Bizarre TownCar Question - Help!!!

Eight of us will be going to WDW next March for an 8 day stay, except for my 78 yr. old mother who will return after 4 days. She's a little concerned about finding her way through security to her gate at MCO. We're using a TownCar for the first time. Normally, I'd have a rental in which I could take her to MCO and accompany her to her gate then drive back to WDW. Now, I'll need to get her and me to MCO and then get me back to WDW. My qusrtion is, would any of the TownCar companies give us a RT from WDW to MCO and wait for me as I take mom to her gate? It seems to me that this is the same thing as a grocery store stop and should take no longer. Any info on this or other suggestions would be appreciated.

It will take alot longer than 20 minutes to get mom and you out of car, check luggage and get to the gate. You would need to get a special pass to accompany her to the gate. Unless you are a ticketed passenger you are not allowed on the concourse past security without special written permission (pass). You may want to just consider renting a car because now you would need to book two roundtrips in a towncar.

I've already looked into getting a medical pass to get me through security and we'll be bringing her luggage home with us so there'll be nothing to check. If the TownCar idea doesn't fly, my fall-back position is two separate cab rides. I understand MCO-WDW is about $35, so 2 of those plus tips will equal a RT TownCar, more or less.

You will still probably need to stand in the regular ticket counter line to get the pass to get through security so you could be in a for a lengthy wait. If you book a round trip towncar then you can take as long as you want getting you mother in because you are paying for a roundtrip and they won't be running the clock like a grocery stop. I thought you were trying to pay for a one way town car rental but get a roundtrip out of it.

Thanks for the advice. It didn't occur to me that they'd wait for me at MCO as part of a RT booking. I just want mom to have a full day, get her safely to her gate, then get my butt back to WDW in time for the evening activities, probably PI.

I would just call the town car service and explain the scenario. You may not have the same driver on the way back but I am sure they can accomodate you and get you back timely.

Bill, WDW to MCO by cab is closer to $50. It's $15 from BW to GF, before tip, with no traffic!

Additionally, even with no luggage you'll stiull need to stand in line to get the pass, get through security, and to the gate, then back again. I'd allow a minimum of an hour.

Renting a car for a day sounds like it might be a much better option for you. It would also give you the opportunity to stop for any grocery type items you might need mid-trip.

I paid 48.50 for a cab from CSR to MCO. Why not rent a car onsite for a day so you can do your running back and forth to the airport?
