Bl 7.1 purple team!!!!!

I'm sorry I'm a male. I used to do 100 Jumping jacks durring High School marching Band Camp durring my 4 years in high school. This is the first time i have added Jumping Jacks to my routine before I walk. Btw Tonight is my weigh-in for week 9 I will PM Eeyores Butterfly tomorrow morning with my results as well as Post the results to the rest of you all

OOPS, my bad! SO sorry that I didn't read your signature better. But still, great job on the jumping jacks. I hope your weigh in went well.

Here's another QOTD:
What are you doing for dinner tonight?

(I have no idea, so I'm hoping to get an idea from somebody's answer ;) )

Well, I am only seeing this this morning, so here is what we did. It was what we call a "grab and go" night, which unfortunately isn't that unusual for us. DH is away, DD had a Rainbow Girls event, and I figured DS and I would hit the grocery store while we waited for DD. DD had a plate of leftovers ( a bit each of chicken, rice, steak, and corn), DS had a grilled cheese, half a banana, and a glass of milk. I made a large salad with a bit of cold brown rice on it, topped with Paul Newman lt. sesame ginger dsg. No protein...:confused3.... I know, bad girl. I was in a hurry.

Tonight I am making a recipe from the new Hungry Girl cookbook... some sort of chicken salad... for DD and myself. Not sure what DS will have. Maybe fish sticks or some salmon.

Well folks, one of my FAVORITE Weight Watchers lecturers used to have a saying..... "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got". And I've been thinking a lot about that lately as my weight loss has been less than spectacular. I'm going to spend a few weeks "shaking up" my usual eating pattern to see if I can "shake off" a few extra pounds. In looking back at my food journal, I am definitely in a rut with regards to my meals. I RARELY change it up too much. Hot drink, english muffin, peanut butter/tofu spread or oatmeal for breakfast, veggies (either salad or hot stir fry) or cereal/milk for lunch (not always with protein), and then small portion of protein, veggies, whole grain starch for dinner. Maybe a piece of fruit or Fiberone bar for afternoon snacks, and usually a sweet (Skinny Cow or WW dessert) for dessert.

I'm going to try adding more protein and reduce my carbs (even though they are usually "okay" carbs). Increase my fruit and reduce those "artificial" sweets.

I'm also going to try splitting up my work outs. Instead of doing it all at once (usually in the am), I'm going to try to split it up throughout the day (as much as possible when working). I've been doing this for a few days and it seems to work out well.

I'll let you all know how it is working for me. For breakfast today I had my usual hot drink, steamed carrots/cauliflower/broccoli mix, 1/2 C scrambled egg substitute, and 1/2 90 calorie english muffin (dry). Lunch is a big salad with 2 oz of chicken breast and half a banana.

BTW, I have some summer clothes to give away. I will try to be back later tonight to let you know what (just a few pairs of shorts and capris). If you are a size 14, 12, or 10, stay tuned!...........................P

:goodvibes:thumbsup2Hey folks I have lost 3 pounds this week now my weight is 192 pounds. those Jumping Jacks helped

SpaceMtnFan - You sure are dropping steadily with your weigh-ins! What you're doing is working well :goodvibes

pjlla - changing things up may be the jumpstart your bodies needs.

For dinner I ended up having whole wheat spaghettini with a chunky vegetable spaghetti sauce. It really hit the spot. I've been really craving crunchy, salty snack foods lately, and so I decided to try something new. I bought some of the flavoured rice cakes. So far I've tried the savoury tomato and basil and its delicious.

I'm going to go ahead and do another QOTD since I'm not positive when I'm supposed to stop.

Wed QOTD: What's your favourite eating out healthy choice?

Wed QOTD: What's your favourite eating out healthy choice?

Well, I would have to say Applebee's because they have a great Weight Watchers menu. But it is not my family's first choice, so they usually go there under protest. Second choice would be someplace with a decent salad bar...............P

Good Afternoon Purple Team!

I restructured what I've been doing -- changed my workout schedule and started counting (WW) my points. I've already seen a big change in just a few days. I credit a comment from Corinna, who said it's food not exercise that causes her to lose. I've been concentrating really hard on the exercise, but eating whatever crossed my path. I scaled back my exercise (no more 6 mi runs until I go into training), a rest day every 3 days instead of once a week, and planning and tracking my food. I needed to do something different, because what I was doing wasn't working.

My favorite eating out healthy choice is the fresco style menu at Taco Bell.

Last night for dinner I had barbequed chicken breast tenders, steamed veggies, and mashed potatoes.

My three favorite veggies are sugar snap peas, corn on the cob, and beefsteak tomatoes -- but I do enjoy most veggies. Won't touch brussel sprouts

On the weekends I usually eat after I run, and it usually ends up being Brunch, 'cause I don't get up that early :rotfl: Half the time I have a lunch food, leftovers from the previous nights dinner. If we are having a conscious breakfast, dh will make homemade banana or choc chip pancakes and smoothies, and if we're really feeling decadent, homemade hashbrowns and bacon. We tend to save those for Christmas or New Year's Day.

My wedding anniversary and Mother's Day are both in the same weekend, so I know that will be a challenge. My fellas like to treat me with things I don't normally have, and that usually means food I wouldn't eat on a weekly basis -- like a giant coffee cake muffin from Dunkin' Donuts. I try to get some exercise in with a family walk, but ds and dh are less than enthusiastic. I think they'd rather just wait on me all day than have to move themselves! :rotfl: And my dh thinks a big box of Godiva is a much better gift than an outing or something he would pick out and possibly get the wrong style, color, etc. I don't really care what I get, normally, but I'm hoping for less food this year...Both of our mothers have passed, so the day really is about me in my family. I'm not complaining about being treated like a queen (ok, I guess I am), I just want to be treated like the queen who needs a WiiFit! :lmao:

Happy Anniversary! Mine sometimes fall on Mother's day as well, but not this year.

I guess you should be happy to be treated like a queen. Sad, though, that your moms are gone. DH only seems to realize that HIS mom is a mother on Mother's day. If the kids weren't old enough to think of it themselves (with the help of some subtle reminders from me), and if I didn't put out heavy gift suggestions, I'm not sure if he would remember me at all on MOther's Day.

On my first Mother's day (DD was about 10 mo old) he actually had to run out to the grocery store while we were at his sister's house (to see HIS mother) and buy a card at about 3pm and then quickly give it to DD to give me...... talk about last minute!!

His mother is much older than mine, so I have always let his mother take precedent on Mother's Day weekend, but a few years ago I started insisting that we alternate so my mother doesn't get the shaft.... this was especially important the year after my grandmother had passed.

Anyhow..... if you receive food gifts from them, knowing that you are trying to lose weight and eat healthier, I think you should politely ask for a gift receipt or something like that. If you were an alcoholic, would they buy you a six pack for Mother's Day?? Tell them in advance that while you LOVE everything that they give you, this year you must INSIST on NO food gifts. That will make things easier. GOod luck................P

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

See, now you just made me laugh! Our anniversary is May 8th, so sometimes we get the same day, but it's always close.

I think you are right -- I usually don't ask for anything, so if I don't tell them I don't want food, how will they know? :confused3

Wow, I give you credit for the mature way you handle your dh's Mother's Day approach. I would have a really hard time with that, and I adored my MIL. Interesting that he gets that his Mother should be celebrated, but not the Mother of his children -- maybe this year will be a breakthrough! :wizard:

I'm having lunch at P.F. Chang's today. I have a food plan -- one of their bowl lunches which includes hot & sour soup, brown rice, some kind of chicken or beef. I'll also get one of their petite desserts (it's a shot glass size). I'm not eating any snacks today, so I think the extra calories will be o.k. I ran 4 mi this morning before work after resting yesterday, and the scale still seems to be going downward. I'll be honest -- if my weight goes up from the Chinese food tomorrow, I'm using today's weight for the weigh-in! ;)

Worfiedoodles and Pjlla:
Its funny how everybody handles Mother's Day differently. I usually get a card, but often Mother's Day gets lost in other plans. For my first DD we went to Stars on Ice on Mother's Day, which we hadn't realized was the same day when we bought the tickets. Then after I had my 2nd DD we were taking a week to drive slowly to DL and spent Mothers day in the van and forgot it was Mother's Day until we were going to bed. Last year was my best Mother's Day so far - we were on the Panama Canal cruise and Mother's Day landed on the day at Castaway Cay :cool1:

Good morning teammates! I've got about 30 seconds..... I'm down 3.6 lbs. So I've lost most of last week's gain, but not quite all of it. I'm not disappointed, but I'm not over-excited either! Gotta go!......P

Hey Purple Team!

I won't have my official weigh-in until this afternoon, so I'm still in the "hoping for a loss stage". I feel really good about how I turned things around this week, and I'm confident I will be rewarded! :thumbsup2

pjlla -- Congratulations! 3.6 lbs is truly awesome! :woohoo:And Congratulations for winning the COW!!! I think we know your strategy! :worship:

LuvBaloo -- It sounds like you've had some pretty awesome Mother's Days without even trying! ::yes:: Mother's Day on Castaway Cay sounds like a dream come true :cloud9:

Our weekend plans include a science project for ds and an 8 miler for dh, who's training for a Half Marathon -- Plus the Celtics playoff game. I just have a 4mi run up, and then I'm planning on taking advantage of it being dh's turn to help ds with a project (I just did the last book report, so science is on Daddy!) and use the time to myself to read and catch up on the many, many hours of Tivo I haven't watched. Sunday is a rest day for me, so other than church I don't have any obligations. I'm looking forward to that :yay:

Maria :upsidedow

Okay... my students are off to library, so I have just a few minutes to chat.

Thanks for all of the congrats on the COW winning. I think that I probably won because I definitely keep up with the veggies and the water. Plus I haven't missed a day of exercise for the past 10 or so days, so that definitely helps. But I am taking today off to rest my legs.... my thighs and knees have been killing me, so I think I need a break.

I was definitely hoping for a bigger loss today, after last week's big gain. It proves that it wasn't just a "fluke" or "water weight". But Aunt Flo arrived this morning, ahead of schedule, and I am feeling a bit bloated, so maybe I will sneak a peek at the scales on Sunday to see if it has changed significantly.

I'll be back later when I can chat more.................P

Hey Gang The weekend is here. But the weather is iffy for tomorrow . The forcast calles for Rain off and on . But if it does not rain I will walk tomorrow morning . It it rains I may have to postphone the Walk. I will keep you informed. But I will walk today around the town as I take care of things after work. Have a great weekend:thumbsup2

I'm getting ready to pick up the kids and head to the next town north. The kids will be spending the weekend with their cousins while DH go out to a concert with Dsis and her hubby. Then we get to go shopping for bunkbeds for the kids and will hopefully have the new bed and dressers set up in the kids room before we bring them home on Sunday. So it will be a busy but fun weekend.

I'm thrilled with a 1.5lb loss this morning. :thumbsup2

pjlla - glad to hear the scale was heading the right way today.

Worfiedoodles - sounds like you have a great weekend planned.

SpaceMtnFan - hopefully you can get your walk in before the rain tomorrow

Have a great weekend everybody. I don't think I'll get back to the computer until Sunday night. :goodvibes
