Good Friday Morning everyone. Happy Halloween. :maleficen :maleficen I sound like a broken record but I am the same. Considering that I have not really gotten in a good workout in almost 2 months I am very happy. I am starting to feel better but then I hit a day like yesterday and I felt like crap. One step at a time is what I keep telling myself.

I love Mounds. The dark chocolate and the coconut is just a great combination for me.

WOW! I have gotten some exercise in this week but not as much as I was hoping but I was able to keep my food intake a little more in check and it must have worked because I am down 2#!!!!

donac sorry to hear that you had no weight loss this week -- but there was no gain either! I have been dealing with a pulled muscle in my thigh but I think that has something to do with my 30 minutes of DDR!!!

I have also been trying to stay off the internet a bit more so I have been around as much to answer some of the QOTD. As for today's question, there are several sweet snacks that I could be: Reece cup, butterfinger, peanut m&ms... I love them all!
 
I stayed the same this week but apparently that is "normal" or so my trainer claims. Irritating and frustrating you bet ya! :thumbsup2
 
Happy Halloween Everyone!!! :hmghost:

I'm stuck at work so I can't see all the cute little kids in their costumes this year trick or treating...ah well. I myself am a mummy today. But I went the easy route and got one of the cute juniors shirts from Target that is made to look like I have wrapping all over the front of my shirt. lol

I'm happy to report I'm down 2 lbs this week!! I'm very excited! I definitely kept the snacking at bay which I think helped out A LOT! Since I just joined I'm curious to see what the COW is all about so I'm gonna hop on over there and check that out after this post. Yesterday and today my pup and I went for a 2 mile run. Felt really good as it was in the mid 70's today with hardly any humidity.

pixiemagic - Congrats on the drop! You do DDR too?! I just bought Hottest Party 2 for my Wii and I'm addicted! I think doing that for a half hour every day is definitely a great exercise and I've added that to my routine! Although I just found out that 3rd party mats don't work so if I want to have two mats I gotta try and find a Konami one online.

donac - Sorry to hear you are not down any but like pixie said, it's not a gain! And I agree, one step at a time, it's ok to have a bad day. Everyone has them, I know I have! :)

And for the question of the day I would have to say I'd be a PAYDAY! Salty and sweet!! YUMMY!!!

Hey everybody! I'm down two pounds too for the week! I didn't do so well last night. I gave in to the chocolate monster inside... And at the Hootenany that the community puts on every year I ate two and a half hotdogs!!! But the good news is that I'm down another .2 pounds from yesterday. I'm hyper sodium sensitive so I'm amazed I'm not up from eating the hotdogs.

I weigh in this morning for the Biggest Loser contest they are doing at my gym. I almost decided not to join yesterday when I found out they are taking pictures at the sign up. I avoid cameras at all costs. But I'm going to just grin and bear it (pun intended ;) ;) )

Finally, for the QOTD I first read it to be something they would want to spit out if they ate me:lmao: But if its something I like it would have to be chocolate, particularly a dark chocolate dove bar.

Down 1.2 this week. Hoping for more next week. I'm taking some meds that make me sick, so I haven't been eating as well and I think my body went into starvation mode a bit.

And before these pills I was definitely a Sweet!! But now I think I'm probably bland! lol

Down 1.2 this week. Total of 29.6 lbs. I am sooooo close to 30! Still have another 24 to go for my goal. I'm happy to be losing at a pace of about 1 lb per week. Works for me.

Leaving for WDW tomorrow. I have packed my work-out shorts and bought an armband for my Ipod because I plan to walk around the lake at BWV every morning, and then every day while on the cruise. Not planning on counting points while on vacation, but will watch my portions and make healthy choices. Except for the day at the F&W Festival at Epcot. I'll just split the tastings with DH. My goal is to NOT gain.

QOTD- Oatmeal cookies, soft and chewy. I could eat about a dozen of them.

Lots of last minute things to do today. Probably won't be posting much while I'm gone, but DH is bringing the laptop, so I'll check-in to see what's up.

We also had a weird week with big losses following gains from last week. To be fair I also divided those percentages in half. There is probably a better mathematical way to calculate this but my brain is fried right now. Sorry.

Wow everyone! Congrats on the results from week 6! :thumbsup2 It's crazy how just .1 of a pound can make a huge difference! Definitely keeps us motivated doesn't it? I know it does me!

Finishing up my long weekend of working. 7hrs 45min and counting! I had to work during the time change yesterday and it was so sad to watch the clock go from 1:59am back to 1:00am all over again!

I didn't get a chance to go running today before work as it was raining so I'm gonna hit the treadmill at the gym on my break in a couple of hours. I sneaked onto the scale this morning and it said I lost another 2.2 lbs, but I'm 99.9% sure it's all water weight so we'll see what the scale says Friday morning!

I've been doing really good eating wise these past few days and have been really good with snacking. It's so easy to run to the vending machine when it gets 3am at work and I'm bored out of my mind but I've denied the urge everytime! I brought a tuna sandwich and one of those sippable soups for dinner but I took a look at the sodium content on the soup and it was 980mg! So I might be passing on that!

Good Monday Morning everyone. WOW if only I had lost that .2 pounds we could have kept our streak running. I can't wait to see how we do this week.

Busy weekend. Ds2 was home this weekend for a hs football game. I went just to see the band. They are doing a horror at the movies type show with Night on Bald Mountain, theme to Harry Potter and the Thriller. Instead of their band costumes they wore halloween costumes. Thriller looks a lot different when a ballarina in a tutu does it. It was really cute and looked like a lot of fun.

Sat was another busy day. We had an Eagle Ceremony for my son's friend to go to and then after that we went to a sweet sixteen party with him. My eating at the party was not as good as it could have been but I had been eating lightly all day so it almmost fit into my calorie count for the day. We went to an place that serves food like a NY style deli. Dh and I ordered a pastrami sandwich and it had enough meat for 4 maybe 5 reasonable sandwiches. We also had a couple of onion rings and some potatoe skins. Not the best meal but I didn't go overboard either. I really slowed my pace so that I wouldn't finsih before everyone else. The other thing we did on Sat morning was go shopping and walked all around the mall getting the things ds and I needed. That helped a lot too.

SO a new week. DOn't forget that you have to vote tomorrow. Ds2 voted by absentee ballot on Friday. It gave me such a great sense of pride to see him vote for the first time. He registered without us reminding him. He called last Monday because the postoffice on campus was closed and he never got to send in his request for his absentee ballot. We found out he could go out to the county seat and get an absentee ballot and still vote. It was nice to see him so upset last week about not getting to vote.

Question of the Day
How does the cooler weather affect your eating habits?


I really crave more carbs. Nothing like a piece of toast with cinnamon and sugar on a cold morning.

I got good news last night. Dh finally agreed that maybe I should stay home this weekend and not go with the group of him and some scouts to NY state. They were going to stay at a friend's cabin. NO heat, electricity or running water and only an outhouse. I would be able to sleep on their couch with a wood burning stove going but would have to go outside if I needed to got to the bathroom(which I do at least twice a night) Then they are going to Howe cCaverns (which I would love to see again) and then a hike. They would be staying for 3 days. It is a 4 hour ride their and then on SUnday we would alsohave to drive ds2 back to school so 8 hours on SUnday. With me just gettting over shingles and still having some pain esepcially sitting for long period of time. And not working out since the beginning of Sept my ankle is very very iffy and very swollen. SO I don't have to go.

Ugh, if i had just lost a little this week, we would have won. Sorry guys!

As for the weather and my food. I am not outside as much and as I trod you when I am home I tend to eat, so not so good for me. Also, I LOVE hot cocoa, but those suckers can be up to 200 calories a cup if you get the "good" type. I try and limit to 1 a week.

I actually eat better--lots of soups and salads...but my bad food cravings seem to get worse too---probably with the jump start of all the stupid Halloween candy!

I have the day off since many of the schools in my district are used for voting we are off. This week and next week are two very strange weeks. I was in yesterday and I am off today. I have school on Wed and we are out THurs and Fri for teacher's convention(all the public schools are closed in the state) We are in on MOnday and out Tuesday for Veteran's Day We can't get anything done until next Wed. I plan to spend the next few days working around the house since this is the best (not 100% but better) I have felt in almost 2 months. I plan to do some cleaning and some sewing

Do you eat different foods when it is colder out?

Yes I eat a lot less salad and more stews and chili

donac --I would think we were twins! In the cooler months, we tend to eat more comfort foods: meatloaf and mashed tatas, homemade tata soup, chili, and the like. We will still eat some salads, but I really have to work at it sometimes...But knowing that I really want to get and keep some of this weight off will hopefully inspire me to add more salads...

In some respects my job is getting easier with fewer participants in our challenge. I am having a dilemma with trying to calculate weekly percentages in a fair manner. This week was a struggle. Those that skipped weeks had their percentages adjusted. Not too hard.

Now this week again I had nice losses from some of last weeks gainers. I decided to subtract their gains from this weeks loss and use that to calculate percentages. Some losers are still working on last weeks gain and even though they lost this week they are not named as superstars. I know this may not be the best way to handle this but I just want to be fair to our consistent losers.

And as usual keep in mind I am human. I am just a lowly volunteer here. I do not get paid for the hours I spend doing this. I do make mistakes. If you have a concern please PM or email me.

Is it easier or harder to eat healthy when it's colder out?


Yes it is. I just don't want to eat all the salads and fruits this time of year. I love melons and really miss them during the cold weather. I will splurge and buy them but they are not the same.

Hi team!

I have been absent for two weeks because I have been in WDW. It was fantastic, and I dread WI tomorrow like the plague, LOL.

Hopefully, I'll have a big loss to post for us next week as a result though!!

Time to get back at it. I have another cruise in 6 months to plan!

I am not so sure about my weight in this week, but I know next week I will be in the top 5!
