Biscuit's Grand Adventure | An epic tale three decades in the making!

That Ariel disturbs me slightly. She's orange.
The illusion was definitely off.

Sorry to hear about the rough morning! But, at least you have some lovely pictures (minus the orange girl) of the Princesses with your girls! :thumbsup2 And, good learning experience-now you know how to tour for the next trip.

I hope the nap did you all well and you are able to make it to EMH!
Live, learn, apply and move on.

Ok, I'm going to be honest here... I usually love TRs that have LOTS of pictures, and not too much story-telling... but HOLY COW! I can't get enough of this!! Your sense of humor, vocabulary, outlook on things... combined with the most professional-looking pictures ever! Awesome!

Thanks!!!
Thanks Sooze! I really appreciate it! If you like photos, I would recommend TR’s by Lurkyloo and Topdog. They have some AWESOME pics.

It was a bit humorous. To me anyway.

I thought I had already commented on your update and realized I hadn't! I wish you had a better experience at Akershus, but as you said, if it's one day out of the whole time you're there it's not too bad :) I'm still trying to decide what kind of character meal to do for Piper while we're there, and from what I've seen of the breakfast reviews, lunch or dinner might be the way to go, lol. As always, your pictures were awesome! Looking forward to the next update...
Like I say, there are many who love the breakfast there. It just wasn’t our thing.

I LOVE this picture!
Thanks!

Love the dream sequence!!! :lmao:

This is an amazing pic!!!
Thanks & Thanks!

Hey GB,

I've been reading but evidently not posting :confused3

I KNEW you guys would love WCC! My son is TERRIFIED of attention, so we've steered clear since the kids hit pre-teen-hood (which is now full-teen-hood). But I do recall liking the food! (Not that I'm much of a BBQ expert...)
We have WCC on our must do for next time!

I must say, I am very impressed with your willingness to go with the flow, as far as the girls and their tolerance levels are concerned. Whether it's leaving MK before Wishes for a dip in the pool or heading back to the resort after a less than satisfying breakfast for a nap, you certainly used your head and avoided those all too common meltdown disasters! There's an important lesson there that I wish more people would learn.
It certainly made the trip much more enjoyable. IMHO

My sister and her family tried the Akershus breakfast and were similarly disappointed. Funny, she also said that Snow White was the best "in character" princess. And I agree with everyone else. That Ariel is scarily orange and rather bizarre looking.;)
The Snow White we had was incredible. She was SPOT ON.

Yeah, I think that Ariel would have made a better Drizella!

Awesome update, GB!

I knew you guys had been doing some late nights, but I guess I didn't notice that you were sleeping in as well. So that's how you do it. Normally, thats me at home, but on vacation I am up early and I burn out early. I so wish we could make the evening EMH's because nighttime in the parks is my favorite, but it never seems to happen.:confused3
The late night EMH was great for us because it was 3 hours long and we were going to be up anyway. Evening EMH to me, is the money shot that will ensure we always stay on property. Not that the other benefits are bad, but to me, it totally made the trip.

Askershus is one of our favorites, mostly because my boys love anything containing the words "all you can eat". and I get my fill of the princesses without making them stand in lines.

for some reason a 16 yr old boy isn't that excited about meeting the princesses....unless it's Ariel or Jasmine.:rotfl2:
LOL! We did notice a couple of teens there during out trip. It’s always funny to watch how they try to pull off that bored, yet “GQ” look at the same time. (Which never works BTW.)

Great update, Biscuit! Took me a few days to get to it...silly work, getting in the way of my TR-reading and writing!

I love this pic!
Hey norybell! Thanks! I know how it goes in TR tracking. I get so far behind sometimes, it’s insane.

We love our breakfasts at Disney. Course as a clan my extended family have brunches when we get together too (yes, for thanksgiving, christmas or easter too. Then we all leave and see the other side of our families for dinner.) So perhaps the breakfast thing has been fostered in my kids.

But the great thing about Disney is that you have tons of options. Sometimes you find something that works and sometimes you find it just doesn't. Now you're free to explore other options. For us, Akersus breakfast is must. Each to their own.
Which is why I love the place. No two experiences are the same. Every moment can be customized to fit your tastes and mood at the time.

Poor Ariel is getting the bum deal. I think SHE doesn't make a good Ariel. I think she's probably very pretty when she's out of her get up. However, in Ariel mode, she just looks off.
You do raise a valid point. I’m sure she’s a lovely girl. She just has a bit of a, well…misguided sense of character recreation. Maybe she was having an off day. Or maybe she’s an understudy. Or maybe nobody showed up and they were desperate for a character and grabbed some poor CM backstage and stuck her in a dress and wig and said go wave at people and pose for thirty one thousand photos. It could happen.

Oh and by the way, it was nice to see you in some pix!
Thanks! Nice to be seen!

Happy Thanksgiving to you, GB and to all your readers!!! (Well, except those from Canada and other countries. To you, I say, Happy Thursday ;) )

Happy Thanksgiving to all my readers and your families! May your turkeys never be dry and my beloved Cowboys not choke in their game against Oakland! Amen.

Although mine is just over, and I must add we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 kinds of pie (yes, I did try all 3), and yours is just beginning, I do hope you enjoy all that family and being thankful brings!

Happy Thanksgiving, GB Clan!

Liesa

What a fun update! It's interesting that Snow White was the most in character because I was looking at the picture of her in you report and thinking, "wow, she looks so much like the real deal. Maybe she really was!!!
It had me :lmao: that you used that G.I Joe quote in one of your responses, '...and learning is half the battle'. My husband uses that quote all the time (as often as he can, really).
I'm sorry your family and the CMs gave you such a hard time for your regal narration. Perhaps if it weren't so early they would have been more impressed.

No worries...it was simply some embellished story telling to attempt to insert humor into an otherwise bleak outing.

Of which, you are quite the master at! :worship:

No episode today, but I do have some aimless thoughts rambling about my head in case anyone is interested. If you prefer a more normal discourse, I have added some more TR’s to the intermission post.

Today is weird. And on weird days I get into weird moods. Part of the oddity comes from my asthma which after a fairly lengthy absence has returned with a vengeance. I’m currently loaded up on Albuterol and a Starbucks latte. (That hot caffeine helps and I’m doing all I can to avoid the ER.) Add to that my sinus meds and I’m jitterier than a cat in a car wash. (Is jitterier a word?) And my mind is going a bit too fast to keep up with.

So the first topic on my brain today is show tunes. My current love for video production actually began in live production. Way back in the 8th grade, I filled in as a spotlight operator for a church musical. From that point forward I have always loved live theater and especially musicals.

There are so many greats out there. The transformer-esque set of Les Miserables would be awesome even without the music and story. Phantom of the Opera always brings a smile to my face. Fiddler on the Roof brings to mind the gremlin riddled production from college that included a shattered light and near fire. Classics like The Music Man and Hello Dolly bring back the productions for which I built sets and ran the light board. There’s just something about being involved in a production that I absolutely LOVE. But of all the various musicals out there, there is one which ranks high among my favorite that I have never had the pleasure of seeing live: Into The Woods.

I was first introduced to this production in the early 1990’s when I saw a TV broadcast of the original Broadway cast. I have several of the songs loaded up on iTunes and have seen the recorded play one other time since. There’s just something intriguing about this show that appeals to my quirky side. I mean come on, Rapunzel having a breakdown, Prince Charming having an affair, Cinderella’s step sisters mutilating their toes, most of the cast ending up dead…what’s not to love? Plus the music is awesome. It’s the soundtrack of the day today and fits my mood. (Oh and another favorite quirky musical that I’ve never seen live? Starlight Express.)

Moving right along, any slapstick comedy fans out there? I love me some Three Stooges. One of the old go to gags was the slipping on the banana peel routine. How many times have we seen this gag repeated? Dozens, hundreds maybe? And how many times have we thought “yeah right.” I can now tell you, that stuff right there is true my friend!

I was making some banana splits the other night and did not realize a peel had fallen to the floor. In my classic style of self injury, I took a step back on went zooming across the kitchen like some sort of freakish ice skating sumo wrestler. Hmmm…now there’s an Olympic sport I’d like to see. Anyway…after sliding half way across the room, I somehow managed to roll right and crash into the counter, thus keeping myself upright.

What does any of this have to do with anything? Not much. But sometimes you just have to clear out your thoughts to make room for more important things. It’s like a defragmenting your hard drive. Only in this case it’s your brain.

On a more serious note, my cousin’s wife had to have an emergency C-section last night. She was not full term and the baby is stable, but has a fight ahead of him. So I guess part of my rambling here is my go to stress therapy of looking for those silver linings that always accompany the darkest of storms. I have the unfortunate propensity to laugh in inappropriate situations. People who don’t know me that well might sometimes think I’m not taking a situation seriously. It’s just part of my makeup. (Makeup as in elements comprising a whole, not Maybelline …don’t want to start any wild rumors flying out there.)

Thanksgiving was fun. We drove to Dallas and did the whole extended family, once a year, mass get together thing. Aunt Jana says hey. Okay, she really didn’t, but if she knew there was a following, I’m sure she would have. Following the out of town festivities, I made a turkey dinner for the ladies and we enjoyed our own holiday feast at home on Friday. (Thank you Alton Brown for the awesome turkey brine recipe. Have I mentioned before that I LOOOOOOOVE to watch Good Eats?)

Well, I think that’s about it. For now anyway. I hope to be able to post soon. Farewell my friends!

Hi GB !!! I am a victim of coldmeds and stress today so am struggling to stay awake as I am babysitting for a while !!Hope you stay out of the ER !!!!! My GD suffers with asthma so I see first hand what it is like !!

Hi back atcha! One of the most peculiar side affects of asthma is being tired and giddy all at the same time. Albuterol makes you feel all pumped up, but once you stand you are instantly exhausted.

1~ I LOVE musicals!! I've been involved in local theater most of my life and those are my favorites to do. My personal favorite is Meet me in St.Louis And since my alter ego is an opera diva I can frequently be seen running around town in the mom-mobile belting out Phantom of the Opera. Embarasses my kids EVERY time. Especialy when they have friends along for the ride.

2~ Loved the banana.......how sad is it that everytime I need to spell banana (just did it again) I have the old cheer from high school cheerleading go through my head...go banana's b a n a n a s.........where was I?

Oh yeah, I'd pay good money to see sumo ice skating!:rotfl2:
At least you can blame your near fall on something....

3~ I hope your cousin and baby are doing well. How early is the baby? I had my first 8 weeks early and he spent 2 weeks in the NICU...scariest time of my life. I'll add them to my prayers.

Awesome! Jordan needs a flat Wikers soundtrack! Meet me in St. Louis was another good one. I always picture Judy Garland when I hear "Clang, Clang, Clang went the Trolley"

Oh yeah, I'd pay good money to see sumo ice skating!:rotfl2:
That's what I'm talking about. Maybe take it on tour. Iron Chef on Ice or something.

Thanks so much. He was just over 5 weeks early. Primary concern is a large amount of fluid in the abdomen. No word yet on the cause or prognosis.
