BL 7.1 Green Team!!!

Welcome to 50sJayne and Mickey Magic!

Congratulations to those who lost and hugs to those who didn't. I was a maintainer again but I was on vacation so I was happy with not gaining. But now I am ready to rock and roll the rest of this challenge!

QOTD - What do plan to change for the up coming week?

My big change this week is exercise! I am shooting for at least 30 minutes of activity a day. Now, I don't like to exercise, and I refuse to exercise on Mondays -- my worst day of the week -- so I am going to use my friend the pedometer to help me make sure that I am up and moving. I have a good 1/2 mile circuit with hills right outside my front door plus another flat 1/2 mile circuit outside my office door. Between those two circuits, I should get a good start on this new habit. I'm going to be like Dory except I will say "just keep walking, just keep walking!"

Congrats to all the losers!!!!!!!!!! I am a gainer this week-1 lb. Every other day here the weather is awful and I go right into a funk if the sun is not out.

Linda

I'm right there with you, if the sun isn't out my body doesn't like to function.:confused3

Good Saturday Morning everyone. It is warm but very windy here in jersey.

I started vacation by picking up ds from college. We have a memorial service to go to today for someone who worked with our Boy SCout troop and helped my sons get their Eagle badges. So the entire family is going this afternoon. I think then I am going with ds2 to see a local version of High SChool Musical. A friend of his is in it.

Question of the Day
What do plan to change for the up coming week?

If you don't want to change anything tell us something that worked for you.

I plan on trying to get back on track with my exercise program. I am planning to try to keep on my school schedule so that when I go back to work it I can keep up with the exercise.

Have a great day everyone. Welcome to all the newcomers. If you haven't sent in your weight please do so today. Let's have 100% for the first week.

I am sure the family will appreciate you all attending the memorial service.

QOTD - I too need to up my exercise this week so that is one thing that I'm going to change. Not sure if the outside walking routine will be back but I can do some Wii Fit exercise along with some floor stuff, so there is no excuse for me!!

Greetings to all!!!
I'm inside today--we got 4" snow last night--so it's gorgeous outside but definitely plan to stay indoors where it's warm. We were hoping to plant some of the 'cold weather' plants today--but that will have to wait til later this week.

QOTD - I need to work on my exercise but I also should work on the indulgences I've been taking... but I'm trying to stay positive with this whole thing--so I think I'll focus on adding excerise and hopefully that change will overflow into helping me have more control and indulge less ;)

Have a great day!!
:) Liz

Hey! sorry I was missing in action for a few weeks here, we just got back from Disneyland and it was work work work before, and the same after. I've been busy doing a trip report and just generally getting back in the swing of things. My weight when we got to Disneyland was 152, I gained a pound on the trip, then lost 2 coming back. When I started the biggest loser 7 challenge I was 175. I did catch up on everyones posts today, voted for Jimminy and ready to get back in the game. I would love to lose 10 more pounds then keep it off. We are going back to Disney in a little over a year so that will be great motivation :) If I lose 10 more pounds I can start digging in thrift shops and the clearance rack at Target for new clothes-- that's great motivation for me. Well bye for now, Susan.

Oh-- ps I'm going to start fresh with the quotds- one thing I could change is watching how full my glass of wine is on the days I get home from work late. Just enough is good-- too much I think I can eat everything in the house.

Susan, I saw your trip report -- looks like you had a great time and you look marvelous! Keep up the hard work! :thumbsup2

Good Sunday Morning

I have church this morning and then we have to take ds2 back to school.

The memorial service yesterday was very nice and the person they were remembering would have loved the service. It had all the music that she loved.

Not much else is going on around here. It is a little chilly this morning but the wind has died down.

Went last night with ds2 (he doesn't have a car and didn't want to get lost) to see an old friend of his in High SChool Musical. Last she was at his old high school and she played the rug in Beauty and the Beast. This year she had the lead at another high school that she had moved to. She was so happy to see my son and I ( I helped fit and was constantly repairing her rug costume last year) It's not a great show and the microphones were terrible but she had a great voice and it was fun to see her enjoy herself.

Question of the Day

Do you do anything special for your children or spouse for the up coming holidays?

Have a great day

happysmyly – The snow sounds beautiful but I have to admit that I’m glad it isn’t down our way.;)

50sjayne – I’m going to head over and check out your trip report, I love reading those but I’ve never written one (may have to give it a try).

QOTD – We usually have a family get together with DH’s family and some of the Aunts and Uncles too. For the kids, instead of buying candy anymore, we do a gift card to Starbucks or I-Tunes.

My plans for the day include relaxing and getting some cross stitching time in. My mom is coming over in a little while and we are having brunch but after that I'm going into relaxation mode. I may even take a nap this afternoon, sleep wasn't so good last night so I need to make up for that.

I hope everyone has a great day - I doubt I'll be back on until tomorrow.

Been busy catching up on housework from our vacation and catching up on the Disboards in between. :goodvibes

QOTD Do you do anything special for your children or spouse for the up coming holidays?

School starts again on Monday so it will be a regular week. We will have a family dinner together on Sunday. There will be small Easter basket and egg hunt for old times sake as DS now knows the secret about the identity of the Easter Bunney, etc. I will be very careful about the number of chocolate eggs that I consume so as not to undo my hard work.

Have a great week-end losers!

Good morning everyone. I hope you're all enjoying the weekend. Happysmyly, I cringed when I heard you had snow!!! I am so ready for spring, I wouldn't enjoy it at all.

I'm doing much better this week, on track with the eating, exercise, and was happy with my weighin at ww. I was up a pound, but expected more.

We have a lunch barbeque, and I'm planning to stick with salad and chicken, and I'm bringing cookies that I baked, and will have 2 of them. I did much better baking this morning, than the other night. I really want to stay in control through easter. At my ww meeting yesterday, we were talking about holidays and the leader had us all close our eyes and talked us through the holiday, with a positive attitude, and told us to choose one or two foods that make the holiday special, and plan to have them and really enjoy them, taste each bite, and not to scoff them down. They call it mental rehearsing, and I think it will help me.

Todays' qotd- the easter bunny will be bringing little toys, a dvd, and only a few pieces of candy. My family gets together and after dinner we have an easter egg hunt, and my mom always buys a ton of chocolate eggs. My sister and I have been trying to convince her that the kids and us do not need that much, but she's won't stop. This year, we have a bunch of plastic eggs that we're going to hide and we've filled them with money, stickers, erasers and bouncy balls. Just little non food treats.

qotd- what will i change this week?-- I'm concentrating on getting in all the healthy guidelines- fruits and vegies which are usually easy for me, and milks and healthy oils which I struggle with. I'm also going to try and get to an extra ww meeting, since I've been struggling lately, I find the meetings really help to motivate and keep me on track.

TAmmy- sounds like a nice relaxing sunday. Enjoy it.

Dona- glad things went well for you yesterday.

Have a great day everyone.

Welcome to our newest team members!!:welcome:

I would like someone on here to explain to me how to multi-quote as well, almost 5 years on the dis and I still can't do it :confused3

I hope everyone's weekend was fun, tomorrow is Monday again....My kids are on spring break this week so we are planning to do some fun things outdoors if the weather cooperates.

I didn't do so great this weekend with my eating so back on track tomorrow, we are going to a movie so I know I will have some popcorn, so Monday back on track.

QOTD yesterday- I am going to have to change up quite a bit this week because I will be either going to the gym very early before everyone gets up or late when hubby gets home since the kids are out of school this week, other than that I think I am going to start walking around the block in the evenings so I can get more cardio, plus the kids want to do it also.

QOTD today- I always cook a big Easter dinner for my family so this will be a planned cheat day. For my kids instead of all the easter bunnies and chocolates I am going to try to make some sort of "easter basket" of fruit. I will probably buy a few candy items but not much, they got so much candy for valentines day that after it sitting there for 2 weeks I finally just trash canned the rest of it, and as all of us know we definitely don't need a bunch of candy just sitting around the house. I plan to buy a watermelon and carve it out to be a basket with a handle and fill it with various fruits. I would just buy an edible arrangement but this way seems more fun, and less expensive.

I hope everyone has a nice Sunday evening relaxing and doing what they enjoy.:goodvibes Tomorrow is Monday back to the grind. Don't forget our COW. Keep one foot in front of the other and try to stay on the right track.;)

If you haven't voted for our clippie, please do so, I would like to be done with voting by tomorrow if possible. :thumbsup2

Happysmyly- would you believe I have never even seen snow?!?

Happysmyly- would you believe I have never even seen snow?!? Kim

Well - I grew up in San Diego and can still remember the first time I saw snow--I was 16 and we went to play in the snow in the mountains--when it started to snow I got out of the car and just stood there - looking up and being amazed by it all.
I still get that way with the first few snowfalls of the year--amazed at the quiet hush that it brings - and it's soooooo beautiful when it's covering everything with a sparkly white. Everyone's yard--well groomed or not looks pretty in the snow ;)

But today the 'heat' has come - it's in the 40s outside so most of the snow has been melting all day--lots of mud out there now.

QOTD - Well - since it's just me and DH (we have no kids) I know I'll make a festive meal (probably thaw a turkey breast--or get a ham on sale) and then do a web cam chat with niece and nephews so they can tell me about their easter--if they lived closer than 8 1/2 hrs away we would go there... but we'll be here instead :)

Good luck everyone with the COW this week!!!
:) Liz

Thank you I needed that

Quotd: Kids have always got an Easter Basket- this year will be no different ;-) Daughters 20 and sons 18 lol. Of course the presents have changed with time lol. I always work, then go to my moms for dinner- this year I think I'll offer to get the ham since I can get a good deal on one from work. Mothers Day I need to do better this year. I always work so my boss can have the day off- her mom is in her late 80's and she is a mom to 5. However I need to be more organized with the time I have. Actually I'm not sure if my Mom will even be here this year lol- they are visiting all of our family in Illinois and doing it a sort of scenic way driving. She wasn't here last year either lol-- she was in France. They are both newly retired so good for them ;-)

The 4th is big for us we are huge fireworks fans, husband goes up to Washington to get the cheap illegal ones lol, and we like the big fireworks shows. We typically see the ones at the end of our cities baseball game (our favorite as they Rock and we sit free over at the high school there) those are just always amazing- it's like a 20 minute grand finale. We like to vary where we go for the 'big show' since were not really happy with our cities.(too smoky-tiny little area to do your own-- aka war zone) Last year we went up to a small town about 15 minutes North of us and enjoyed an old fashioned type event with great 'works over the bridge. In fact sounds good for this year too. We live pretty close to the rodeo too that does them for 3 nights prior.

Miniefan - I'll try to help on doing the multi-quotes...when you come to a post that you want to quote, click on the button that has the plus mark on it (it is beside the quote button), keep clicking that plus mark button on each post you want to quote. When you have selected all the ones you want, then click on the Post Reply button and you should see all the posts in there. If you're still having trouble, maybe there is someone else that can explain it differently.

Sounds like everyone had a good weekend and has some great sounding goals for the next few holiday times.

I have to say that I ended up eating too much over the weekend. My focus today is getting in lots of water and eating a nice healthy green salad for lunch. My stomach really wasn't happy after the eating.

Let's have a great day today Green Team, make sure to get your voting in for the clippie and let's all make good choices today!!

Now you guys are making me feel guilty for having enough of the snow this year. :rotfl: I actually do enjoy it most of the time, but when I think about how many people have never seen it, and how beautiful it can be, I feel like we can take so many things for granted. I also live near the beach, which is another thing so many people have never seen. I'm very lucky.

Sounds like you have a great plan to get you right back on track. It is amazing how our bodies tell us when we have not eaten good things.

I did indulge at the party we went to yesterday, but tracked and counted all of it. I had to take my son to my brothers wrestle mania party for a while last night, so I brought myself a cup of coffee and sipped on that instead of snacking on all the food there. Not a fruit or vegetable in site. I'm really motivated to stay on track this week. We all can do it. I want to show a loss for the green team on friday.

Have a great, losing day!!

I just got back from grocery shopping. I had no fruits or veggies in the frig so that is what I mostly bought. There was not a lot of processed food in my cart so I was pretty happy with what I bought.

mikaham I can relate to the no fruits or veggies at a party. My inlaws idea of entertaining is to put out cheese doodles, chips, cheese and salsa. Veggies for dinner is canned or frozen. If my sister in law supplies the dinner then everything is covered in some sort of cheese or cream sause.

Question of the Day
If you walk do you walk outside, on a treadmill, do Walk Away the Pounds or use a pedometer and just walk around your house?

I have been using a pedometer for the last couple of months. I am working to get to 12000 consistently. I am consistently at 7000 and some days hit 10000. This is one thing I am going to work on this challenge.
Have a great day everyone.

Too funny that today's QOTD is about walking and pedometers--I got mine out this morning and discovered it needs a new battery (it's been awhile since I used it, obviously).
Last year I found that in an average day without trying I normally only take around 3500-4000 steps... and so I was gonna see how that would change on a day working outside--but that will have to wait til another day (when I get a new battery).
I know the goal should be at least 10K steps so I've a way to go there... but I think with the weather getting to the point where I can stand to be outside without bundling up so much--I am going to try to get there and more.
I live in a small house - so no room for a treadmill and the closest gym is 40 minutes away... so it's pretty much walking (though I did get a mini-tramp and have used that as well) outside. :)
Good luck, greenies, with the COW and your personal goals this week!!
:) Liz

I walk outside. I take an hour walk on my lunch,I'm lucky in that I answer the phone while the receptionist is on her lunch, which is when I eat mine, so I get the whole hour to walk. I always wear my pedometer. Every day all day. I don't have a treadmill, but I just got the Walk Away the Pounds DVD, but have not tried it yet.

Question of the Day from Sunday...

Do you do anything special for your children or spouse for the up coming holidays?

Most Easters are spent at DMil's house, but this year we are going to DBIL's DGF's house for brunch. We also went this past Sat to our DIS friends easter party, where I did well on my eating, but not on my drinking. I know that I drank alot of my points. :scared1: Have to watch this area.

Good afternoon, Greenies, glad that everyone had a good week-end!

Question of the Day

This is something that I working on this challenge. If I can just get the exercise component going in my life I know that my journey to good health will go much faster and smoother. I need to get my pedometer out and get ready for the COW that I know is coming for steps -- thanks for the warning, donac! I have a couple of the Walk Away the Pounds DVDs to use when the weather isn't cooperating -- which is a lot still! Some days Leslie's chirpiness is just a little too much for me . . .

Have a great day and do something nice for yourself!

Hey green teamies!!

Hope everyone had a great start to their week. My kids are on spring break this week so I am going to be kind of busy.

QOTD- I walk on a treadmill at the gym, I don't have a pedometer but I plan on getting one, and I sometimes walk at the park by my house.

If you haven't already voted on our clippie please don't forget to.
