Please explain about the fork thing. I haven't read anything about it and didn't see this while we were there.
If you drop a fork on the floor, they bring you out that giant wooden one and make quite a show about hoping its big enough to hold onto. (They do eventually bring you a real fork.)
Don't feel too bad Dennis has the same reputation with potty problems. I'm more like Tracy, quick in and out where as Dennis will disappear for a while and the females in the family don't let him live it down.

Gotta love the universal constant.
What an awesome day! And I (unlike my dial-up connection) love your pictures! Can't wait to read more
Thanks and

I try to shrink down the photos to try to be more bandwidth friendly, but with 40 of them in this episode, I imagine it still took a while.
Did you know there used to be a bar above Playhouse Disney? Playhouse used to be a food court of sorts and there was a bar. i think you could even access from the Brown Derby. It was called the Catwalk....and yes, we had drinks up there. I think it was inn 1991.
I did not, but it explains a LOT. I was wondering why they built such an elaborate catwalk for this show. You normally dont see on that big in this type of venue. Now I know. (And knowing is half the battle you know.)
WCC...BBQ.....check. I'll have to come down to TX and you can take me on the mother of all BBQ joint tours.
TOTALLY! And from the looks of the posts below, the list is still expanding.
Dude! I'm a database administrator. I am so right there with ya!
Let me tell you, I have a new appreciation for your craft! Im definitely a novice so Ive spent the last two weeks googling to try to figure out some the queries I needed.
I don't know if you're aware, but Smokey Bones in Waco is long gone. I ate there once, but wasn't impressed. I don't even remember what I ordered, but I'll assume it wasn't the ribs.
Its been about 6 years or so since I ate there so I guess I can officially take it off the list.
The problem with BBQ is that it seems that people love what they grew up on and everything else is... okay. Well, I grew up in Mexia, TX and my favorite BBQ, as uncouth as it sounds, is just a plain old chipped beef sandwich from Wright's. It has even become something of a tradition in my family that we make a special trip to Mexia just to bring back beef to make sandwiches for our Christmas dinner. We love it!

Even DH, who did NOT grow up on Wright's, really loves it.
If I ever find myself heading through Mexia (which oddly enough I have on several occasions) Ill stop and check it out.
I know. My nieces have done the same thing at gift shops. DD hasn't yet, but only for a lack of opportunity, I'm sure. My mom and dad even brought rocks back from their vacation for each of the girls - which they all completetly LOVED. Go figure!
Kids
what can you do?
I know my kids would LOVE the food at WCC. I like me some BBQ here too but it is not a NW thing. Thankfully I lived in Chicago for 10 years and while it isn't the south, I'm far more up on my brisket and ribs than most of my peers.
Awesome. Keep representing up there! One day, well change the world!
Well well well....Great Lady Biscuit! Wow.
I was shocked
but happy.
Your bathroom soliloquies kill me!
And I mean that in the nicest most possible way.
I'm dying for some bbq ribs now!
Whispering Canyon is one of the places I want to try.
Id definitely recommend you try it at least once. Even if the food had not been that good, the experience was still fun.
Is there a man who can just enter the bathroom and "stop, drop, and roll"?
That's like expecting a woman who is trying on pants to not ask "do these make my butt look big?".
This is the point Im trying to make.
Yeaaaah Buddy!!!
Major Props for Texas B.B.Q!!
I'll add a couple for you GB. J&J's in Cedar Park Texas, they have the pulled pork you mentioned missing here, I like em better than Rudy's, no joke. My favorite at J&J's is actually the jalapeno sausage links and their turkey, mmmm. Their sauce...well, I could drink it by it's self, it's on the tangy side, not sweet (which I like too) but soooo good. If you, Tracey and girls come out this way you better give me a shout so John, the kids and I can treat you all to some B.B.Q!
I will be printing these out and trying the other places you've mentioned here.
Also another great place in Cedar Park (C.P. is just a little bit further down 35 from Georgetown and make a right on 1431, come straight and it's in the parking lot of HEB at 183 and 1431) is Smokey Moe's, just a stone's throw away from J&J's (which is on 1431 just past 183 on the left), my fav here is there chopped beef sandwiches and chopped beef topped baked potatoe.
Thanks for the update about WCC, I've put off wanting to eat here not knowing how I would compare the B.B.Q with what we're use to in Texas, now I'll give it a second thought.
Okay, now you got me hungry. One thing if you do head to Mikeskas, the sides arent all that great. BUT, Fat Boys is like a mile and a half up the road so you can combine and conquer.
Next time y'all fly out of Houston, you need to go to Thelma's. (Currently closed due to a fire - coming back soon!) It is in a terrible neighborhood, is run down, and is considered to be (by Bobby Flay, for what it is worth) THE BEST IN AMERICA. Now I don't take his opinion on it, but I can tell you if you don't get there early, they run out! We like to refer to going to Thelma's as getting our beef drunk on. (That sentence is a grammatical nightmare I can't bother to fix!

)
THere is also a place in the Hill Country (I'll have to ask Ferris for the name/location) that is only open on Saturday's, starting at 7am. If you're not there by 10, the ribs will be GONE. Cash, by the pound only.
I think I'll have to go to Baker's Ribs for a stuffed potato for lunch - they have a tangy sweet spicy sauce that is just yummy - Jim Goode's for Jalapeno Cheese bread, mmmmmmh.
Okay, so now I know where Im going they next time I visit my sister.
I LOVE BEING A TEXAN! Thanks for the reminder!
Word
Well, you've sold me on WCC, and all hail First Lady Biscuit! Sounds like another trip is being planned....
I hope y'all are doing well - as always, you are in my prayers!
Jaime
Well, lets just say future ideas concerning the World have been augmented. (Hows that for a vague and obscure answer?)
Was this a good or bad heart attack?
Good! Ill explain more in the wrap up.
