What a mixture of a day! Don't know whether to say congratulations to you or commiserations to your DH. . . . but I can say that I hope you have a great trip. Hopefully a bit of Florida sunshine and some fun at WDW will work their magic and you'll have a great time anyway.

i hope you have a great holiday despite what has happened you never know some of disneys magic may well rub off on you for when you get home :wizard:

Sending extra special pixie dust,have a magical holiday and forget about everything whilst your out there..:wizard: {:hug: }

Congratulations and commiserations. I know both the joy of getting a new job and misery of losing an existing one.

On the bright side though, your DH will be in the best place I can think of to come to terms with the bad news.

Best wishes to you both

Oh you poor things....try not to let it spoil the most 'Magical' place in the world. Have a wonderful time.

:wizard: For your dh when he gets back and starts job hunting. :wizard:

:wizard: I hope you have a really wonderful time, and your DH is able to forget his worries for a bit...

My DH was made redundant 8 years ago. At first, we worried about how we were going to pay the mortgage and bills, etc, especially as I was not working due to our DD being a toddler. Anyway, DH and a couple of his colleagues set up on their own, things have gone from strength to strength and we haven't looked back! So, what seems bad at the time can often be for the best!
Main thing is, go and enjoy your holiday and have a great time, and sort the job situation out when you get back - who knows, he may get a job out there as Mickey's apprentice!
Good luck!:tinker:

I know how it feels - my DH was also made redundant before we went away one year - we just enjoyed the holiday - thinking it may be a while before we went again!

Glad to say he did start work again!!

Congratulations on your job offer and really sorry to hear about the bad news your DH had.

Try to enjoy your holiday, worrying about what is out of your control wont make it any better (note to self: remember to take this advise :rotfl2: ).

Have a great time :thumbsup2

Havinng been made redundant a few years ago I can understand its a painful experience. Lots of uncertainty about whats going to happen what the next steps are etc. However it does make you stronger and changes your outlook.

I had a lot of friends go through it as well - and its safe to say that we all survived - at the end of the day it was just change. Some stayed in our industry and did the same thing, some changed slightly, some set up their own businesses, some realised that what they were doing was not what they wanted to do anyway and went and did something completely different.

At the end of the day uncertainty can be a good thing - it means possibilities are open and hopefully DH will return from holiday refreshed and with a plan !

Having been made redundant 4 times in 5 years (the last time 3 weeks before Christmas) I know how your husband is feeling. The first 3 times i got straight into another job but the last I was out of work for 6 months. I would have killed for a holiday when i was made redundant, a break will give him a chance to focus his mind properly when he gets back home. I travelled to all parts of the country just to stay in work and when i was made redundant the last time I rethought my objectives and eventually after 6 months got a job just down the road. Pay wasn't as good but I feel far happier and more relaxed (don't think DW agrees) than I have been in a long time.
I'm sure something will turn up for your DH soon, have a fabulous holiday and hope that everything works out for the both of you in the future.

I'm so sorry to hear this. My DH was made redundant a couple of days before our first time to WDW back in 1992 so I kinda know how you feel. He was shell-shocked at the time but we went away, had a great holiday plus he came back raring to go out and get himself another job! TBH it was such an active holiday there wasn't much time for introspection and worrying. So I'm crossing my fingers that it doesn't spoil your holiday...
