Does anyone know if Disney does anythin special for kid's birthdays? or have any suggestions? my youngest son will turn 3 on our last day.

I called to do breakfast with the characters & the lady I spoke to said that when we get to the park, go to guest services & they will give him a "birthday button"...then when we go to breakfast they will celebrate the event there. Other than that Im not sure as this is all she told me about. So atleast get the free birthday button for him =)

We have done Honeymoon, Anniversary, and birthdays at or close to Disney trips and they will usually do small things to add to your day.

When we made our reservations, they asked if we were celebrating and we told them what the event was, and they made a note on our reservation. I also told the CM who made our ADRs.

For our Honeymoon, we did Cinderella's Table and they added extra decorations and a special certificate. They also brought out a special dessert and took our picture. For our Anniversary, we ate at Blue Bayou at DL and they brought a special dessert and gave DD a balloon. For birthday, they gave DD a button and a special sash when we went to BBB and when we got back to hotel room, there was a special signed photo from her favorite princess! Also, you can add on some special celebrations - decorated room, special cakes/flowers/gifts - but those are additional cost.

It never hurts to let them know what you're celebrating and if your little one wears the special pin from Guest Relations, they'll be the center of the universe as everyone seems to wish them a happy birthday!

Thanks for the info! My son will turn 8 our first FULL day! Can't wait!!!

I had a birthday button on my last trip (I'm WAY over 40 years old) and I got a kick out of all the "Happy Birthday!"'s that I got throughout the parks. It really made for a special time. At one of the counter service restaurants, the cashier had everyone sing Happy Birthday to me and then gave me a free cookie. At the japanese restaurant I got a little folded origami flower that I still have sitting on my shelf. No telling what your son might get but I guarantee you that having everyone say Happy Birthday will thrill him all by itself!:yay:

we were at disney for kids first trip, and DH had a birthday while we were there. We stopped at guest svc and kids got 1st visit pins and DH got a bday one. he had a few extra deserts, but while we were shopping (somewhere downtown disney...can't recall where) A CM that worked there told my DH he had a phone call, and handed him the phone. It was goofy wishing him a happy birthday. Shocked the heck out of DH. He was like how can I get a phone call here...how would someone know what store we were at?!?

Our last trip was over hubby's bday and he wore a birthday button. It was so fun. Half the time he'd forget he was wearing it and then someone would say Happy Birthday (CM's and guests alike). So fun! At Chef Mickey's breakfast, he got a special birthday placemat and a cupcake. He loved it.

The birthday button is priceless. My DD wore it when we were down there for her 8th birthday. In AK we were walking through this crowded mass of people when we heard someone frantically calling her name. Suddenly the crowd just sort of parted and this big yellow trash can comes zooming up to my daughter wishing her a happy birthday. It was hilarious, as obviously someone in the crowd was controlling it and speaking for it. She was amazed, best Disney magic moment ever.

I can't wait to wear my birthday button when we go in June!! My sisters will get to wear a 1st Trip Button too. I'm so excited, I can't wait. I feel like a little kid. We have been lots of times but never for my birthday and even more special is that my sisters are coming too! YAY!

I've been for my honeymoon and my birthday an each time they've done something special. Definitely get a pin, a lot of CMs will try to single the celebrating boy/girl out somehow. For our honeymoon we got to get to the head of many lines, a room upgrade in both the hotel and on our cruise, we opened Festival of the Lion King and were given front row seats, sooo many free desserts, we got to ride rides over and over without having to even get off and get back in line, etc. For my birthday I got lots of free desserts again, no waiting in line a couple of times and Cosmic Ray's exploded into "Happy Birthday" for me, the CM got on the counter and was like in my face so everyone knew it was my birthday, etc. Most CMs will go out of their way somehow to make you feel special. Definitely wear pins though! and definitely mark it on your reservation! :yay:

Would you wear the pin for your entire trip or just your actual birthday? We're going in September for my 21st and I'm in two minds about wearing it all the time. I don't want people to think I'm being cheeky by wearing it on days when its not my actual birthday!

So excited to be in WDW for my birthday! Just trying to decide what to do on the actual day! :yay::yay::yay::yay:
