Oh boy, with the holidays it is going to be hard for me to find extra time to exercise! I figured I better post my quiz answers now before I forgot. ;)

The quiz seems pretty accurate! I currently coach basketball and softball (those who "can't", coach :rolleyes1 ). Also, when I workout to a tape, I always use the tv that I can do a split screen so I can watch something while I doing my WATP tape!

Your Personality Type: SPONTANEOUS
Life is a game, and your strategy is always changing. While you aren't much for rules, you'll follow them if they're simple and help you have fun.

Your Exercise Rx:
Short but sweet activities that allow you to accumulate exercise time throughout the day may be a good choice, says Ross Andersen, PhD, director of exercise science at Johns Hopkins' weight management center. Spontaneous types also tend to do well with games.

Best Choices
  • Short walks throughout the day
  • Taking the stairs
  • Bike rides
  • Hiking
  • Tennis
  • Racquetball
  • Squash
  • Basketball
  • Frisbee

Leisure Activities
Your first priority is to work regular exercise into your week. But also think about using your leisure time to burn off a few extra calories. Here are some extracurricular activities for your personality type:
  • skiing
  • playing in a softball or volleyball league

Obstacles
Different personalities don't just take to different activities; they have to contend with different obstacles too. Here's what you might find in your path, as well as ways to get around it:
Your biggest enemy is an idle mind. Even short workouts can turn torturous if there's nothing to occupy your brain.
Solution: Watch TV or listen to music while exercising, or grab a workout partner to talk with.

Good Friday Morning

I have to get this done before the craziness starts.

The winner of this week's weigh in and challenge is

THE BLACK TEAM

Weigh in

Black Team 1.6%loss :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Blue Team .469% loss
Red Team .465% loss

Challenge Points
Black Team 270
Blue Team 180
Red Team 55

Congrats Black Team :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Let's keep up the hard work that we have done this week over the next two weeks.

We are discussing the possibilities of combining all the teams into one thread and doing a BL starting Jan 1st where there will be no teams but individuals competing. It will only be one thread so all that have stayed for the entire time this time can all get to know each other better. Let me know what you think about that.

Crazy day at school and an even crazier weekend. Dh and I are going for colonoscopies tomorrow morrning. No dinner and pills to clean me out. If I am lucky it will help with the weight loss this week.

Have a great day and keep up the hard work.

YEAH BLACK TEAM!!:dance3: I WOULD LOVE TO BE APART OF THE COJOINED TEAM! THAT COULD BE FUN. IT WOULD HELP ME GET THAT LAST 10 OFF!!!COUNT CLARK KENT IN TOO!!! THANK YOU!:thumbsup2

Here are the results from my quiz.

Your Personality Type: INSPIRATIONAL
You're the type who catalyzes other people into action. You know how to say all the right things, which is why people gravitate toward you, tell you their problems, and look to you for inspiration. You're creative and are concerned about achieving personal growth.

Your Exercise Rx:
Dual-purpose exercise. To you, working out is engaging only when it's about more than just your body. You are more apt to enjoy it if it's about being part of a community or about exploring your inner self. To enhance your spiritual side, try listening to music to set the mood for a peaceful workout.

Best Choices

Softball
Volleyball
Soccer
Dance classes
Water aerobics
Martial arts
Trail running
Swimming
Tai chi

Leisure Activities
Your first priority is to work regular exercise into your week. But also think about using your leisure time to burn off a few extra calories. Here are some extracurricular activities for your personality type:

nature walks
yoga

Obstacles
Different personalities don't just take to different activities; they have to contend with different obstacles too. Here's what you might find in your path, as well as ways to get around it:
Because you may often engage in activities that involve instructors or coaches, you run the risk of being turned off by corrections or criticism aimed at you--or anyone else in your group.
Solution: Remind yourself that the teacher or coach is only trying to help you; if that doesn't work, look for a class or team that focuses more on teamwork or a teacher or coach whose style you prefer.

I like the fact that it seems to have me almost to a tee. I love swimming and yoga and walking. As a teacher I need to be inspirational especially to the students who I am prepping to take the AP Calc exam in May. They have to go into it with a feeling that they can do it.

Just popping by to say a quick hello and Congratulations on our wins!!!!!!!!
That is awesome. `

I was away for the weekend, and did a lot of walking in NYC on saturday, but also a lot of eating, but am happy to report no weight gain today. I'll be back tonight and get the prevention quiz done at least for the challenge, and read through the rest of the thread.

Hope everyone had a good losing weekend!!

Here is mine... I totally do not see this in me. I took it twice though and gave various answers for some I could not decide on and both times it gave me the same type!

I checked and I am the same today. :headache: This just gets annoying after a while! I got in some extra exercise this weekend - basketball scrimmage. We didn't have enough players show up for practice so I had to play. I am sure I burned off some extra calories running around in my heavy jeans, but shorts would have been more comfortable!

WOOOO HOOOO for the Black Team WIN!!!!!!!!

Here's my results for the prevention quiz. I think it is pretty accurate. I definitely like exercise to be fun, and quick walks before work are what I strive to do.

Geetey- Hang in there. It is annoying, how hard we work, and lose so slowly, but I know the slower it comes off, the longer it will stay off. Good work on the basketball.

Dona- Sounds like your quiz was right on with all the inspiration you spread around here. I work in endoscopy and we occassional couples who come in for their colonoscopies together. I think it's great to have someone to go through it with. Hope all went well for you both.

I think a group thread in the new year sounds like a great idea. Have a great night all.

HI everyone.

My colonoscopy went well but when they scoped down from the top they found some irritation so I am on Nexium for a while.

My husband had two polys that they removed. The doctor is 99% positive that they are nothing but I will not be happy till we get the biospy.

The place is very funnny since we were having our 17 year old drive us home. The nurses were all surprised that we would want a 17 year old drive us home. THey also were surprised that he was up and would stay awake on a Sat morning to drive us.

Don't forget weigh in tomorrow. I don't think that I have lost any but I have been pretty busy the last couple of days so we shall see. I may wait until tomorrow night to weigh in. I am giving a workshop tomorrow and I need to be in a good mood. I have given may 30 -40 workshops for math teachers all over the state and tomorrow may be my last one. I am getting a little tiredd of it. Teachers make the worst students sometimes. It is going to be a little bit funny but it will be the first time that my dh will be in my workshop. A friend from his school wanted to take the class but didn't want to take it alone so he talked dh into taking it.
