Biscuit's Grand Adventure | An epic tale three decades in the making!

I've done dinner and breakfast at CP and breakfast is better. We usually do it like a brunch and book the latest seating available. I know not every family are early risers. We aren't at home but at Disney I make them get up and then we rest in the afternoon. It took some convincing (and a very funny disney contract I had them sign) but now they are used to the empty parks in the AM and are willing to do it. So your family may change to early risers as they get older. Stranger things have happened.

I'm at the point where my kids are becoming "adults" according to Disney. So I have to pay the adult price. However, if I am not on the dinning plan than they can still order off the child menu. So for us it's no longer worth it to do the dinning plan. Unless it's free dinning of course.

If they hold true to form, Hailee and I will be early morning park buddies and Tracy and Tahli will hang back and sleep in. (Last Saturday was "Donuts with Dad" morning and Tahli said "I need to rest, just bring me one back." Hailee was raring to go.) We'll see how it all turns out.

I imagine once we get to that point, we'll no longer do DDP. When I run the full price numbers, it does not seem like it will still be as good a value.

So sad to see your last day. You picked a great park to end your visit with. We did CP for dinner in 2007 and DH was not impressed. I would love to try it for breakfast and after his last visit I don't think it will happen. He has the same opinion as you, there are other places he would like to try first.

The girls are so cute in your pictures. Of course they always look cute.

Seemed appropriate to start and end at MK. If I do manage to book a breakfast next time, CP tops the list.

I will know that feeling soon enough....:sad2:

But then there's all that stuff in between.

Really. I love the stuff. Esp when it's still a little crunchy.

Me too!

"I just don't know why they're shooting at us. All we want to do is bring them democracy and white bread. Transplant the American dream. Freedom. Achievement. Hyperacidity. Affluence. Flatulence. Technology. Tension. The inalienable right to an early coronary sitting at your desk while plotting to stab your boss in the back." - Hawkeye

Nice. Here's one of my faves:

"Your picture's in my wallet and I'm sitting on it. If that isn't love, I don't know what is." - Frank Burns

Great report. I mostly lurked as I didnt have alot of time to comment. I love all your pictures.

I love M*A*S*H* I have great memories watching it with my grampy. I don't catch it as much as I like due to my work schedule.

So there you have it. For us, we felt it was worth the price when we signed up for DDP and now, having been there and done that, my opinion has not changed. And there is the value you can't measure. Our table service meals, though sometimes a pain to get to, were one of the highlights of our trip. Tracy, who believes highly that vacations should be relaxing, really enjoyed the downtime of being able to sit together as a family, away from the heat and crowds and spend some time together. And you know what? I have to agree. This was the first trip I had without blisters and throbbing hooves. Plus it was awesome no having to worry about keeping track of a dining budget while on our trip. Say what you will, but as for me and my Biscuits, we love us some dining plan.

Coming up on the Special Two Part Finale of Biscuit’s Grand Adventure: So long, Farewell, and Amen.

I couldn't agree more! I love your comparison and you are right, were you not on the plan you wouldn't get some of the things that come with the plan but I know for us, and our kids, those "extra's" that we wouldn't normally get (dessert, snacks) were a huge part of making everyone feel very spoiled, very on vacation and not adding as we went when a child asked for a snack...priceless!

I will admit though, after your review, CP really isn't very high on my list. It never has been and it did make the top 10 in my ADR family ranking test but didn't make the final cut. Your review pretty much summed up my impressions of it.

I loved, loved, loved your report! It was amazing to read. I sat at my desk, and rather than do homework (I'm a college student with eventually 2 majors and 2 minors) read this report all evening.

Thanks for the laughs, the tears at certain points and the memories! My cousin worked as a CM during 1997 and told me stories about the pink castle, and it was great to finally see it!

You will tell us how the trip home went, right?? This isn't THE final episode, right?? And you will still hang out with us, right??

So, how is it you can put the words "glory" and "caffeine" in the same reference as that of what they serve at Disney (in most places) and call coffee?? EWWW!! The only "sadder" creature is one who's just had "coffee", such as it is at POP, AND preparing to shut the door for the last time.

I hope you sat next to someone on the way home who had just as many helpings of cabbage and bad coffee as you. ;)

Please tell me you guys got these quotes from IMDB and didn't really have 30-year-old dialogue memorized! :sad2:

Well, okay, I say that, but it actually is a little disturbing how often I quote movies and TV shows in otherwise normal conversations...

There is no sadder creature than a DIS’er pushing a luggage cart through a resort on checkout day.

No there is not, especially when you are watching all the happy people checking in because their vacations are jsut starting:sad2:

My over all impressions of the place? It was okay. It wasn't my favorite of the meal, but I didn't loath it either.

Agreed and if your kids like Pooh, it's a great place to mee the 100 Acre Wood Gang ::yes::

BONUS FEATURE – Disney Dining Review.

Thanks for the review. I came to the same conclusion as you last year and as long as they keep offering we will probably get it the next time we go.

Coming up on the Special Two Part Finale of Biscuit’s Grand Adventure: So long, Farewell, and Amen.

Auf Wierdersehen, Adieu?popcorn::

I know you've been writing this forever, but I still don't want it to end!
I feel the same. Sigh.

I have to agree with a PP who said Crystal Palace's breakfast outdoes their lunch and dinner. Their breakfast lasagna is to DIE for.

I look forward to heairng about the woes of your fellow airline passengers' olfactories. :thumbsup2

I adore Hawkeye. (Yes, I had to google for the exact quote, but I knew some of the phrases in it.)

I will not carry a gun.... I'll carry your books, I'll carry a torch, I'll carry a tune, I'll carry on, carry over, carry forward, Cary Grant, cash and carry, carry me back to Old Virginia, I'll even hari-kari if you show me how, but I will not carry a gun! ~Hawkeye,

On my last day, I always avert my eyes from happy newcomers. Just too depressing of a sight.
