:thumbsup2 Ditto what Princess V said - awesome job everyone! :thumbsup2

Vern- I'm going to look for that! My dh isn't going to be brining it home, I'm sure, but I'm heading for Wal-Mart after I eat and I'm going to look for it. What a thoughtful hubby you have!

Vij - thanks for the tips about walking, I haven't heard that. I can never seem to get a stretch for my shins, and I also get a bad pain on the side of my leg. I'm going to try 10 minutes on the treadmill today. DD has made me promise to go for a 2.2 mile bikeride with her after school today too - that seems short when it comes to excercise but it has to be good, right?

Pluots are tasty!! :cheer2: I like them better than plums. I have eaten lots of different fruits and I'm not sure about finding a new one to try but veggies...different story!

I have a recipe for butternut squash "fries" from the BL recipe book that I'm making this week :sad2: Also doing the fish tacos...anyone had those? I've heard they're all the rage in California.

hi everyone again :yay:

NEW PAGE REMINDER --- TEAM CHALLENGE THIS WEEK IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT READ HERE -- NOT TOO LATE!!

i left some unanswered questions :upsidedow from our fearless leader

first off -- cooking pork in my crockpot (last week) I really don't think i added any liquid, I was cooking these really thick sliced boneless ribs. sometimes i think adding liquid makes the meat fall apart. I scanned on the crockpot website b/c i didn't want to tell you something and then you ruin dinner :scared: according to the crockpot manuals, add liquid for roasts and stews. but then it said you can cook a roast without liquid, only on low. if you just can't stand it, put in a small amount of chicken broth

sewing -- i'm not really a seamstress, i just pretend to be. i have only ever made a couple of patterned items and it didn't go so well. i have patterns to make porch duck outfits and i can't bring myself to even try those! mainly i fix tears, hem pants, set buttons back on, sew GS patches on, that kind of stuff. i dabble in some appliqueing and that's fun too. i'm in awe of your making HP costumes!! :thumbsup2

slk -- 10% gone forever!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

becka -- you gotta pick up more than one item to complete the new fruit/veggie task -- it's 2 new to you :thumbsup2 and GREAT JOB on the exercising instead of caving :rolleyes2......I will remember you and you will be my inspiration b/c you did it then so can I

jen -- wait i missed your walking woes.....are things better? do you have GOOD REALLY GOOD running shoes? i get shin splints too and i just bought new shoes b/c i had cheap one and i was paying the price. then....have you ever heard of Biofreeze? it's great -- you rub on your painful spots and it just carries those stinging nagging pains away.....like magic. well its just about that good. i  fish tacos! does it have cabbage in it? i like that combo. let us know how the squash fries are!

i don't really have anything new to say :upsidedow i'm just procrastinating and WISH is my homepage so i have to check on my team! back to chores!

Hi Everyone! I am so EXCITED to be joining you on this journey!!

Thanks for welcoming me at this late date....
I have a wonderful husband and twin DS's age 9. I am a SAHM who really is never at home...:confused3 I am so excited about the encouragement and support this offers!
Over a year ago, I lost about 75 lbs on a liquid diet, and OF COURSE the minute I decided to eat again...30 pounds came right back on. I had never actually reached my goal weight, but was pretty close.
Now, I am on WW. I have been doing it for nearly a month, but I seem to keep gaining and losing the same 5 lbs.
I would like to lose around 45lbs. We are going on our first DCL next October with some friends and I would love to reach goal before then.

I am so encouraged by some of the weight loss numbers I am reading here. I hope to really get "cranking" and put up numbers like those!

Thanks again for the welcome, and I look forward to getting to "know" you guys better!
GO BLUE!!!!:yay:

Princess VIJA....I can't seem to reply to your PM to give you my starting weight.....It gives me an error message that my post count is too low.....

Am I doing something wrong????

Thanks!

OhMom, Biofreze? I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the info on the crock pot, I'll have to check it out! DH loves pork and that might be a great way to make it.

DisneyMomTwins, WELCOME!!! Glad to see you joining us! You are going to LOVE your DCL cruise! I have been on 2 and I want to go again..and again... and again...!:goodvibes My kids love DCL better than the parks. Are you going on an Eastern or Western cruise? Have fun! As far as contacting me, you need a certain post count before you can, I don't know how many that is, but in the mean time you can emai me at vng1@charter.net.

Have a losing day everyone!

Hey, I am going to go over to the black team thread to congratulate them, anyone want to join me and show them that Blue team is a positive, supportive team???

Have a losing day blue team losers!:jumping3:

I'm going to get me some of that there Biofreeze ;) Seriously - DD cheers :cheer2: and gets muscle pains all the time, icyhot has been the best we found and I haven't heard of or tried that Biofreeze, I'm going to look for it. Thanks for the tip! I probably should try a new pair of shoes...I would love to try those z-coils someone posted about but there's no place around here (Indy). I thought running shoes were just for running? Am I being too literal?

Welcome DisneyMomTwins!! :cutie:

Congrats Auntimo3 - awesome week!!

/
GREAT JOB TEAM ON THE WEIGH IN!! wow 100 lbs gone already!! forever!!

ok, i'll admit i'm not sure where you buy biofreeze, my Mom bought it at the WDW marathon expo, and i'm fortunate enough that the medical office I work keeps samples and i just dip into that :teeth: if you have trouble though let me know and i'll ask at work

and i always always 'powerwalk' in running shoes. walking shoes just aren't supportive enough. to me that are for like walking around the mall....not cardio walking

ohMom - just bought some bioFreeze through amazon...the reviews on there were fantastic! I think this will work for dd and me, and I might even get some for my mom - she suffers from terrible knee pain and can't get any relief. Thanks so much!!:thanks: :ewok:

Hi all-

I finally got to watch the show:happytv: I love  Bob, but I need a Jillian in my life (beatings, beatings, beatings) I kinda feel for the black team, like they were the underdogs and you really want them to succeed (does this make me a traitor?) But I love blue teams spirit, and that Jerry-62 years young and getting it done. WOW.

The girls on the red team don't seem motivated to succeed. I wasn't disappointed to see Lezlye leave, and I think Amy is the next one from that team to go should they lose another WI.

It motivates me to do more or better after I have watched the show. I tried doing the plank exercise OMG what a burn!!! And this morning I started with some lunges with weights before I ran. Trying to mix up my exercise and start things moving in the right direction again.

Happy Friday to everyone and remember to keep on track on the weekend-it is 28% of your week!!!

Hi everyone...

*ugh* I am not happy! I'm up 3 pounds! :sad1: I ate a LOT of greasy, disgusting french fries and a meatball sandwich the other night and it feels like a lead brick moving through my intestines :guilty: I can't believe I screwed up like this, I am so mad at myself. Also, I am out of low-sodium V8 juice so I haven't been drinking that in the morning so I've been drinking coffee instead and I think that's contributing to this too. Arg...sorry...I needed to vent and cry on someone's shoulder :sad1:

 Terry:hug: I know the feeling. But it is a very minor setback and a good learning experience as well. Now you will remember the yucky feeling and not want to do it again!!! I have strong memories of meals that made me feel absolutely disgusting afterward and when faced with eating them again, I think back to how terrible I felt and make a different choice.

You are human and all humans make mistakes. Its in the past, forget about it, move on. Get back on plan and keep moving forward. And you probably are not really 3 pounds heavier, but with all the sodium and the fact that your "lead brick" isn't moving, thats whats up. This too shall pass  And won't you feel better once it does?:lmao:

LYMI,

Veronica

PS. Jamie and I booked another cruise:banana:  We are doing the Sovereign 3 night in January just him and I!! I am so excited. I really want to be at 140 by then, so I need to drop 32 lbs in 16 weeks!!!

Seaspray...it's over...let go of it. Hard to do I know but you have to focus on today. :hippie: Like Vern so wisely said...it will pass. And your 3 pounds will go away. Stop at the store and buy your low-sodium v-8 juice today, just run in and burn some extra calories and grab it! That will make sure your routine stays on track and help you throughout the day. ( BTW -why were you weighing in the middle of the week?:scared1: ) Drink lots of water and flush yourself (and your greasy fries and meatballs) out! If you love meatball subs I have a recipe I'm trying next week from the BL cookbook -it's for a meatball sub, meatballs are made out of chicken. DH actually chose it and he's not a fowl fan! I'll let you know how it is. But you can always have that and some oven baked fries...

Okay I've rambled on...today's a new day with new choices! :flower3:

Hi Blue Team,

Yesterday wasn't that great of a day for me. I have confirmed that my 24 yr old brother's wife is pregnant with a second child that they definately cannot afford. The sad part is he hasn't had the nerve to tell any of his side of the family yet. I found out on myspace. Don't get me wrong I love babies but it's just a really stupid decision for them right now.

But the good news is I didn't emotional eat. I also didn't get my walk in yesterday. But I am going to let everything go and start new today.

Talk to you soon.

:grouphug: I am sorry you are feeling so down. Try not to let this impact what you do today. Remember yesterday is done and there is nothing you can do to change it. What you can change is today. Don't look back and just focus on what you can do today to meet your goals. Just pick one thing like drinking your water and don't let anything get in the way of you meeting that goal today. Meeting a goal will make you feel better about your ability to do this. :)

Yesterday was a good day for me. I was really busy since I had to run errands over lunch and then had K curriculum night at DS's school in the evening. It was one of those days where in the past it would have meant two big fast food meals eaten on the run.

During lunch yesterday I actually ended up shopping a little and bought some new black slacks and two new shirts for work. The pants were a size 18!!! Now I know that is huge to most of you but I have not been below 20 in a very long time so this was a big deal for me. DH was shocked when I told him what size I was able to get. He really seemed proud of me and darn it I am a bit proud of myself as well.

Then afterwards even though it was not the easiest or quickest choice I decided to go to Subway for lunch so I would not lose out on the BL goal of no fast food. :) It was a very nice lunch that filled me up but didn't leave me feeling guilty.

I have been craving Chinese for months and I have not had it since May. I was really afraid to order it because it was one of those danger foods for me that I just eat way too much of. Since I had been starting to obsess over it I figured that I needed to plan it in and figure out a way to eat some before I had a really bad day and binged on it. I looked at calories and what I had left for the day in my calorie range and then went by the Chinese place to pick some up before I went home. DH's reaction when I walked in the door was "You got Chinese! :sad2:" and he had a bit of a disappointed look on his face until I explained to him that I just got some hunan chicken and fried rice in much smaller portions than I normally order and that the first thing I was going to do was to portion it out and put away any leftovers. That is exactly what I did. I think it ended up being about 950 calories so it was not a low cal meal but it fed the craving so I think it was a good decision and I actually have some leftovers for lunch today as well. :) I have come to the realization that if I am going to continue to live like this long term then I just have to figure out ways to let myself enjoy foods I love but I have to plan them in (no emotional eating), cut back on portions and find alternatives when necessary. It can't be a weekly meal but maybe once every couple of months is really all I need.

Hello to everyone - I have had two great days and discovered a trick. If I go to the scrapbooking store all day and work on a project, I can only eat what I bring with me. So as long as I have good resolve in the morning and pack well, it is almost a guaranteed good day.

I haven't weighted myself as promised and it ISN'T EASY.

Have a great weekend everybody!!

Sasha

Hey Blue TeamI have a question!

After 3 weeks of walking and wearing the same shoes each time (I have had them for over a year now) I got a blister ( i think) on the back of my ankle yesterday. So when I walked today I put a heavy duty band aid over it and then wore my socks (like always) well the band aid came off after walking only one mile:mad: , but I pushed on and walked another mile (in pain) when I got home and checked I had blood on my sock.
So on to my question....is there anything that I can use to cover up the blister type area while I walk until it heals?
Thanks in adavance for your input!

Band-Aid makes these great blister block things that will work. They won't slip like band-aids and give some cushioning. I use them whenever we go to WDW to prevent blisters. I just get mine at Wal-Mart so I would imagine any place like that would have them. :) They are a bit expensive so you could also try moleskin if you want something cheaper. It doesn't work as well but if you are just using it for your walk and not all day like at WDW it might be a good option for you.

The thing a lot of people here use for blisters is called Mole Skin. I havne't tried it myself. Luckily I am not prone to blisters. So I have no experience with it but others R A V E about it.
