If you are doing the mini challenge, how are you doing? What new food, or recipee did you try? Did you like it? Did it inspire you to try a few new things?

We now also have our COW (challenge of the Week) between teams up and running, the challenge is on this thread... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1971405 It should be a great challenge! Lets see what we can do to get healthier as we go this week. Good luck Blue, I know we can rock the challenge! :cool1:

As we enter week 4, what are you doing to stay motivated? Share your tips and strategies.

Here's hoping that everyone has a magical, losing week!

Way to go BLUE!

Good Morning Blue Team:cheer2: :cheer2:

What keeping me motivated...my husband. I had a horrible day on Wednesday lots of 1/2 moon cakes and McDonalds. When I finally had a chance to sit down to watch tv wednesday night dh was watching some kind of documentary on some guy who ate MacDonalds for 30 days....:scared1: :scared1: I wanted to turn it over but no way...what a eye opener for me...I doubt I will ever go to Mac Donalds again...

I am down -1pound...170 now...so going to work hard to get in the 160's for next week...over all I had a good week but did have a really bad food day on Wednesday. I will check out the challenge this week.

I did try a new recipe this week it was chicken, veggies on whole wheat noodles in a low sodium cream of celery sauce...it was yucky...I didn't like the sauce at all.

Have a great week everyone:cheer2:

Tonight I am making Riced Bread sticks. Cauliflower, mixed with egg and cheese, chopped up really tiny, spread on a cookie sheet in the oven for 20 minutes. Then take out slice, and place under the broiler wth cheese and garlic salt... YYUUUUUUMMMMM

I have been getting in almost 100oz of water and getting in more walking!

Good morning Blue Team....week 4, WOW.

I was down 3 pds this week. What's keeping me motivated - I really want to be able to wear some of my Disney shirts that are like new when we go down the Sat after Thanksgiving.

The COW's I think I can handle this week...I do need to get my pedometer today, the one I had changed the battery in died (guess it was more than the battery:confused3 ). 6K a day might be difficult, but I will give it my all. Off to take the realage test now.

Let's keep up the great work Blue Team, resist those temptations and remember that we are getting healthy one day at a time!!

I gained this week. :headache:

But today is a new day and to stay motivated this week I am going to reward myself next week if I lose at least 2 lbs with a manicure. Believe me I need one really bad.

I'll check back later.

Sabrina

Finally a loss that I like - down 2.4 this week and thrilled about it! Escpecially after a slight gain last week....and this week is TOM, so I expected another gain

I am wearing my pedometer and hope to do well on the challenge this week. Have a great day! :goodvibes

Good morning everyone. I have been in Washington DC most of this week, so I was a little concerned about what my weight was going to be. I got on the scales this morning and I stayed the same. I'm okay with that. Sitting in meeting rooms all week with snacks and food all around, I tried to make good choices. At night we would go sight seeing, so I got some walking in there. Anyway, I'm glad to be home. I missed my Blue Team - reading your stories keeps me motivated!

Thank you to all the fellow Blue Teamers who helped me get through my blah week. Your support really helped pick me up. It's a new "week" and this week is going to be great..I just know it.

I ended up losing 2 lbs this week and that will definitely help my attitude! I put on my pedometer and filled up my water mug so I'm ready to begin COW.

thanks again everyone! I am sooooo glad I decided to join this weightloss challenge and am thrilled to be on the blue team!

I've been a little quiet on here, but I am down another pound this week! :cool1: I've been walking 5-6 times a week at night or in the morning and it's done WONDERS for my state of mind as well as my health. I just love my walks!

Go BLUE!!

I'm not sure how to count this week since I gained last week.

So If I subtract the WI from 2 weeks ago from this week I lost 1.6. If I subtract last week's I lost 3.4.

Either way - I'm super happy with catching up and losing another 1.6 this week. Total since we started I've lost 5.4 -WOO HOO!!

It feels so good to be in control. Today I'm meeting friends for lunch and I've already picked what I'm having and recorded the calories at Sparkpeople. I'm having a pita (instead of wrap-less points) with grilled chicken, lettuce, feta cheese, olives and roasted red peppers. It comes with a very tiny bag of chips that most likely I will throw away - but even if I do have they are only about 100-150 calories, so It wouldnt' be the end of the world.

Sunday is my son's 11th birthday and he wants to go to Chuck E Cheese. I've looked up their nutritional information and I've already logged the calories for 3 slices of veggie pizza (thank goodness my family will eat veggie pizza). I'll bring water just in case they don't have plain brewed iced tea. Each slice was only 264, so for all 3 I'm just under 800. I can definately work that into my allowance and it will still be considered being OP. I have to find out what our plan for tomorrow is because he has a football game at 12pm and has to be there at 10:30am. We will have to leave an hour prior to that -so it leaves a lot of hours out of the house without food. I think my DH also mentioned going shopping to get Ryan some more warmer shirts since the weather is changing quickly.

Just have to take it one day, one event at a time - I can do it!

What am I doing to stay motivated: Trying to keep my Vegas and Disney trips in my head and how great it will feel to reach a comfortable weight and actually be able to put on my jeans and shorts I can't fit in to anymore. I'm listening to Jillian Michael's podcasts of her radio show to get motivated and of course watching Biggest loser.

QOTD Friday: Yesterday you told us your biggets challenge to weight loss. Today, tell us what you could do to make it easier.

As I explained on the other thread, last night was horrible night. I'm determined to make today better. I'm going to see my doctor this afternoon, so hopefully we can get things figured out.

I'm down 2.2 this week - I hit the 170's - YAH:yay:

QOTD - What makes it easier for me is if I plan out my evening meals for the week - including those nights when I know we are rushed and busy - and shop/prep for it on Sunday. I have stayed OP every day because I made it easier for myself to be successful - I didn't have to decide what was for dinner when everyone is hungry. Other things are to well stock my fridge with lots of fruits and veggies and prep them on Sunday too. (Wash them, cut them up - etc.)

Have a great week everyone!

Lisa

One challenge down....

I did the Real Age survey. It's a little scary answering all those questions wondering how old you really are. I have some work to do to bring my "real age" closer to my REAL AGE! But it wasn't as bad as I was thinking it would be. The survey calculates me to be 1.4 yrs older than I am. I really thought it would be much older.

QOTD: I need to plan better. I know that if I plan my meals it's easier to stick to them.

Hope everyone else is doing well right before the weekend. :)

Hi Blue Team!
I was gone all last week for work. I gain 1/2 lb while I was traveling. As someone else said, not too bad for sitting in a conference room all day.

I need to re-focus this week and up my exercise. My goal is to walk 10,000 steps per day.

Donna

QOTD Friday: Yesterday you told us your biggets challenge to weight loss. Today, tell us what you could do to make it easier.

My biggest challenge was the little "events" that get in your way. I can make it easier by planning. Using Sparkpeople to plan my day around the event, using menu's and websites to view and plan, making and taking a dish or two to an event, making or buying some portable snacks for those days I am out all day and not able eat or snack at home.

Well I had another good week and stayed OP and exercised- I could have done better with more water, but my meals were pretty nutritious. With the large amount I have to lose, my body was obviously ready for some serious lifestyle changes. I just got to put the 10 pound wish ribbon on my signature!

Holidays will be tough for me- planning meals in advance, staying busy and avoiding mindless eating will be essential. I like to keep a bunch of different flavor sugarless gums to keep my tastebuds happy. I like to eat soups when the weather starts turning cooler and I have a taste for a salty snack.

The blue team is really working hard- I am very impressed and motivated by you ALL! Thanks!!!:flower3:

What I could do to make weight loss easier? I'd like to say I could force my family to throw out all the unhealthy stuff, but that's never going to go over. I guess the only thing i can do is to keep trying out new recipes and bringing my food to the office 4x a week for lunch. And to do that, I'll keep cooking on Saturday or Sunday. I should also put it in serving sized containers (or at least 2 servings if I've decided that's what I can allot myself) so I don't mess up again. Guess I'll be getting a few more containers at Wallyworld.

Speaking of bringing food to the office, I tried two new chicken recipes this week. For one of them I used ground turkey since I couldn't find any ground chicken. But it was really good... ground chicken and rice and peas and greena and red peppers and onions and fat free cream of mushroom. It was quite yummy!!!

I'm not sure i'm ever going to get to 10K steps a day. How am I supposed to wear this pedometer anyway? It seems to make a difference as to whether it's more towards the front of my jeans or the side.

Gotta get back to work. Just wanted to come and say hi to my teammates!

Howdy Blue Team!
I am down 1 pound this week...slow progress but progress just the same!
I have increased my walking and feel so much better now that I am back in an exercise routine!
I did have a close encounter with brownies this week, so it is a good thing I had increased my exercise!

QOTD - I too need to plan out what I am having and make sure I get good healthy snacks in the house! I went grocery shopping this morning and so I should NOT have anymore close encounters with brownies this coming wee!
Looking forward to completing the COW...is that a great acronym or what!?!

Hang in there folks...do not beat yourselves up if you have a bad day/week. Just begin again...this is a marathon, not a sprint, and how amazing is it to have all these supportive folks in the same situation!

:grouphug:

QOTD Friday: Planning a little bit more, especially our lunches would help. Plus, I have got to get moving more.

I tried two new chicken recipes this week. For one of them I used ground turkey since I couldn't find any ground chicken. But it was really good... ground chicken and rice and peas and greena and red peppers and onions and fat free cream of mushroom. It was quite yummy!!!.

Would love it if you would share the recipes, we are needing some new healthier choices to make too.

Keep up the great work Blue Team...even if you have an off day, remember that each day is a new one, keep a positive attitude and have faith in yourself.

COW challenge: I took the realage quiz - didn't like the results but am already helping to make the number change by losing weight and eating healthier; have already gotten my water in (but will keep drinking) and have written my letter to myself (had a good talk to me). Will try to get the pedometer tonight so I can work on my steps tomorrow.

I took the real Age quiz and came up 3 years older than I really am. Was hoping for closer to my actual age but I do realize I need to get more fruits and veggies into my diet as well as taking my vitamins more regularly! I am looking forward to writing the letter to myself...am composing it in my head as we "speak"!
Take good care everyone!
