My personal opinion, Vija, is don't worry about WI! Oh Mom can handle it & I doubt that anyone will have issues with it. Enjoy your family & your trip!!

My life has been chaos (but normal chaos) since returning from FL. Slowly getting back to normal after all the DD problems.

Monday is DH birthday .....49 ...for real!!! But since I don't know any kids work schedules, we're going to celebrate tomorrow. I'm buying Carrot Cake which he loves & I HATE!!!! Purposely filled my freezer with Lean Cuisine & Marie Calendar Meals (on sale for quick dinners when kids work) so I don't have room for an ice cream cake!!!

I still haven't stepped on a scale since FL. I ate much differently there, so hope I didn't do too much damage.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

 Hi again

i'm back, my walk did not go well today, i have been struggling with shin splints for 4-5 days and omgosh i couldn't even finish. i'm really down about it, i have never had to quit a walk early, but next sunday is the 1/2 and i didn't think pushing it in pain was the right move.

so here i sit icing them down and getting ready to search on shin splints, but i wanted to post the new authors i got at the library to see if anyone is familiar with them? Faye Kellerman (Stalker) Alexander McCall Smith (The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency) and Ed McBain (There Was a Little Girl)

and CYBER HIGH FIVE BECKA!!!! WTG!!!

ohMom, sorry about the shin splints, I hope you are feeling better for your 1/2.

Vija, I would also say that it is fine to report the wi to ohMom. I hope you have a great vacation!! Less than a month now for me:woohoo:

Well, it looks the rain has hit Northern California and plans to stay around awhile. This is great because we really need the rain but it puts a damper on my daily exercise routine. I usually go for a 30 min walk before work because i have the time between droping kids of at school and starting work. But if the rain continue I am not sure what I will do. I guess I could do laps around the warehouse. ARGH!! This on top of covering shifts at the Ale House is really making things difficult. I know I will figure something out but I don't like having my routines messed with.

I hate it when the elements interfere!! Question - where in Northern California do you live? I am going to be in Fort Bragg for 3 weeks in the end of Jan/Early Feb - wondering just how COLD it will be. How much shopping do I need to do?

OhMom, how old (More importantly how many miles) are on your shoes. Shin splints are one of my indicators that it is time for new shoes. I recommend going to a running store for a proper fit. It is an excuse for shopping.

Vija, I have no issues giving my numbers to OhMom. I think she's trustworthy.;) Enjoy your vacation, and don't worry about us.

Have an awsome weekend people.
Beth

For the record, I have no problem sending my weigh-in info to ohMom either :)

Congrats to the new clippie owners!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

/
I agree with you guys, OhMom is very trustworthy, and a super sweetie!!!:goodvibes Wow, so many of us are getting new clippies! That is a reason to celebrate!:dance3:

OhMom, I have to say that I miss not having a challenge this week. It was a good way to put some focus on the week. Can't wait for the next challenge!

I have been doing OK. Work was crazy busy again. I did some stress eating today:sad2: BUT I did ask DH yesterday if he would cook something so I wouldn't eat fast food for dinner on the way home and he made some yummy steak sandwhices! YUMMM!

I am off to bed soon, I have to admit I have a guilty pleasure.... I love watching CMT's Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders Making the team, I taped it and can't wait to watch the new episode!:cheer2:

Have a great night everyone!

You will deffiently want long pants and sweatshirts. Expect lows in the 30's and high's in the 50's.

Oh...I have that guilty pleasure too! I tivo it also and at first my DH made fun of me, but then I caught him staying in the bedroom longer and longer finding "reasons" to be in there while I was watching.....Busted!!! I thought it was so crazy when they told that one girl that she was "thick" in the middle and that she just didn't have time to lose the weight.....I would take her "thick" in the middle anyday!!!

Glad to know I have some company in my guilty pleasures also...I also like the show "I wanna look like a high school cheerleader". Not because I think it is an emmy winning show or anything....It definently is a "biggest Loser wannabe!" I like anything with weight loss and drama!!
Kinda sounds like MY life!!!

Vija-I am just fine with sending ohMom my weigh in. And I too have watched the Cowboys cheerleader show a time or two!:happytv: Yeah, I'd like to be "thick in the middle" like them LOL:rotfl2:

I made something new for dinner last night. DH had seen one of those frozen meals in a bag (which are expensive for what you get and loaded with stuff you don't want). But I did whole wheat penne with some sauteed garlic and onion and broccoli and chicken. Tossed it with a little olive oil. It was a little bland at first, but added some spices and it was really tasty. And a great way to get DH to eat a veggie besides corn :goodvibes I made enough for us to have it again today or tomorrow. Trying to experiment with some new recipes and find things that are easy to make and everyone will eat PLUS are low in points.

I am really determined to get my new clippie in the next week. I am only 3 lbs away as of this am.

Keep up the good work everyone-lets make it a 3-peat and win another week!!!

luckywife - about the skin question...I've been wondering about this also. I know I have sooo much weight to lose, and having had three kids, etc., my skin will never be th same. Of course I know I should start doing some core strength training to help with it, but I'm afraid it just will never be the same. My DH always says that if it's too bad, we can always look into having something done about it (plastic surgery). But that all depends on if insurance would cover it. So anyway, I'm not much help, but just wanted to say, I understand!

Vija - I'll echo what others have said, go off and have fun!:cool1: No problem PMing numbers to ohMom.

disneychrista - I hear you on the routine upheaval! Not rain here, but just the fact that I start work so early that my morning walk has to start at 5:30am at the latest, so with the daylight getting shorter, it's pitch black in the mornings now. I saw your photos BTW...wow! You are definitely an inspiration!:goodvibes

Well, my week was great as far as eating goes. Some temptations (another cake to make this week), but overcame all of them.

Then DH's mom came up yesterday, so DH and I could have a date night. It was great spending time together without the boys, as we only get to do this a couple times a year, but it was so difficult with the eating.

One of my main focuses right now is trying to get my head around the fact that I don't need food to celebrate everything! DH and I have both always done this, and I grew up this way, so it's been a really difficult habit to break. A few of the things that has helped is instead of going out, DH will go by the grocery and get something nicer for dinner than what was planned (salmon instead of the tilapia, etc), and it has really helped. And I have been able to make better choices when we do actually go out, though I must say, it is a lot harder. Sometimes I get so upset because I couldn't get what I actually "wanted" (the high fat/calorie stuff), but in the end when I see the number on the scale, I'm happy with my choices.

So when we went out last night, it was very difficult. We had Chinese food, and while I'm sure what we ordered wasn't the best thing for us, I didn't eat nearly as much as I would have in the past. Then we went to the outlet mall and DH wanted a candied apple. So we got that and I had a couple of slices. And then the kicker. We went to a movie. And had popcorn. With butter.:confused3 I know it was probably the worst choice I made last night, but it happened. So I just had to weigh this morning to see how much damage was done.

Now I knew I probably wouldn't have a big loss if any this week after having the 5.6 last week, but I really have my work cut out for me in the next couple of days before weigh-in Tuesday morning.:scared:
But we had a great date!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and stayed OP better than I did!

hi ladies :upsidedow i'm here b/c i felt like grazing and i need to NOT graze!!

ok --shin splint update -- MIdancemom thank you for the input, i can tell you that when i first started the training for this 1/2 i was not happy with my shoes, toughed it out a little then ended up at NB store to get refitted, that was about 4-5 weeks ago so i don't think it's the shoes. what i do think it is, is since i have my new toy (Garmin) i have been powerwalking intervals and keeping an eye on my pace and worked up to a faster pace over the past 6-8 weeks. the past LW were 8 miles-11 miles-8 miles and i think that pushed it over the edge with the speed increasing. TMI? sorry :rolleyes1

but here is the good news -- this morning I walked in the non-competitive Making Strides for Breast Cancer with some co-workers (corporate sponsored so free, i'm there) and anyhow, my co-workers today included our medical director (physician) and physical therapist :teeth: So i told them my situation and my favoritest doctor said I needed PT tomorrow including heat and massage. :woohoo: i'm there :teeth: the PT gal gave me some tips to work it through and told me she'd have me good to go for next sunday. also, i'm going to do all my walking workouts on the elliptical this week too. I bought 2 compression wraps for shins and wore them, I found online to RICE (rest, ice, compress, elevate) so send :tinker: to me this week for a quick recovery!!

you all continue to inspire me so much with your awareness and choices in what you eat. i did ok this week, as always could've been better. there was no alcohol, went to a bonfire last night and didn't eat anything there (it was late), today we went to Spaghetti Warehouse after the walk and I got soup/salad; but i have had too much food i'm sure including 2 cookies for Whole Foods, doritos, ice cream and some other stuff.

good think we'll get another challenge on tuesday night!! LOL

ok girls -- let's get focused for our WI in just over 1 day!!

Oh, I am so happy I have company watching the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders!:goodvibes :happytv: that comment about being thick in the middle... oiii, crazy! I would take that too in a heart beat! I have seen bits and pieces of the I want to look like a cheerleader again, Here's a little tidbit you didn't know about me... I was a cheerleader in HS.... Yes, It's true! and I loved it! :cheer2: sure wish I looked like that again too! DisneyMomTwins, funny about your DH... mine is right there too watching with me!!!!

VernRdh, love your new dinner info! That was great. And I LOVE your determination to get that new clippie! Can you share some of that determination with me? :upsidedow

Geekerbell, I completely get what you are saying about food...
One of my main focuses right now is trying to get my head around the fact that I don't need food to celebrate everything!
And not just celebrating, but the patterns I have gotten into. Like watching a movie and eating chips, etc. Good for you on making some healthy choices. It will take time to get to all the healthy choices most of the time, so celebrate the good choices you made and try to learn from the others. I LOVE movie theatre popcorn too... and guess what I am going to a movie tomorrow, and I know wHat I will be eating some!popcorn:: but I figure I rarely go out to movies, and a little popcorn is ok.

OhMom, sending the pixie dust to you and hope you feel better. Kind of cool that you get some massaging tomorrow!:woohoo: and I am soooo thankfull we have another food challenge, I am sooo there!

I did not make the greatest of choices this week. I hope to do better next week. A small update on the baby front. My DSis was induced on Saturday at 34 weeks, but apparently the Pitocin didn't work. They tried again today but no go. So they decided that they will wait till Friday and then they will try again. It will be another long week for her in the hospital.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Vija-I will gladly share my determination with you, as I get it from others here!!! I too was a cheerleader in HS (some 20+ years ago) and would LOVE to have that body back! But alas, years, wisdom and motherhood have made me a different person, and I will have a great body one day, but not that one. (something close would be nice, but we'll see!)

Movie theatre popcorn popcorn:: nothing like it!! Last time I went to the movies though, it did nothing for me. But I love good microwave popcorn with real butter on it :rolleyes1

Will keep your DSis and the baby in my prayers. Hoping everything is all right with both mom and baby.

Looking forward to WI on Tuesday, hoping to be that much closer to my new clippie!!

I went to brush my hair this morning and when I raised my hand to brush - OUCH!! A sharp pain in my upper back. Makes no sense, as I wasn't doing anything to cause this but it happened anyway. I can't really reach, bend, etc. After taking a high dose of advil I am able to walk and sit with out much pain but I am not looking forward to trying to lie down.

Good Monday morning my teamie friends !

Well - my eating was a true disaster this weekend - yesterday I did much better but it was not totally back OP BUT

TODAY - I just tm'd 2 miles and already drank a BIG glass of H20 and I will be back TOTALLY today to my plan!

I am just hoping for a maintaining number tomorrow - but it will be what it is - a reflection of what has gone into the bod - I will NOT be discouraged BECAUSE I have you guys

I will be looking forward to a challenge too - I think it helps me stay focused. Maybe it will include something that says I commit to no sugar - I need to get desugarized again ....................

Well - here's to a good week for all!

Disneychrista - hope you are better - what a bummer

Geekerbell - I read your post yesterday and I just want to say - what a great way to get kicked in the butt (my words - you actually said "here is the kicker" popcorn:: ) A date with your DH and it was life - your attitude was (IMHO) just where it needed to be - you did and now you are back on target!

Other teamies - hang in there - kudos to all who have been OP and :wizard: to those of us who need to get back on track!!!

Good Morning Blue Team,

I must be doing something right. I was able to button comfortably a pair of size 10 jeans today! :cool1: I must be losing inches because I'm not seeing much as far as lbs go.

Talk to you all soon.

Sabrina

Hey Blue Team!

I have to share my good news with all of you. I cleaned out my closets yesterday and got rid of all my clothes that are way too big! Then I pulled out clothes that I had packed away because they didn't fit. Well they finally fit! :cool1: I am so excited! I haven't wore some of these things in years.

Vija - I am fine with giving Ohmom my WI. Have a wonderful trip! I will keep your Dsis and baby in my prayers. :flower3:

Ohmom & DisneyChrista pixiedust: to you both. I hope you are both feeling better soon!

Sabrina :cool1: Size 10! You go girl! That is awesome!

I hope everyone has a great week!

Good luck with tomorrow's WI! :cheer2:

Michele
