I read about using Brita water bottles on Dis and I could not find any around my home (Maine). I finally found some in the hardware department in Walmart. They are about $7.00 for the bottle with a filter and then replacement filters are about $3.50-$4. This is something that I will getting for the whole family for our vacation to WDW in December. Just thought that I would pass that on.

Cant wait to go!!! I read the DIS boards everyday and I am amazed that I learn something new each time. Thanks everyone!!:wave2:

I bought 2 Brita water bottles at WalMart, but they're too big for the fanny packs. What do you put the Brita Bottles in?

We found some bottle wraps at Walmart(hanging on an endcap)
they don't cover the whole bottle just 3/4 of it,but enough. They have a clipp on the side to hook on a fannypack or belt loop. We won't be carrying them full, too heavy with water in them! We'll fill them as we need water.

If you have a Bed Bath & Beyond in your area, they also carry them. The bottles were $6.95 each and the filters were $4.99. I used a 20% off coupon for each and saved a little more.

Stop and Shop (in the Summer aisle) and Walgreens also have bottle wraps for water bottles and they fit the Brita bottle very well. They have a strap to put them on a fannypack.

I just found them this past Saturday at K-Mart on sale for 4.00.
Great deal !!!!!!
Now I will check out Stop and Shop for the bottle wraps.
Thanks for the info.

Wow I will have to go to K mart and also Bed and Bath....and see what I can do for a bargin! My kids, dd 8y and ds 11yr-while we are at Disney, will not keep a full water bottle anyway so that wont be a problem. My dh is the one that like to drink the Brita water so he will have to worry about the weight of it:)

We are not going until Christmas but I am really starting to get excited. I keep checking on new things on the DIS and to make sure that I take what I should and not over pack too. Only there for a week, this time!!

Thanks for the info.

I just went grocery shopping and decided to buy another one; this time I bought LIME GREEN!!!

You can find back packs that have mesh pockets on the side to hold water bottles. We have one that works great!

Does it fit the Brita bottles? Ours have the mesh pockets, but the Brita bottles are too big for them.

I have also seen and heard from other people that they sell at WDW bottle holders. Not sure if they would fit the Brita bottles or not. I think they fit the Poland Spring water bottles good though. I am sure that they are more expensive at WDW than at Walmart or some place like that.

Mine fits just fine. Maybe if you go to buy a back pack you can bring the bottle along for a test fit. Good luck!

OH, I just realized you wrote back packs- we have fanny packs - I didn't want to lug a back pack around. But, I'm reconsidering that - are there places at all the rides to leave it?

I have never been to Disney so I don't know. We bring our bags with us to Sesame Place in PA, which is a small theme park, and I just leave it by the enterance of the ride. There are usually lots of strollers and bags and I never had a problem. Maybe someone who has been to Disney would have better advice.
:D

We take a backpack but it is a very small one. It was the perfect size for carrying around and taking on rides. I prefer it to a fanny pack...

I found the Brita bottles at Walmart in Stratford Connecticut today, but I bought the last 5 they had for 6.97 each. Now I'm looking for strap or something to hold them.
Thanks for the idea!

Just wanted to say that if you have a Meijer near you to check the clearance aisle. I need one more bottle and it looks like they are not stocking them right now - moving in some newer Brita merchandise. I did pass by the clearance aisle though and found the filters marked down to $1.00 each! I bought 6 but now I'm thinking that for $1.00 each I should go back and grab all the rest. ::yes::

We got a mesh bottle bag from REI (camping supply store) that will hold a Brita bottle very well. It's on a long strap that you can wear diagonally across your body. I haven't gotten it out yet for our next trip, but...IIRC it even has room for a poncho or something else of that size. Last time we filled it with several regular throw-away water bottles each day (we were living it up at Poly concierge !) and then when they were gone, we just rolled it up and stuck it in a fanny pack.

I l-o-o-v-e my Brita bottle -- it's what I use every day at home !

The bottle straps that they sell at Disney fit the Brita water bottle. My husband uses this but I think itis heavy. I usually have mine in the stroller cup holder. We use our bottles all the time, even at home!

I'm glad to hear the straps at Disney fit the Brita bottles. I'll just get them there.

Thanks!
