We have been bit by the DVC bug and made our first offer on a BLT listing. I can't get over how low some of the listings are going for, so we took a plundge today. Now I wonder how long we will have to wait to hear if the seller likes our offer. I feel like a giddy child as I wait to hear something.:goodvibes

Good luck... it might take a few tries to get the price you want.

Have Fun!!! Our original contract was direct through Disney and we just put an offer in on a resale to add on, so this is our first resale purchase. Our offer was accepted the first day, but it took two weeks to go to ROFR. Now we wait the 30 days to hear back from Disney. If you have the time to wait the prices are worth the wait.

:cool1: Hope it comes through for you... I've been watching resales recently too, seems like a definite way to go!! Hoping to get in the game next year.
Best wishes!! :goodvibes

Well, neither sell excepted our offers but did make counter offers. As DH says, "It is not like we NEED to buy but they might NEED sell." So we will wait until someone come closer to accepting the price we would like to pay.

I could not believe how quickly we found out from the sellers, one was within 2 hours and the other was within 10 minutes.

Good luck to all who are looking into or making offers!!:santa::goodvibes

There are some really great offers out therem but they come and go fast. You need to be watching every day. I am probably going to add on resale by summer, but if something just perfect lands on my lap, I am taking it.

Besides watching, I found calling the brokers really helps. Some of the best listings never even make it to their sites; I know for a fact Sharon at Fidelity has a list of buyers she deems serious, based on having talked with them, and she calls them first, before the listing is posted.

So set yourself apart from the rest. Show you're serious by calling the brokers and getting your name and desired resort, UY, # of points, etc. in their heads and on whatever list they might keep of people they know were serious enough to actually call them.

Thanks for the tip on calling Sharon, I did sign up for their newsletter but I have yet to receive anything. That was not the case with the Timeshare store and the other broker who cannot be listed on the boards. Robert from the Timeshare store has been in contact with me. So I hope he would do the same as Sharon for us, if he finds a contract we might me interested in.

Now that we made offers that the sellers are not intersted, we are wondering how important it is to buy intol BLT as our home resort. Does anyone know what the availability for BLT at the 7 month window looks like for a 1 bedroom villa in January?

I also had a good vibe from the broker who can't be named. Had nice conversations with him, and he said he also maintained a list of buyers he calls first, although as a smaller company we never made a match.

Sharon has called me several times with great deals. So great, in fact, that I've been ROFR'd twice!

I need to make a point to make contact with Sharon today, her company is the only one I have not made contact with other asking to be put on their newsletter but I haven't received any listings yet.

Well we found a seller on the third attempt you made a counter offer we were comfortable with, now we wait to hear from Disney. Hopefully in 2012 we will be BLT owners.
