Biting Flies...Reconsider trip?

We were at FW late June last year and had no problems AT ALL with bugs. Well, as I recall my husband was bitten one time by something, but he only complained at the moment he was bitten (we were waiting for a bus) and never mentioned it again.

I was very pleasantly surprised that there was no problem with bugs. Perhaps they are active in certain loops/areas and not others?

Just got back, stayed in the 100 loop. We were there for 11 days, I received 4 bites total. 2 of which I received on the Jungle Cruise in the Magic Kingdom. My daughter had a couple of bites, my husband had none. Used Citronella candles, seemed to help alot. Didn't see alot of flys just a few here and there. Didn't see that they were a big problem.
