Question of the Day - Monday

Do you have any hobbies to help you take your mind off of food?

Seems like my hobby these days is planning a trip to WDW!!! (At the moment it's not a for sure thing, but I'm having fun planning my "hopeful" trip.) I love to read. I have lots of projects I should do...and currently I'm taking a break from cleaning a closet that is out of control!!! :scared1: And then it's on to something else....there's never a shortage of things to do to keep me busy. It's just a matter of keeping myself motivated enough to do them. :)

Question of the Day - Tuesday

Is there any activity that you don't do now that you think you will do when you lose some weight?

((HUGS)) lisaviolet, i'm sorry for your loss. take it moment by moment and make conscious decisions....you are very smart don't sell yourself short ((HUG))

lisaviolet - you'll be ok if you take it one day at a time. Sometimes it's how you handle the week, or two weeks or the stressful event, not how you do in one day. Do what you need to to get through the stress one day at a time.

 to you both.

I'm feeling really low and trying not to do this popcorn:: too much. But also giving myself a break too. Not being too hard on myself. I've extended work out times just for this week - mostly for my mental health - and to counteract any mindless eating.

I had a year, 2005-2006, with many deaths. So I suspect that because I didn't really have the space to fully mourn some of them well this one is bringing up others too.

But thanks for your thoughts. I appreciate it.

Hope everyone is doing well. We should all be so proud of ourselves for being here.

Lisa

Question of the Day - Tuesday

Is there any activity that you don't do now that you think you will do when you lose some weight?

No. And only because I tend to look at this process as now is now. And now is very important.

But time will tell. And that should be interesting.

Hear Ye Hear Ye, the Weightkeeper speaks

Some weeks when I finish my calculations they surprise me. I then recheck everything and then step away for awhile. Well I have stepped away but the numbers still say what they say. Let's take a look.

-------------------Black Team-----Blue Team-----Red Team-----Total
started week---------20-------------24------------26------------70
removed---------------3--------------2-------------5------------10
current-members------17-------------22------------21------------60
not reporting 1 wk------4--------------1-------------6------------11
not reporting 2 wk------2--------------7-------------1------------10
weigh ins for week-----11-------------14------------14------------39

For your information on Week 1 we had 138 participants and 107 weigh ins. Where has everyone gone??? This week I have had to drop a member of Biggest Loser Central (our tireless leaders) for not reporting in for three weeks. WOW! The faithful and hearty on the ones that are left here. Let's stick this out losers!

Now on to the fun.

Red Team Week 8

14 weigh ins
2 gains totaling 4 lbs
3 maintains
9 losses totaling 13.2 lbs
5 removed from challenge with losses totaling 10.2 lbs

Weekly net loss 9.2 lbs
Cumulative net loss 123.8 lbs

Now the real fun begins. Let's look at our Red Team Superstars.

Once again we will include the following disclaimers. If you skip weeks your percentage is adjusted accordingly. If you gained last week and lost this week that affects your percentage. If you lost this week but are still working on losing last weeks gain you are not named a superstar. If you got problems with that PM or email me to gripe about it.

And of course the standard disclaimer. I am human and I make mistakes. I try not to. Believe me I really pour over all this stuff before I post it for you. I strive to be as accurate as possible. If you have a concern please PM or email me.

That's enough blubbering for now. I bet nobody even read it anyway. Here's what you're waiting to see.

We have had a few close weeks but that did not happen this week. One team clearly dominated the numbers this week. Let's see who it was.

The week 8 WISH BL 6 Challenge Biggest Loser Team

#3-The Black Team with a net GAIN for the week and -0.295% (a negative percentage of pounds lost)
To be #1 you would have had to lose an additional 14.4 pounds

#2-The Blue Team also had a net GAIN and -0.259% (a negative percentage)
To be #1 they would have had to lose an additional 17.7 pounds

and now announcing our weekly Biggest Loser Team Champions

#1-The Red Team-0.367%

Congratulations Red. That is three weeks in a row for you Red Team. Sometimes I get frustrated seeing our dismal numbers (mine included). Then I look at the week you have had and remember why I do this. You are making positive changes in your lives. You are working as a team. Keep up the great work.

I was thrilled with adnil530-Linda's enthusiasm this week. She is almost at her goal weight. This challenge has really helped her.

A big part of my motivation is being part of a team. I am a team player. I would be embarrassed to post a gain, I would take that as a failure. I would beat myself up a bit for a maintain. I am well aware of what that extra piece of pizza would do to me, so I put it back.

Thanks for the inspiration Linda. You are proof that it CAN be done and we can help each other along the way.

We only have 5 more weigh ins. There is time to make a difference if you work hard. You are worth the effort. Wouldn't it be great to see your name in colors before this challenge ends? You know what to do and you can do it. Get to work. You can be a superstar!!

Have a healthy day!

Congratulations Linda!!!! YOu are the biggest loser!! Your quote from brenda is very inspiring. I have posted a few gains, and if I had thought of you all right before I overate, maybe I wouldn't have. I've been on track the past 2 weeks, and when the urge comes, I'm going to think of this awesome RED team!! Congratulations everyone!!

Question of the Day - Monday

Do you have any hobbies to help you take your mind off of food?
I like to scrapbooking, and photography. I'm trying to organize all my pics on the computer and get them printed out. I love the digital camera, but I don't print like I used to with film, and I take way more photos now.

Question of the Day - Tuesday

Is there any activity that you don't do now that you think you will do when you lose some weight?
I would like to try jogging, but don't know if I would be able to hack it even if I were at goal. I'm a bit top-heavy, and find running, or jogging painful.

I'm feeling really low and trying not to do this popcorn:: too much. But also giving myself a break too. Not being too hard on myself. I've extended work out times just for this week - mostly for my mental health - and to counteract any mindless eating.

:grouphug: I'm so sorry you are having such a tough time, but very glad to hear you are not being too hard on yourself. Do be patient with yourself and give your heart time to heal. We all turn to food for comfort during sad and painful times. Know that good thoughts and prayers are with you and I hope this sad time passes quickly.

And Ms. Brenda. Yes, we read it all.

I read every last word you write. It's so very entertaining. I especially love the if you've got a gripe PM me. :rotfl: :lmao: ;)
I love Brenda's posts. She really is amazing, and must spend so much of her free time figuring all the numbers out. I have a hard time getting over here and posting more than a couple times a week, and she does all that hard work. We are lucky to have her. Thanks Brenda!! You are the best!!

Blue here behind enemy lines.

I always check out the other team threads after the Official Announcement to see if anyone is B****ing and complaining about me. What a surprise to find your kind words. They meant alot to me and remind me why I am doing this nonsense. DH thinks I'm a freaking lunatic.

I am finally getting back with the program and the scale confirmed that this morning. YIPEE! I wanna be a superstar too! I want to help my team rise to victory. Go Blue!! Can I say that here? I better get out of here quickly while I am still alive.

Have a healthy day!

That is awesome Brenda!! Glad the scale is showing you your hard work, and go BLUE, BLACKand RED!! We can all be superstars!!

Brenda - Thanks so much for all you do. It has to be a tedious task to keep up with this week after week. I appreciate it and look forward to seeing the weekly stats!!!

RED TEAM, WE ARE ON A ROLL!!! "WEIGH" TO GO TEAM!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have to agree about Brenda's posts. I always read them and am continually amazed that she's so willing to do all that work! I'm thrilled that she does it!

Congratulations to everyone who lost - and those who maintained and gained too. This is a journey to be taken one day at a time. Sometimes detours are necessary - no reason to beat ourselves up about them.

I wanted to comment on this. I'm well beyond a bit top heavy. So much so that I'm unwilling to post my bra size, but if you IM me, I'll share. I'm happy to talk to others who really get it - just not so much publicly. Even so, I'm learning to really enjoy running (ok - it's more like jogging), but it took finding a really good bra - and I finally did. I love, love, LOve, LOVE, LOVE this bra. It has made a HUGE difference in my workouts - my comfort, my peace of mind, my abilities to exercise comfortably. I can't say enough about it. Here is a link - you can get it many places, so if you decide to try it, look around for the cheapest price.

I want to ride horses. I've always wanted to see the Canadian Rockies on horseback, unfortunately I weigh to much to ride, at least too much to ride at the commercial horsie places. When I lose the weight I'll be taking a trip out west.

Space Mountain, I love the ride, hate the wait.

Let's exchange ideas about strategies to handle Thanksgiving Day

I am following a low carb diet. With that I can eat all the turkey I want. I can eat salads and veggies too.

I was checking around and found real pumpkin filling is low carb. I won't be able to eat the crust but I can at least have the filling part with some real whip cream.

With all of that I am hoping I won't cheat. My birthday is the day after, so I asked my family if we could skip the cake and just go with the pumpkin pie. I hope we can stick with that plan.

Well, good luck on today's weigh-in. Lets make it 3 weeks in a row.. GO Red!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:
