Bit the bullet...bought an AP, now question?

So, I bought the AP today and now can't figure out how to log into the AP site. When I asked the agent who sold me the ticket, he said that it can't be done without an active AP :scared1:

I know someone here will know how to do it, so...do I have to wait for the voucher to arrive? Is there another way to log in to see what's available online for AP?

I guess I am well and truly a Disney junkie, I'm even card-carrying to boot!:cool1:

You do need numbers from the AP or voucher to access the site. I only went on with an active AP. You may have numbers on your receipt that you can use. I'm not sure. I guess you don't receive the voucher when you purchase it or did you do it on line? I have never done this but my son is thinking about doing it before he goes. Thanks

I was given a confirmation number for the order, and the voucher will show up in 7-10days :headache: , so I guess I don't get to look for rooms for a full week...great...by then they should all be sufficiently booked to ensure that nothing will be available. Oh well! Add to the fun that I was told that I have to have an "Activated" pass at check-in [so, I need to stop at DTD or a park's guest services before we can even dump the luggage...]:headache: :headache: :headache:

I think I need a vacation from my vacation planning!

You may be able to check in with just the voucher or so I've heard here. We have always had the actual AP and we did what you are basically. We went to EPCOT and purchased the AP. When we checked in they didn't even ask. The only thing I can think of is that somehow it's linked with our phone number and it came up that we had an AP when we checked in.

You cannot check on the AP passholder site until you get your voucher in. However, you can call CRO and have them check for you and book with them.

Disney's policy is that you must have an activated AP at check-in. However, they are really inconsistent. I've been asked once for an activated pass. And it could not be a voucher. Other times, they want an activated pass or a voucher (and stop by to show activation during the visit). Other times, I haven't been asked at all. I would say try checking in. If they are insistent that it must be an activated pass, have them store your luggage (they will) and then go to DtD or a park (whichever is closer/easier to get to) and activate it. I don't think it would be a huge problem, but it could be, so be prepared.

Thanks for the advice. I really shouldn't be a hassle, BUT will 2 "cranky" guys with me, one never knows....:)

Stipulating it will not make you feel better right now (although that's my intention :) )-- I am often, actually always, able to find AP rates close to the trip. Based on my trolling through this morning, there are still rooms left, all levels, for most dates Oct-Dec. And as you likely know from reading other AP threads, rooms are added as others cancel. Air travel is always harder closer in than finding an acceptable AP room. (I use SW because no change fees).

As for voucher versus pass at check in -- I have used AP for a room about 15 times. I have been asked for the pass for proof just once.

I agree with PP, you should call if you have the time and patience, and try out some dates with CRO.
