Bistro de Paris, Jiko, California Grill, Flying Fish, Beirgarten...lots of pics!

Hi Bill!! Great reviews. Thanks for sharing!

:thumbsup2 Wow! You write excellent reviews! You made me want to try Bistro on my upcoming trip!:woohoo: Thanks for all the photos too!:cheer2:

Bill Sears, you are my HERO, and if our paths ever cross at WDW, I'm buying you dinner. Yours is a charmed life.

I'm so freakin' hungry right now, I think I'll hit up Whataburger. :woohoo:

Thanks for the great reviews and pictures!!! I really enjoyed your review!

Loved your detailed, upbeat yet straight-shootin' reviews!
Now if you would just eat at the other 75 TS locations and write reviews for them, I wouldn't have to read any more reviews! :rotfl2:

Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your reviews. :thumbsup2 We are trying Biergarten on our upcoming trip and it sounds like something my kids will really enjoy. Thanks again!

Loved you reviews - thanks so much for posting. We are also 2 meals a day people so we are very much hoping that the DDP will suit us down to the ground.

What wonderful reviews!!! I really admire you for trying new places. We have so many favorites, we tend to get stuck in a rut. Or maybe that's just me as I make the reservations.:rotfl:

Anyway, my first question is about dress at LeBistro? We haven't dined there in a number of years but I've read differing accounts about dress code there these days. Were you told of a dress code and what did you observe?

Thanks again guys. I'm glad you've enjoyed the reviews.

I'm your hero? I just wish I could go to WDW as often as you have. :thumbsup2 Thanks for the dinner offer but instead just buy me a drink...or even better dessert. :)

I'll get right on the other 75! I now have a new goal to eat at every restaurant. It may take a decade or so to get to all of them but I'm game to try it.

Disney's website doesn't mention a dress code but I think I was told business casual when I made my reservation. Looking around me I did see that people were dressed in clothes that were more upscale then the standard park attire. I did see mostly dress slacks and polo shirts for guys and similar attire for the ladies. I wore jeans, a polo shirt and leather shoes. This is how I dressed that day at EPCOT:

Dinner that night was at Bistro de Paris. I’ve passed by the entrance to this restaurant many times and I might have glanced at the menu and ran away once I looked at the prices. Let me tell you it’s worth every penny! I spent $70.00 on the chefs tasting menu, added another $35.00 for the wine pairings and added the $5.00 cheese course but I do have the DDE (Disney Dining Experience) card so I got to take 20% off from that. This meal was easily the best meal I’ve ever had at WDW. I can’t wait to come back.

My reservation was for 5:30 and I showed up at about 5:15 to make sure I was on time. But the restaurant didn’t open until 5:30 and I took a walk around France for a bit. At 5:30 they let me ride upstairs on the tallest old style left I’ve ever been on. Take a look at the view…

Now normally I’d expect at least a real elevator from Disney. But I guess this is better then nothing and at least it worked.

I bet the elevator might be for effect. Since a lot of their buildings were built before the age of elevators, Europe still has a lot of elevators like that even in nice hotels and apartment buildings. In Paris at least most of them are modernized (unlike the elevators in Prague which I found scarier than any ride on the Tower of Terror :scared1: ) but still in the old style. I am sure if Disney wanted to they could have put a regular elevator in there. This just seems to be another touch of Disney theming to enhance the atmosphere.

Yep that's one of the reasons why even though I'd like to visit Europe I'll probably never go there. It's not their fault but they just have too many old buildings. But at least I get to talk to lots of Europeans at the World Showcase.

I did post the picture of the lift over in the disABILITIES section and Shovan mentioned that Bistro used to be inaccessible to wheelchair using guests. So I'm guessing it was added and this was the best they could do considering the space they had.

Bill, Glad you had a good trip!! (Your food reviews were great too!)

At least the Bistro is accessible these days. We had sort of forgotten about it, because years ago when we were interested in dining there, it was not accessible at all.

My guess is they have always had that service elevator there & were able to use it to meet ADA guidelines.

Thanks for the Bistro pics... these are some of the only ones I found. Great food TR!

Definitely will have to try the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain, never been there.

:scared1: Never?!! Really? This is the one place I've gone every single time that I've been in Orlando. Even when I went to visit a friend for the weekend, we had to stop at DTD before my flight left on Sunday so I could get some ice cream.

Great reviews Bill! Like you, we are planning on eating at places we've never been. But, since we usually eat offsite and we haven't been nearly as many times as you, we have a lot more choices.
