Birthday Time

Does Fort Wilderness do anything for a birthday? I know at real resorts they may decorate your room or something special, but is there anytihng they can do for a campsite?

I was wondering that as well. We'll be celebrating my 30th and my daughter's 6th birthdays at our next trip.

I would tell them when you check in. Last year for my son Bday they left him a card signed by Mickey and a balloon.

There is a Florist on site..you can call them and they have various gifts...beanie babies, balloons, floweres of course.. that you can order yourself. I would do that to be sure that you have something..anything else they do at a resort is usually hit or miss from what I've heard. I have called the florist myself and arranged for certain items to be placed in a room for relatives that were vacationing..they were thrilled!

There are autographed cards and balloons delivered DAILY. Just inform front desk at check in. If the event is on the day you check in it is difficult to fill the request because of time constraints. Subsequent days, no problem. Also tell CRO when you make your reservation. Be sure you tell them the name, event (birthday or aniversary), age and sex if applicable and favorite Disney character.

I would let them know..but I'm not sure I would count on it...I was at the WL for my daughters 16th birthday..it was mentioned on reservation and when we checked in...NOTHING. Which was fine because we took care of it ourselves..I'm glad I didn't assume the resort would do anything. If they did, that would have been gravy.

Ditto for the card and balloons for my son's 5th birthday in 2003. His favorite then was Pluto, and we indicated that when discussing with guest relations.

Pluto left his card and balloons tied to our camper door, so when we got back from AK that day, they were waiting for him.

We pulled one over on him for his Birthday. Turned out one of his best friends/classmates family were at Disney the same spring break week we were (but my son didn't know it), so we pre-arranged a 'surprise' birthday meet-up at Rainforest at the AK. Here's a photo:
