BL challenge ~ BLUE TEAM ~ wk1

checking in........I've started counting calories today and tracking EVERYTHING that goes in my mouth.

If I've done this for one day, I CAN do it for two days. Will check back tomorrow :)

I LOVE your metaphor regarding erosion/disaster compared to building a landscape. That is so true, and a beautiful metaphor (Is that right ~ a Metaphor?) I am going to the grand canyon next year, and what a neat thing to think about as I loose weight with that vacation in mind.

As far as the popcorn goes, what I decided was to decrease the amount of popcorn to a small popcorn, but still allow the butter. That may be an idea...

Love the popcorn idea. Will try. Won't promise... but will try.

I guess it's a metaphor. It's just something that came to mind. I wanna see pictures of the newer healthier you at the Canyon! :cool1:

I posted earlier about the problem with my dogs. I did get bark collars and an ultrasonic system. I'm glad I've got redundant systems in place. The bark collar has caused a small sore on Matthias's neck, so I am discontinuing use until the sore heals. The instructions indicate this is not uncommon, and I can try again when it gets better. So far I haven't heard anythign else, so I think the measures are working. They are my walking crew, the ones who really get me up and moving, and I can't imagine life without them. Even my Mattie Monkey who knows just how to drive me up the wall sometimes.

Here is a picture of my crew:

Eragon is the brown one and Matthias is the little one.

Hi everyone,

With regards to the stress eating I have a book written by a hypnotist which gives you some ideas hope these help.

Each day look in a mirror and find one positive thing about yourself and keep looking at it and repeating it. This will help focus on the positives.

When you feel you are eating emotionally try and deal with the emotions. If you are feeling sad think about what made you sad and try and fix it or talk about it with some friends.

Finally there is a scale of 1-10 on hunger with 1 being not hungry and 10 being starving to the point you feel sick. You should always eat at around 6 or 7 which is just getting the first sensations from your stomach that it is looking for food. So think about this before you eat and also think about the food your body wants and give it that but eat it slowly chewing each mouthfull and putting your knife and fork down between bites when you are feeling back to a 1 or 2 not hungry then stop eating.

Before you eat anything drink a glass of water and wait 20 mins and see if it fades.

Hope this helps

Hey all! Eating has not been my problem the last couple of days, but working out has. I've been just exhausted and I've had a bit of a cold. That shouldn't be an excuse.:headache:

I WILL get on the treadmill today. :thumbsup2

Morning Gang!!!

Checking in....Last night I made a treat... Sugar free pudding and some natural peanut butter (no sugar no salt) and well ate too much! The scale stayed the same, probably would have been a nice loss if I had not gobbled that down.. Ugg... why are the last 10lbs so hard to get off? :confused3

Convert, Ok, do tell... what is waffle lady??? Baby steps for sure, we can do this. Is that your DS in the pic? He is a cutie! Boy, sending them off to Kindergarten is hard. How does he like it so far? I like how you started a journal here... I think I might have to do that too... again!

Ha! Waffle Lady was the name I was sort of given after I started my blog a few years ago. The title of the blog used to be "In the Mornin', I'm Makin' Waffles" (a tribute to Donkey and Shrek). It has since shrunk to just Makin' Waffles. So my friends have dubbed me the Waffle Lady. Click on through to my blog -- it's in my siggie.

My screen name, Convert, is kind of an interested story. I was a lurker on the DIS for quite some time, then I found a trip report that was fantastic. It was by DWBUG or something like that. I remember he had a VW logo on his profile. Anyway, it was so good that I had to sign up for the DIS so I could post -- so I picked the screenname Convert, since he had converted me from a lurker to a poster. I wonder what happened to him.....

And yes, that is my son in the photo. He's conked out after a day at the MK. That's one of my fave photos of him from WDW. He just looks so innocent. He's so grown up now. I just took him to the bus stop. He loves kindergarten! I'm so proud to see how he is growing. Makes me tear up a bit!

Hi everyone,
Before you eat anything drink a glass of water and wait 20 mins and see if it fades.

I've heard this before too. I think it really works.

Okay, so I worked out again this morning. I feel so good because I know I had to work off those nasty ol' fries from yesterday. I think I can I think I can I think I can I think I can I think I can I think I can :rotfl:

Hi Team,

I have a job interview next week and am really nervous about that but we will see just gotta give it my best.

Hope everything is good your end.

Hi, I’m a late joining Loser but better late than never. My name is Linda and I’m 45 (geez, I don’t see that in print often—it sure sounds old!!). I have been married to a great guy for over 20 years. We have a son (23) and two daughters (22 and 18); we’ve just sent the baby off to college so are new to empty nest. I work full time in a law firm for a very fast paced lawyer; so life is busy. According to the medical charts, I have around 80 pounds to lose but would be happy with 50—or 10 !!! I’ve done weight watchers and numerous other programs. I know what to do and what I should eat but I don’t. I’m not currently on any particular program so I will be doing this on my own by counting calories and moving more. I found this challenge by visiting the cruise pages (I tend to be a reader not a writer). I decided to give the challenge a shot. We are going on our second cruise in January 2009 and like I say before ever vacation “this time I’ll be skinnier.” I guess rather than just saying it, it’s time to do something. I’m also trying to stay positive rather than saying “the cruise is only 4 months away so there’s no sense trying now.” I know I won’t lose 80 lb but I can lose something!!! Have not been very motivated to exercise and I know that’s the biggest factor in losing. I have to get my head in the game but do find it hard to do so really hoping this challenge will help. I will do my best to post frequently but I do tend to read the posts more than respond to them—I guess it’s a “getting comfortable” sort of thing. I started reading all the posts so I could get to know the team but had duty calls after reading 3 pages…will catch up later. Thanks for including me in the Blue Team !!!

Convert , thanks for the explanation of "waffle lady". too cute! I wonder about posters that aren't here anymore either too...

Sparky47 , so glad you are part of the blue team!!! Please keep posting, it is amazing how much of a difference it makes. You are part of this team, and please feel comfortable, as we are all in the same boat. Speaking of boats.... Dianatlol , great pics! Your DD is beatiful! And the dog is cute, and you are one gorgeous mama! Is the pic of your DD from the first day of school? It looks really cute!

I am checking in... Crazy day here, I am going to have to put into practice BellyBee's ideas on stress eating...:headache: Not sure what the scale is going to say, but I am not giving up! almost 4 weeks to our WDW trip, and I want to loose more weight before we go!::yes::

So tomorrow is the big day. Weigh in #1. I think I did OK and am hoping that everyone on the blue team had a great week.

Go blue team!! :cheer2:

I had my WI today and was down 1.2! I wasn't sure what to expect because I haven't really been counting points, plus I've been ravenous all day, so I had a few unplanned snacks.

Checking in........good morning all! So I've counted my calories for two days now!!! Yes, two days IN A ROW! :cool1:

OK, i've done two days so I can do three days :wizard:

Hi all,

Arrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here I've been watching what I eat this week. Haven't been good all the time but it's at least been on my mind. And I've been working out the last few days. And I've been drinking water. And I gained 2 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1:

Okay... rationalization time. I used a different scale and that may have something to do with it. And I weighed at a different time of day. Last week I weighed in the evening but today it was around 9:30 AM. So maybe those two things had something to do with it.

But it's so discouraging.

Sorry to let you down team.

Yes that is her first day of Second grade... She is growing up so fast. Thank you for the compliments, makes ya feel good when you haven't been the best and the scale shows it! But it is slowly coming down.

Trying weighing first thing in the AM after you potty.. you are at your lightest weight. And keep the same times when you weigh. Your body can fluctuate up to 7lbs in a day!
