Craziness here at my house. My daughter is running around saying OMG, not the phrase just the three letters. It is so wonderful to have all three kids here to enjoy and Kyler too. We just finished our Thanksgiving dinner for 10. Some folks went to the local park to see the Christmas lights display. When they return it will be time for pumpkin pie and cheesecake. I will only have really small pieces!

I am getting a bit stressed about tomorrow is the big day. My son has been hounding me about the groom/mother dance. I am really not looking forward to that because I do not like to be the center of attention. He said after a couple of minutes other people will join us dancing. I don't think so and I will want to quit dancing after a few minutes and people will think I am running away from my son. I need to stop stressing about this.

I have not been DISing much today and I have missed BIG BIG news. The official results are in. Hold on Red Team, it's a shocker.

Red Team what a great week!! We really did well through the holidays. Our 4 gains only totaled 5.6 pounds and our losses were 9.2. Yes we had members that lost 9.2 pounds over the Thanksgiving holiday. Those 8 people were really working hard. We had seven people maintain through the holiday and I think our four gains were very small. What a fabulous team effort. Each team member played an important part in our victory.

I always knew we would eventually win a weigh in and we did and it feels GOOD!!

Gang is back from the park so it is pie time. I will only eat really small pieces because I am a BIG FAT RED LOSER and WE ARE #1!!

:cool1: :cool1:

Yay us!!!

Brenda my DD also says OMG that way. LOL.

In answer to the QOTD....For me I think the biggest challenge will be making sure that I don't start slipping with my eating. I know that in the past once I have lost a certain amount of weight I start to feel like I can eat a bit more or "celebrate".

What I have to so is remember that I still have a long way to go so celebrating cannot become a way of life.

I do the exact same thing! As soon as I have a loss, I let myself slip a little, forgetting that it was healthy eating and exercise that got me to the point I am. Next week is going to tough for me, I have a holiday cookie class, a Christmas party and a birthday party all in one week. I think I'm going to have to cut out the alcohol b/c even just one glass of wine lowers my ability to say no to unhealthy food.

Congrats Red Team on being the Biggest Losers this week!!!! This was probably the hardest week of all to do it, with Thanksgiving!!!!

Hello Red Team...we ARE doing it! I have been sick since Wednesday afternoon. Still feeling blech and on a whim got on the scale and off and on again...I lost 7 pounds since Tuesday...water weight gain and sick...not a great way to lose and I am sure it will even out a bit as I begin to eat.

Brenda...pretend you are the only two on the floor...you will only have this chance with him once and you don't get it back...go for it and be proud!!! You are an awesome person gonna make him proud...:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

WOW ... I've been working so much overtime lately, I haven't been here. What a fabulous thing to come and see that we came in first! Haven't exercised in weeks because I was working my lunches, but I've been maintaining every week ... so at least that's something.

Weigh to go, TEAM! We're #1 !!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Brenda ... hope the wedding is wonderful and magical. :goodvibes
And yes, take a ME day on Monday ... I liked the suggestion of a long walk, hot bath, and DIS'ing. ;)

Have a great weekend folks.

Can't wait to hear from Brenda how everything went. I have been MIA from posting here for weeks. Life is just busy. I am heading to the gym, not really wanting to go since it is 7 AM and 19 degrees out. But I am going. Then a day full of work (I'm on call this weekend, no I don't get reimbursed in any manner) and have to get Girl Scout stuff ready for our meeting tomorrow, then I have to give out info at the Cookie Meeting after dinner (for our whole town). DD has chorus practice. UGH!!!! It is that time of the year that we are spread to thin.

So my Question of the Day: Do you feel that you are able to enjoy the season?

Do you actually get to enjoy caroling, sitting by a fire with hot chocolate and enjoying your family, decompressing, watching your favorite shows or movies, crafts?

Yeah. For the most part I do. I like sending out Christmas cards. I like wrapping gifts to the Christmas Carols on the radio. Since we're mostly done shopping this year will be even better. Every year we have a New Year's party and enjoy having everyone over for that.

This year will be an especially joyful holiday for us because the whole family will be together.

I hope the wedding went well Brenda and that you are able to kick back a bit today to relax.

QOD: I think this year for the first time in a while I have enjoyed the holiday season more...

We got a fake tree last year and the only way I would agree is if we could set it up earlier. The weekend after Thanksgiving we spent it decorating the tree and house in a slow calm manner a bit at a time. No franzy of boxes and decorations and kids yelling to put this up and do that. It was so calm and nice. We had the kids youth group over on Friday evening and I was still not feeling great but was able to sit back and chat with other adults and just enjoy it. We have been doing shopping on and off, again no frenzied rush. Tomorrow we will begin wrapping while the kids are in school---hopefully they will have school:rotfl: !

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Question of the Day: Do you feel that you are able to enjoy the season?
Yes, for the most part. I try not to stress myself out too much. I limit the number of people I buy gifts for, I don't send Christmas cards, I turn down some party invitations that would not be enjoyable and I try to relax and enjoy as much as possible. I've never had a problem telling people "no", so I find that it's easy for me to give myself enough time to relax and enjoy doing the things that I like most with the people I really want to be with. Saying no to things you don't enjoy doing is one of the best stress reducing tactics out there. Not enough people do it. You just have to learn to do it w/o feeling guilty. The most stressful part of Christmas this year will be keeping my eating on track for weight loss and keeping up with my exercise. :santa:

Brenda-hope the wedding was wonderful! Relax and enjoy yourself now!

It has been a glorious couple of days filled with fun and FOOD!! I am having a hard time getting back on track. I have oodles of leftovers here. I have to start putting lots of stuff into the freezer soon.

Friday, the day of the wedding, was packed full of adventure. It was a really long day and things went well. The banquet hall seats 275 and they had RSVPs for about 290. I was worried about not enough seats but I think we were OK. DS and I danced to "You lift me up" by Josh Groban. I told him I wanted the short version. Other people joined us on the dance floor. It wasn't as traumatic as I feared it would be. DS made me cry as we danced and that's when the photographer took our picture. She has some of the pics posted at her website.

Photographs sure don't lie and they tell it like it really is. And those photos scream 'Brenda, you are really fat'. I am the only one that can change that. How long can I keep whining about it and not take any action? This weight is not going to go away overnight and it is not going to go away without some really really hard work. I need to get to work.

Today has not been as productive as I would have liked, but it has been relaxing. I read some newspapers and caught up on some TV. When DH got home from work we enjoyed some bedroom activity and left the bedroom door open. He just loves leaving the bedroom door open. It's just him and me now. The house is really quiet again.

I don't know when I will ever be with the three kids together again. In June when DDs baby is born I will travel to see them all, but they won't be all together. It would be nice to lose some weight before the trip next summer. Flying as a morbidly obese person is a nightmare. I usually sit by DH and encroach on his comfort. This trip he will probably not be joining me so I will have to sit next to a stranger. That will be a nightmare. Another nightmare is that DD has 39 steps up to her condo. I do not do steps very well.

I deserve to be happy and I am not happy with me right now. I know I have the ability to control my food choices. I know I need to exercise every day. I know I can make the needed changes to make my life what I want it to be.

Red Team thanks for keeping the thread going the past few days. I would like to hear about your healthy cooking though. Remember the weekly team challenge runs through midnight Wednesday. Every point counts and we really need your help.

Have a healthy day!

I'm doing what I can, but I already am fairly adventurous in cooking, etc. so I am finding this latest Challenge to be kind of hard. I won't have anywhere near the possible limit. I'll have to go hunt down the particulars and see how many points I will have.

QOTD - I don't know, Christmas-time seems melancholy to me. I miss people and pets who are no longer here. I miss lots of things. I guess I enjoy it, but...love decorating, hate putting away decorations. Love cooking, hate cleaning up. Love eating, HATE trying to lose weight. Etc., etc.

agnes!
