Biscuit's Grand Adventure | An epic tale three decades in the making!

As some of you may recall from the banter I had with SunnieRN, or house is approx 2 miles from the Fort Hood Main Gate. At this time, we do not know if anyone we knew was involved in the shootings. There are currently several dozen soldiers and their families who attend our church and I am working with our pastor to attempt to account for each of them.

As you may also recall, I work in the Public Safety division of a cellular provider and our department coordinates the Emergency Response Team deployments. I never thought I'd be working on a deployment to my own backyard.

I just talked to Tracy and she is still at school. Because of the lockdown, many parents still have not been able to get to her school. (She teaches off post but approx 2/3 of her class are military children.)
I will likely be unable to return to check the boards until the weekend or sometime next week. Until I am able to get back, I covet your prayers for the victims, their families and the community.

Just lifting u and the community up in prayer.....

I had a respone done and lost it...stupid phone browser. We are all home and trying to get the girls settled. I do appreciate all your prayers and well wishes. We still don't know the identies of all involved. In the interest of preventing my TR from relocating itself on the Community Board I removed the apparently illegal off topic title and links. On the TR front, I hope to update on Monday. I found some of the Fantasmic photos (Not the high speed roll I'm afraid) so maybe I can get those posted tomorrow. Good night all. God Bless.

Well then, until Monday :)

Meantime, be what God has called you to be in this time.

Found a roll of film? cool! Do wish it was the coveted high speed roll, though!

I have a confession to make: I have a problem. A mental problem that is. When my mind is spinning, I cant sleep. It is getting late, and all is quiet and dark and I should be snoring by now. Yet, I feel like I could head out to a midnight - three EMH and party till they kicked me outta the joint. And so I have found my way here. Far sooner than I anticipated, unsure what Im going to ramble about given the warning from the moderator. (I know OMari, it stinks to be the mod. Im not bitter. I know you were doing your job. For which you volunteer. And no doubt take a lot of grief over. ) So I guess something TR related would be in order, so as to get the bus outta the median so to speak. (Yeah I know outta isnt a real word. But it is in Texas dangit.)

Previously mentioned on these pages was the fact that I had a roll of high speed film that up and vanished on me. I still dont know what happened to it, but I did discover five shots of Fantasmic at the beginning of a roll of film from day 5. (WOOT!) They arent as grand as I would hope, but given that I shot it at between 150 and 300mm, at 1/60, f5.6, iso 400 , they aint bad.

Also discovered were a couple of pics from my last post that didnt make it into the report the first time around. So I suppose this will be a post about the discovery of lost photos. Hopefully it will be more entertaining than Geraldo Rivera opening the lost safe of Al Capone.

NOTE _ THE PHOTOS ORIGINALY POSTED HERE WERE RE-INCORPORATED INTO THE ORIGNAL EPISODES FROM WHICH THEY WERE MISSING WHEN I RE-DID ALL THE PHOTO LINKS IN THE FALL 2023 TIDY UP. I'M REMOVING THIS ONE FROM THE CHAPTER LIST. THAT IS ALL!

Well that's about it for now. I'm going to bed again. It's actually been 2 hours since I started this episode. (Two reboots, and a hail of "Great biscuit's a burning in the river!" were thrown in the general direction of Photobucket. I think I can sleep now. Night all!

You and the families have them in spades my friend!
My heart goes out to each and every person involved. May God give each and every one of them peace and strength to get through this, and those who don't know Him, may they hunger to as they experience His love.

So is the word rightclose......I reckon he lives rightclose to me. :rotfl: ;)
Looooved the pics, so glad you found them.

Don't blame you for having trouble sleeping with the kind of day you had. If it helps some, you put some happiness back into the world by posting those "lost" shots. Brought me right back to a warm and fuzzy memory of watching fantasmic with my kids and having them point out each and every character on the boat-and as we all know there is a lot of them.

"Look mommy it's Ariel"

"Look mommy it's Eric"

"Look mommy it's Jasmine"

"Look mommy it's Aladdain"

You get the picture. So thanks for spreading some joy on an otherwise not-so-great day.

I think I have a new name for you GB: Mr. Class Act.

You and yours have been in my prayers since yesterday.

Hey! Long time no see! How’s life treating you! Did I remember correctly that you guys are down in Central Texas now?

Thanks!

Yes and no. I was SME when I left my last department and 2 weeks later they canned the entire team and the helpdesk that was 1 tier up.

Awesome! Air Conditioning is your friend, mister fans are a must, drink deeply and drink often, and use lots of sunscreen. There you go. The GB field manual to summer Disney Survival.

I am currently home with some kind of ear infection on steriods. I thought only kids got ear infections? Looks like I might be headed to the hospital if the doctors can't figure out this latest development.

Your memory is correct. We live in Waco now.

Lots of water will be the plan for sure! Sunscreen is a given regardless if it's winter or summer in Florida! :lmao:

My prayers are with you and the families in your church. When DH showed me the news story yesterday, I imediately thought of your family. God Bless and I'll be praying.

Great Biscuit,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your community during this difficult time.

To all those soldiers and their families, my words and tears will never convey my gratitude for what you do. You deserve more than that and rarely get it. Those currently serving and those who have served...may God bless you all.

Rambling is good for the soul, no matter what the topic and a fine place to find yourself when the brain won't sit still. :grouphug:

Love the pics, especially the Fantasmic shots as they are quite different from the ones I usually see. I really need to figure out a nighttime/low light photo solution for my trip without breaking the bank or having too much equipment to lug around. My point and shoot does an amazing job outside, on a nice day, but....

Love your Fantasmic Pictures! You always take the best pictures.

Thoughts and prayers with your family and community.

Hey GB, just caught up. missed a lot. had a virus. the computer kind. frustrating. it is. wow i'm turning into Yoda.

Hi there Mr. GreatBiscuit! I followed your signature link from Jordan's PTR to your AMAZING TR.. Holy cow!! I got through several episodes from your earlier trips, but I need to go do homework with DS.
Howdy and :welcome: Glad to have you aboard!

Your entire community and the post are in my prayers.:grouphug:

I hope everything is okay. Stay safe!!

Praying for the soldiers and your entire community!

Sending prayers for your family, friends, and church. I didn't realize that you lived so close.

You're all in my prayers. I couldn't believe it when the news first broke.

Our serviemen sacrifice so much for us, it's inconcievable how someone could attack them "at home".

You and the families have them in spades my friend!
My heart goes out to each and every person involved. May God give each and every one of them peace and strength to get through this, and those who don't know Him, may they hunger to as they experience His love.

Thanks so much everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I appreciate all of you taking the time to post support. I will send out an update in a bit.

I appreciate the OP's request to let us know the circumstances, but please don't let the thread turn into a total discussion of the shootings and let the thread be on hold till he returns.(so far so good). There are many threads on the Community Board in which you may to participate. Keep him and everyone else in your prayers during this difficult time.
(Sometimes it's not fun being a moderator).
I'll send future updates via private message.

Yeah, I should have known you’d beat me to the punch on that one!

Sho-nuff.

Our girls were doing the same thing! Only theirs was “Take a picture of Airel Daddy! Take a picture of Belle! Hurry Daddy, take a picture of Minnie!”

Tracy at the doctor’s office with an ear infection as we speak. She did the whole Z pack last week and it didn’t work. The worst pain I ever remember having (and given my many injuries that’s saying something) was right after we got married when I got an ear infection. My ear canal was so swollen, they couldn’t even see my ear drum. I couldn’t hear ANYTHING out of that ear for about 3 weeks.

I totally agree. My method of dealing with stress probably isn’t the healthiest approach. I tend to bury stuff and find ways to stay busy.

Hey Burly! Saddend to hear about the computer bug I am! Your returning, make me happy it does.

Oh and dallastxcpa, :welcome:

I agree with Cynthia, those shots were 'out of the ordinary'. Great Job!

I also agree that getting on here to "ramble" is just the ticket for getting thoughts out and unravelled. I sometimes even keep a piece of paper by the bed to make sure I don't forget what I"ve come up with during my night time musings. (Can I add, that it's not always about Disney ;))

Just PMd you...

After 3 days of Great Bisquit carb overloading and 25 pages I am finally caught back up!

Just goes to show its a mistake to get engrossed in others TR's while in the middle of taking your own!

Loved all the updates GB, cant wait to see how everything wrapped up!

Subbing. Love the TR so far! (well, as far as I have gotten in it, that is!)

P.S. I'm in Cen. TX, too. Praying for all of you guys up there near and in Ft. Hood.
