IS the whole world asleep? I thought I would be the last to post for the new week and I am the first. What is this?

Please make sure to weigh in today and PM your weight and what team you are on to dare2dream or email to brenda@kbelectric.biz. If using email please also include your DIS screen name.
* When reporting state your weight in pounds ie xxx pounds. You may use
1/10 of pounds if you would like ie xxx.x pounds.

Also don't forget to send in your COW points to Raenstoirm today also.

Question of the Day
What is your favorite healthy/low cal/'on plan' cold weather recipe/food?

I try to eat some low cal soups for lunch.

Well I just got a chance to weigh in and I am up a pound. I was up almost 3 on Monday so I think 1 is okay.

Good Luck everyone else.

I am up again this week, so for those keeping track, I am actually UP since this challenge started. I stared seeing a weight loss specialist this week, so we will see how that goes. I am cautiously optimistic.

I've stayed the same for the past couple of weeks. I have been SO busy and stressed out that I can't take good care of myself which includes healthy meals. :headache:

So far it doesn't look good for our team. I'm up this week too! Halloween and the going away party we had for my son's friend did me in. Otherwise it's been a good week for me. I exercised hard! In fact, I hurt myself yesterday. I did a new class to get some points for this week's challenge. It was a cardio combo class I've never done before. I was the youngest by ten or more years, and the heaviest by 30 pounds. I worked so hard to keep up with them that I pulled my back out!!! :lmao:

I went to a different chiropractor since the one I work with was at a health fair. I had pain burning down my leg into my foot. I could move fine and didn't have a problem doing any of my daily activities, but I was concerned about going to the gym this morning and working my legs with my fitness trainer. The chiro said it is from my low back area and gave me exercises and things to do, but told me to stay away from the gym for atleast 2 weeks!!!!! No Way!!!! I feel better today and will wait until Tuesday. If I'm still doing good I will get back to the gym. I'm addicted!!!!

I hope that my weight gain is from my TOM. Since I've had my ablation a yr and a half ago I can't keep up with when I'm due. If I have a big loss next week that will be my answer.

For the QOTD- I don't have any 'zone' meals for winter yet. This weekend I plan to look up some crock pot recipes that are on the 'zone'. I love coming home to the smell of dinner already cooked!!!

Have a great week!!

Happy Friday everyone!! I haven't posted in almost a week as I've had the week off from work so I'm not nearly on the computer as much. I hope everyone had a good week and is ready for the weekend, I know I am! My boyfriend and I are going to a 6 acre corn maze tomorrow! I guess it takes almost 2 hours to get through so it should be fun!

I'm happy to report I'm down 1.2 lbs this week! I'm sorry to hear we've had some gains, it's ok though, don't get discouraged!!! This new week will be a better week for all of us!

heart4pooh - Sorry to hear you pulled your back out! GEESH!! If you feel up to going to the gym, even though your doc said no for two weeks, make sure you just walk on the treadmill and not do anything too strenuous! You don't want to put too much stress on your back before it's fully better!

Raenstoirm - stay optimistic definitely and never give up! :goodvibes

donac - being up 1 pound is definitely better than 3 pounds! That change though could just be water weight though! Keep your head up!

Have a great rest of Friday night everyone! :thumbsup2

Good Saturday morning. I am sitting here with my smoothie and have some of the rest of the day's food planned out. I am quilting a quilt I hope to give away at Christmas so I will be busy most of the day. I can't eat while I quilt.

Raenstoirm Sorry to hear that you are up. Keep at it like you have been doing.

Jazzygirl72 Sorry that you have been stressed out. That does not help your health at all. I know that is part of my problem. Just when I think I am feeling better I get a stabing pain in my back or stomach from the shingles. Even with the medication. My mom called up and said I should be getting something in the mail. It is a cream called SHINGLES and is supposed to help with the pain. ONly my mother would find a cream like that.

heart4pooh SOrry to hear about your back. Keep moving but don't do too much you don't need a permanent problem. Good luck going to the chiropractor.

crunkyjens Congrats on the loss and the kind words for the rest of the group.

Did you turn in your weight and your COW points. PLease do so as soon as you can.

HAve a great weekend. ONly 5 weeks until the last weigh in. Let's make a GREAT 5 weeks.

Good Monday Morning How is everyone doing? Yesterday was pretty quiet for me. Just church and then somethings around the house before we took ds2 back to college. We won't have to make that trip again until the Wed before Thanksgiving.

It is a lovely morning here in jersey. A little cool but not bad. Some clouds but at least the sun is out.

Question of the Day
Do you have any hobbies to help you take your mind off of food?

I love to knit and quilt and other handiwork like cross stitch and embroidery. I love to have my pieces nice and clean so I wash my hands before I start working so with clean hands a must it is hard to eat anything.

Have a great day. Don't forget about this week's COW.

My hobby is Scrapbooking! However I never seem to have enough time to actually do it.

I have a bad cold and it's also very "cold" outside. I'm struggling to keep motivated this week. Having a cold I don't feel like getting on the treadmill. I've also made some not to good food choices the past 2 days. Today is a new day though and so far so good. I am having a Tastefully Simple party tonight so hopefully I can manage to not "taste" too much!

knovak I went to one of those parties a couple of weeks ago. Just don't go back for seconds. It was pretty easy to watch what you ate. Feel better with the cold

I too am a scrapbooker. It takes a ridiculous amount of time, so I can give myself the "after you finish this page you can eat" talk. By the time the page is done, I have usually forgotten about the food.

Good Tuesday Morning Happy Veteran's Day Thank you Veteran's and Servicemen who work to keep us safe.

I have the day off and have a lot of things to do.

Question of the Day
Is there any activity that you don't do now that you think you will do when you lose some weight?

I am not very athletic but I think I want to do something to surprise my family. A few years ago I decided to ride 25 miles for the MS Bike Tour. I surprised my dh and dss by doing it with no problem.

HAve a great day everyone.

QOTD There are a few things for me actually. A local "outdoor adventures" company does this big to-do around Halloween. Part of it are ropes course stuff (think the leap of faith the BL people had to do a few weeks ago as "alternative exercise"). That "climb the phone poll and jump" is one of the things you can do, plus a long zip line and a very unpleasant looking swing BUT....... the weight limit is 200 lbs and I am above that. Next Halloween I will be doing all of them! :thumbsup2

Hear Ye Hear Ye, the Weightkeeper speaks

Some weeks when I finish my calculations they surprise me. I then recheck everything and then step away for awhile. Well I have stepped away but the numbers still say what they say. Let's take a look.

-------------------Black Team-----Blue Team-----Red Team-----Total
started week---------20-------------24------------26------------70
removed---------------3--------------2-------------5------------10
current-members------17-------------22------------21------------60
not reporting 1 wk------4--------------1-------------6------------11
not reporting 2 wk------2--------------7-------------1------------10
weigh ins for week-----11-------------14------------14------------39

For your information on Week 1 we had 138 participants and 107 weigh ins. Where has everyone gone??? This week I have had to drop a member of Biggest Loser Central (our tireless leaders) for not reporting in for three weeks. WOW! The faithful and hearty are the ones that are left here. Let's stick this out losers!

Now on to the fun.

Black Team Week 8

11 weigh ins
5 gains totaling 9.3 lbs
3 maintains
3 losses totaling 2.9 lbs
3 removed from challenge with losses totaling 21.6 lbs

Weekly net GAIN 6.4 lbs
Cumulative net loss 84 lbs

Now the real fun begins. Let's look at our Black Team Superstars.

Once again we will include the following disclaimers. If you skip weeks your percentage is adjusted accordingly. If you gained last week and lost this week that affects your percentage. If you lost this week but are still working on losing last weeks gain you are not named a superstar. If you got problems with that PM or email me to gripe about it.

And of course the standard disclaimer. I am human and I make mistakes. I try not to. Believe me I really pour over all this stuff before I post it for you. I strive to be as accurate as possible. If you have a concern please PM or email me.

That's enough blubbering for now. I bet nobody even read it anyway. Here's what you're waiting to see.

We have had a few close weeks but that did not happen this week. One team clearly dominated the numbers this week. Let's see who it was.

The week 8 WISH BL 6 Challenge Biggest Loser Team

#3-The Black Team with a net GAIN for the week and -0.295% (a negative percentage of pounds lost)
To be #1 you would have had to lose an additional 14.4 pounds

#2-The Blue Team also had a net GAIN and -0.259% (a negative percentage)
To be #1 they would have had to lose an additional 17.7 pounds

and now announcing our weekly Biggest Loser Team Champions

#1-The Red Team-0.367%

The Red Team has pulled a victory for three weeks in a row. What are you going to do about that Black Team? The end is near and it would be great to see Black at #1 again wouldn't it? To do that you need to work together. Chatter on the team thread. Encourage and challenge each other. Be responsible and be accountable. Remember why you started with this challenge.

I was thrilled with adnil530-Linda's enthusiasm this week. She is the weekly Red Team Biggest Loser. She is almost at her goal weight. This challenge has really helped her.

A big part of my motivation is being part of a team. I am a team player. I would be embarrassed to post a gain, I would take that as a failure. I would beat myself up a bit for a maintain. I am well aware of what that extra piece of pizza would do to me, so I put it back.

Thanks for the inspiration Linda. You are proof that it CAN be done and we can help each other along the way.

We only have 5 more weigh ins. There is time to make a difference if you work hard. You are worth the effort. Wouldn't it be great to see your name in colors before this challenge ends? You know what to do and you can do it. Get to work. You can be a superstar!!

Have a healthy day!

I have to apologize. I forgot to weigh in! I've been really sick all weekend and I can't believe I forgot!

(I was down 1 pound :() Sorry! I'll do better this week!

I can't believe how much weight I've lost this week!! It definately must have been my TOM when I weighed in last week. I am 2.3 pounds away from what I weighed when I got married!! WooHoo! I didn't think it would ever happen.

My only hobby has always been reading. But now I can honestly say I am addicted to going to the gym, too. Because I work so hard at the gym it makes me be careful how much I eat. I usually try to figure how long on the treadmill it will take to work it off. I saw Amy mention that on the Biggest Loser last night.

My back has been fine all week. No pain at all since Friday. Thanks for the good wishes.

Have a good week everyone!!

Good Wednesday Morning. I don't have time to talk today. Lots of things to do and I didn't make it into my room very early this morning because of talking to people.

Question of the Day
What is your favorite ride in a Disney Park?

I have to get back to you on this. I made up this question and I really don't have an answer for it.

heart4pooh Glad to hear that your back is feeling better.

Actually been home since Sunday from WDW and DCL but it has taken me a few days to get organized and back into the groove.

So, vacation was good. Got my walking in 5 days out of the 7, and actually doubled my daily walk by 1.5 miles. That was the good part. The not so good part was the eating. Started out OK, but by the time I got on the ship, ended up eating too much food. Was very full, uncomfortable, and lethargic. I just can't eat like that anymore. Back on track on Monday with staying on points and continuing to exercise. I won't weigh in until this Saturday, so hoping for minimal damage.

QOTD- some might think this odd, but I LOVE "People Movers". Always has been my favorite ride since going to Disneyland in 1977.

Can't believe there is only 5 more weeks to BL. Hoping to lose at least another 5 before it's over. I will still continue my weight loss journey beyond that since my goal is a total of 50.

Hope everyone has a good week. We need to take back our winning streak. I hope I can do my part.

Good Tuesday Morning

Only a couple people answered the QOTD yesterday but I have to agree that TTA (Webway people mover in my family) is one of my favorite. We ride it at least 2 or 3 times during the trip.

Question of the Day
Let's exchange ideas about strategies to handle Thanksgiving Day

We are having a very unique Thanksgiving. My mother is celebrating her birthday on that day. She has invited the family to a pool party (yes we live in jersey) She has rented a hotel room for 2 days so that she has access to the pool. We are invited for 1 - 4 at the pool and then back to her house for dinnner. It is not a traditional dinner. We will all be bringing something to share. There will be potato salad, macaroni salad with shrimp(my specialty), rolls, green salad, fried chicken and london broil. If I stick with the salad and the london broil I should be okay.

My mom loves Boston Creme Pie and we make her one every year for her birthday. I found a lightened up version in a magazine. I will test it out next week for an event I have to go to and then if it is good I will pass it along to my sister who is in charge of the cake.

Have a great day everyone and don't forget that weigh in and the COW is due tomorrow.
