It seems to be the time of year for appliances to give up! DDs birthday today (I wasn't a Disney fan when I had her - it's just coincidence!) and I was just making her cake when the RCB to the house blew. I switched it back on and everything seemed OK.
25 minutes later I went to remove the cake from the oven and it was liquid! I think an element must have blown (and therefore tripped the RCB). Luckily we have a double oven so I finished it off in the small oven but it's as flat as a pancake.
I'll have to get DH to look at the cooker - hopefully we can replace the part (the cooker's 11 years old) I don't want to be buying a new cooker before Christmas.
