BL 3 - Red team week 10

Another thing, this challenge has helped me a lot. I do weigh ins at WW towards the end of the week, but knowing I weigh in here on Tuesday keeps me focused through the weekend.

Your total points for Weekly Team Challenge #6 need to be reported by 3 PM today Thursday. So far I only have 6 participants. YIKES!! If you are late go ahead and send them anyway. Remember EVERY POINT COUNTS and we really need you.

Attention Red Team
I have received the official announcement from Biggest Loser Central. This week is our week off from weekly team challenges. Since the week after next is Thanksgiving we will also have no challenge that week. So happy Thursday, no new weekly team challenge for two weeks. Enjoy the time off, get rested up and ready to rock the next challenge. Remember you have been issued a Red Team Challenge this week. If you don't know what I am taking about, check out my post #14 on page 1 of this thread. Get to work Red Team. I really am.

Red Team question of the day

This weeks challenge focused on quality time for yourself. What are your thoughts about this weeks challenge? Did you do any really fun things? Was 8 hours of sleep a good or bad thing? Tell about a special date. Who did you send a note to and why?

These are just a couple of questions to ponder. I don't expect you to answer them all. They are just some suggestions of things to share. And as always the question of the day is optional, please do not feel obligated to share things that you are not comfortable sharing. The question is designed to help us to get to know each other better and to get our team thread post count up. Thank stinking blue team is back in their groove and is surpassing us this week. I may have to make 99 posts a day here to get ahead, well maybe I would if I had no life.

As for todays QOTD (love that abbreviation) Me first. You know I have no self esteem. You know I believe that I am an evil person that is overweight to be punished for my evilness. You know I do not feel like I deserve to be happy. Yes, welcome to my warped mind. Anyway the concept of quality time for me is very foreign to me. I am a procrastinator so there is always something that needs to be done in the office, around the house, for church, for scouts, etc, on and on, forever and ever. I believe I also procrastinate to punish myself. With all these projects giving me a constant guilt trip I have a hard time stopping and actually taking quality time for me. I do watch too much TV but I feel that is a character flaw and not a reward for me. It makes me procrastinate more to avoid the things I need to do. My life is just one never ending cycle of craziness. No quality time for me.

Hey Michelle, I did exercise for 30 minutes yesterday. I did not even step out of the house all day long. I really need to get out today and will try to take a walk. I am getting a sore throat and am using that as an excuse not to walk because I do not want to get sick. I will just use any excuse not to take a walk, even though my tag daily reminds me I should be 'thinking that it is a wonderful time to be walking around the block'. I hope things are going well for you.

Well Red Team that is all for now. The guys with chainsaws are out in the yard cutting down trees. They have already managed to have a tree fall on and damage the neighbors fence. Yesterday they called in a real tree service to cut down 3 large trees near the fence to avoid another mishap. We have cars parked on the street and I hope we are not blocking anyones mailboxes. The mailman does not like to deliver your mail if he can not pull up right next to the mailbox. Anyway, it will be nice when this garage is done, I think.

How is your day going?

Have a healthy day!

Well team, I was able to contribute 35 points to the challenge this week!:cool1: ....with some points in each of the 5 catagories! The best one....SLEEP! Though I had to shut the poor cat out of the bedroom, as she thinks 7 hours is plenty of sleep. :cat:

Yesterday was my birthday, and there was a tiny bit of sugar involved, but my sister sent me a bouquet of fruit! A great gift and I have some beautiful strawberries and pineapple slices to hold me for several days! As a matter of fact, think I'll go have some right now!

Iboucetoo, the fruit bouquet sounds yummy!

I only had 25 points for the challenge this week. Bad timing - my appointment for mani/pedi is tomorrow! DS only goes to preschool on Friday mornings, so all my girlie stuff gets scheduled then and last Friday I had a hair appointment.

I did have fun with my one-on-one dates. DD and I read a few chapters of Little House on the Prairie. DS and I played Little People in his room. The kids really enjoyed getting some mommy time without having to share with each other.

Poor DD has viral bronchitus so we spent some more time at the doctor's office yesterday. Now she has an inhaler to use until we can get this cleared up. She's not allowed to go outside for recess or PE and she's heartbroken. Isn't it funny how we have to force ourselves to get out and exercise and kids can't get enough of running around?:confused3

As of this morning I'm down 8 lbs from when we started, not as much as I would like, but I am really excited that I might be changing that 5 lb Wish clippie to a 10 lb Wish clippie by the end of next week!

I do not know how the Black Team does it. They are few in numbers but they must really be losing big. I know this week if we all buckle down and work really hard we can pull the losses we need to get 1st place in the weekly weigh in. I am very proud of the team members that are continuing on this journey with us. I enjoy hearing from you each week. No apologies are ever needed. I am just happy to hear from you. I know we can do this.

Nice job with the challenge again Red Team. We are winning these challenges because we have more team members participating. I appreciate everyone making an effort to participate. Agnes! is just back from WDW. She was not able to weigh in this week but she did email her points to me. With her help and the help of the other 11 participants we won this week. See like I always say EVERY POINT COUNTS. All Red team members may proudly wear the weekly challenge winner clippie and we get it for three weeks since we have the next two weeks off from weekly challenges. Excellent! I enjoy looking at that clippie. We all have earned it Red Team!

Congratulations to our Biggest Losers and top weekly challenge scorers. I am very proud of you Red Team. Keep up the good work. We are losing and developing healthy habits. Remember you are challenged this week to give 100%. I know we can do it. I know we will eventually be the #1 team with weight loss. We just need to keep working hard and doing our best everyday.

RED TEAM ROCKS!!!

i made sure to send out a bunch of letters this week that had been a loooong time coming to some really old friends of mine. it kicked me in the butt to do it finally. so thank you challenge.

i haven't been around much this week, it's been so hectic for me with school stuff. i haven't gotten home until around 6 or so every night this week except monday (when i didn't go to work, i had a eye dr.s appt instead, yay for new glasses!). tomorrow is going to be another long day... i'm not used to this real life work schedule anymore! i don't know how i did it for the last 2 years and wasn't exhausted like i am now?!?! :confused3

I had unexpected company yesterday and by the time I was able to get away to post my challenge points the totals were posted already.

I did earn 40 points. I gave myself a much needed manicure and pedicure and I made sure to get 8 hours of sleep every night! I wrote letters to two of my Aunts and to my parents and I went on three dates!

Date 1 was shopping with only DD14, date 2 was lunch with DD14 and DGD4, and date #3 was a tea party with DGD4! I liked the "dates" and will continue having them, hopefully once a week. It made them feel special!

I didn't get to report in my points for the challenge this week. Unfortunately I probably didn't have many points to contribute anyways.

This has been an awful week mentally for me this week. My husband is traveling this week so I have been taking care of my kids without help and working full time. And then on Tuesday night, during my favorite show, Biggest Loser, my boss called me and yelled at me. (I am a nanny for 2 doctors, and the father has no clue what goes on in the house but yet he feels like he is in control) Apparently my boss was in a fight with his wife and decided to pull me into the mess and yell at me for something that wasn't even my fault. I have been in this job for 4 1/2 years and he tends to yell at me twice a year to the point where no one should yell at anyone. And so not only was my evening ruined but I had no one to talk to, to vent my frustration because my husband was on an airplane the entire night. So basically at work this week I have been walking on egg shells and my self esteem is at an all time low. So, I am not making excuses for not participating in the challenge, I have just been out of it the last few days.

On a good note, my weight is down again. Apparently I was holding onto some water weight for this week's weigh in because of TOM and it is gone and then some. So I will have a good loss this week. It looks like I am going to hit my Weight Watcher goal this week. Yay, I am at a healthy weight for the first time since I was 16!

holy smokes! i just noticed that your ticker says that you lost 88.2 lbs! that's amazing! it takes real dedication to do that and you should be very proud of yourself!! :cheer2:

as for the boss yelling at you. i went through that with my previous boss. i worked for her for 2 years before i went to grad school and they were the worst 2 years of my life. i got blamed for everything, she yelled at me and even once grabbed me (hard too!) for being snippy back. she would micromanage me to no end. she would call me into her office after she yelled at me and apologize. she did this every time so after the 2nd time it really had no meaning. i had terrible self esteem there too. i was doubting my abilities to get into grad school.

i did end up getting in and i know i can do it. i have a tough schedule right now, but i'm getting through it (even though i'm just an average student, but then again i've always been that). i have been in a new lab since the start of the semester and already my new boss tells me how great i am at doing things.

so don't feel like it's your fault if you know it isn't. just let him yell and tune him out.

Thanks for the supportive post. I hate having such a bad experience at work at this time of year as I question what I should do in terms of looking elsewhere, but then I think about Christmas and then my Marathon Vacation. Ugh, work is so stressful! Thank goodness for the weekend, I really need it to start, only a few minutes to go until "The Dragon" gets home. (My husband nicknamed my boss this a few years ago as a joke and boy has he lived up to the term....The nickname comes from All My Children for any fans out there)

Robin

 Me? I'm the biggest loser this week for the Red Team? That's so cool!! :cloud9:

Man what a big loser you are! Congratulations!:woohoo: :dance3:

Hitting WW goal is awesome! I have a LONG way to go before I get there. I'll be happy when I make it under to 200 pounds.

Hi Red Team! Hope everyone is having a healthy weekend! I ran my first race today in 10 years! I hadn't run one since I was in high school. It was an 8k (just under 5 miles - 4.96 miles) and I ran it in 42 minutes! I did much better than I expected! Running really brings my competitive spirit out and I forgot how much I enjoy racing. So, that's my good news for the day! :wizard:

BridgetGabbie-I'm sorry you've had such a tough week. It's always difficult to have your boss upset at you no matter how wrong they may be. Congrats though on your fantastic weight loss! You're an inspiration!

Have a great weekend!

Thanks for the congrats on the weight loss all! I did reach goal, yay! Now it's time for my personal goal.

Dizchick--congrats on the race! We did a 10 mile race this mornings, it was so much fun! I passed a lot of runners at the end so that made me feel great. My time was 1 hour 34 minutes and 55 seconds. Not too bad. But it was SOOOO cold this morning in Massachusetts!

Robin

Hey Red Team...Live from Philadelphia at a conference. Brenda I have been able to walk a lot to go to dinner and such. Today DD, 17, and I walked for over 2 hours...I am sore and swollen but it was not horrid because it is so flat here. I will NOT be able to send my weight until Wednesday morning when I am home. See ya and GO RED!:cheer2: :goodvibes

Hi everyone, still settling down from all those TOM issues I had this week. I hope next week will be better sorry I haven't been around.

Wow! That's awesome! I'd love to do a 10 mile race. There is a 15K coming up in January and a half marathon in March that I'm thinking about doing. I would love to do the Disney marathon in January 2009. I've always wanted to do a marathon and think now would be a good time given the training time involved (before marriage and kids).

I say almost anyone can do a marathon if you set your mind to it! I couldn't run a mile in April and my husband and I began our training specifically for the Disney Marathon. He wanted to run a marathon, I wanted to go to Disney, win win situation for us. We took the summer to build up a base of running 3 and 5 miles and we started training this fall. I am up to running 13 miles now and will run 15 this weekend. The 10 mile run was so fun as I knew I had a lot of steam left in me at the end and ended up with a great time. Oh and I have 2 young kids, so you don't ever have to let that get in the way, we just take turns running.
