIA for the past week thanks to a lovely cold. I finally got to the doctor on Monday, and the antibiotics are working! :cool1:

Everyone is doing such a fantastic job! :cheer2:

Donac, sorry that people can be such colossal pains. Isn't it funny how the ones who complain the most are usually the ones who don't bother to follow directions (ie pick up your popcorn at this time). Geez!

Question of the day: My favorite time of the year is fall...specifically the month of October. I love the smell and feel of the air as summer says goodbye and the cooler winds blow into town. It's not too hot, but not too cold. The leaves are changing colors, and the lawn doesn't need to be mowed every other day. It's perfect weather for attending a football game, and there's a game on TV more nights than not. DH and I met in October 1990, so this time of year is a sentimental favorite as well.

We're leaving for Disney tomorrow afternoon, so I won't be able to contribute to the challenge and weigh-in results (probably a good thing  ) until we get back home on the 23rd.

Keep up the good work!

I just found the new week 6 thread. I didn't lose or gain this week (yeah). I am home sick today so i thought i would catch up with everyone.

My favorite time of year is summer. (i was born the 1st full day of summer-June 22nd). I like the other times of year but when its hot and i can spend time in the sun i am my happiest.

I need to get on track with my eating even though it is better
Breakfast -Coffee i was running late
Lunch- Taco bell cheesy melt
Dinner-Not sure how to spell it so i will just tell you, squash, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and sausage. Ratatoulie(sp) I made it myself after seeing someone make a variation on Top chef. I was great.
Small piece of cake
Glass of milk.

I guess it wasnt that bad after listing it.

Amanda

I should be excercising today or packing for next wed but just dont feel like i can. Did i mention i hate the changing weather hot to cold to hot to cold and rainy. It drives my allergies and sinuses nuts

Let's see what we can do to get back in the winning column for next week.

Good evening. Not too bad of a day. My sinuses have been driving me crazy with this change of weather we are having here in NJ. I woke up at 3 AM coughing from a tickle in the back of my throat. I made it until 12:30 without coughing and then I started in my geometry class. SOme of the kids were laughing about it but I was coughing so hard that I couldn't say anything. THen someone in my calc 1 class gave me a hard time about moving his seat. He was right in front of me and I can't stand to have anyone in front of me who doesn't do his work and he didn't. It was annoying. Oh well all in a day at the high school.

Breakfast tea, fiber one bar, banana
Snack yogurt, wheat germ, flaxseed and blueberries
Lunch pita, ricotta cheese, roasted veggies, pear
Snack tea, 100 cal snack
Dinner small bowl of clam chowder, pita, roasted veggies, 1 hershey kiss
Snack glass of warm milk

I am hoping that tomorrow morning I can start my workout.

Hope everyone has a grreat nigt and keep up the hard work.

Today included:

30 minutes of walking
40 minutes of elliptical

chicken sandwich for breakfast
watermelon for lunch
dinner:
3/4 cup rice
broccoli
three pieces of fried chicken (intended for sweet & sour but I didn't have sauce)
zucchini
snow crab and boiled shrimp

I know I was over on calories, but I didn't indulge in the pizza buffet offered at our office during a bowling outing today, so that made today a success!!!

Good Morning.

I had way too much bad food yesterday, but am hopefully back on track this morning.

bkfst-toast w/ marg, 2 pieces bacon, strawberries.
lunch-turkey sand, yogurt, strawberries.
snacks-4 lorna doones, one fiberone bar
dinner-(Where I bombed) Mcdonalds chicken sandwich and small fry. 17 wwpoints:scared1: and we won a free small mcflurry, so split that with my son.
You would think that would have been enough for the day, but I ate a chocolate chip cookie with ice cream while I watched tv last night.
I didn't get any exercise yesterday or the day before, but will be able to walk today.

Tonight we are going to a high school football game, so I won't have any late night snacking.

I really want to be able to contribute to our numbers next week for a change.

Have a great day!!

ok,

I don't want to get into my diet cause i have strange dietary requirements at the moment but as for exercise:

Wednesday: My gym plans were dashed by an extra-long planning commission hearing. However, My DH and i did do our 2+ mile trek around the neighborhood when i got home.

Thursday: Got dashed again by my DD's baton class...

Friday (today) went to spinning class at 5:45 am :scared1: (yes it was early)this morning followed up by a half hour ab class.

I am running around today...hope all is well with everyone. Here is yesterday's food journal:
