Bison Burger at Geyser Point vs Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Resort

Has anyone tried the Bison Burger at Whispering Canyon that can comment on how if compares to Geyser Point? My DH has his mind set on a Bison Cheeseburger at Geyser Point on our next trip but the rest of the family would rather dine at Whispering Canyon Café? I just checked Whispering Canyon menu and saw a "chopped Bison Burger" but the topping are not the same. Are they about equal? as a side question-do they still serve the huge ice cream in a cowboy hat similar to the Kitchen Sink at Beaches?

I've had both, but to be honest, my brain is not remembering any similarities or differences. I remember liking both of them. I love Bison, so if it was awful, I'd remember. I can't imagine that there are lots of "styles" of Bison out there. They're probably the same base burger with different toppings. Have a great trip.

Thanks! We will just be stopping over for lunch and DH missed out on his Bison Burger last trip, so he will not be happy with us if his burger is terrible at Whispering Canyon!! I did notice that the menu at Whispering Canyon uses the term "chopped" and Geyser Point does not so I just wanted an opinion from a fellow DISer before making an ADR.

We lived geyser point when we stayed at WL last year. I don’t remember who ordered what, but we went back multiple times that trip. Delicious!

GP is having serious issues with regard to identity, and purpose....

If booking a vacation? Staying at WL? Do not plan on GP for much. PLEASE get a ressie for WC? GP is in SERIOUS trouble... I personally suspect a total shutdown, and re-do .

I can't comment on the bison burgers, but I do know they no longer serve the big hat sundae, unfortunately.

I would venture to say it's the exact same Burger, most likely from Durham Ranch in Wyoming. I think I remember seeing Durham Ranch somewhere on a Disney menu but can't recall where. Now what the two restaurants do with the burger I can't speak to.

I'm staying at WL in 7 weeks and got worried about what I read above. I gave a quick look at a few different websites and the reviews still look pretty good.

Oh i hope so! The fried chicken sandwich was delicious and the ambiance/etc so relaxing.

In order to protect your Family? Please, pretend this place does not exist. "Does Not Exist" is getting close. PLEASE book real ADRs at WDW Restaurants that accept ADRs. All your choice, but I would highly advise ADR's. If you can GET an ADR at Geyser Point? Please let us know.

Options at WL: Whispering Canyon. That's it.... ADRs for Artist Point expire on Oct 28, 2018, with no re opening date.
Other options? ONE - Roaring Fork. No ADR's...

I actually prefer places with no ADRs.

NOTHING is wrong with Geyser Point. Food is good, ambience is great.
@Dean Marino is just negative about anything he personally doesn’t like.

You still haven’t explained what the issue is with GP.

There have been a couple of recent posts regarding the issues surrounding GP. The consensus criticism is that many of the menu favorites have vanished, it is quite disorganized, and it functions sort of as a pool bar, qs, and lounge, without really doing any of those particulalry well. It's also run poorly. We stayed WL in March, and were surprised at the lack of help. Fortunately for us, the bartender (Bruce) was a total superstar and did everything he could take care of us. He should probably be running the location, tbh. That said, what GP is, is a fantastic location with an identity crisis and terrible execution. Disney could do so much with that beautiful view. Shame.
