This was the pixie dust project that I made for our trip in Oct 2011. I know it's late in coming but I wanted to post. As always, all credit goes to the wonderful DISigners.

We had planned a short trip for Food & Wine and it worked out that our last full day was on his birthday. So we planned several surprises for him. We had already given him a Kindle before the trip and we had a family party planned after the trip, so he really wasn't expecting anything.

First, on that morning I took him down to breakfast while the rest of the family got ready. When we came back this banner by Dolly (JTandDolly) was on the door.

And also this door hanger by Milliepie.

Inside the room this banner by Dolly hung on the window.

The Mickey Heads on the ends of the banner were made by Milliepie.

And a note from Mickey.

And I modified this coupon from bababear for a Duffy the Bear costume.

But wait, there's more. After he opened his presents, we went to Epcot for a day of food demos by some of our favorite chefs. After our last demo, a Cast Member came up and handed my son a note. (One of the the best things about Disney is that you can always find a willing CM to play along.) The note was made by Dolly.

So we trekked back to the Dolphin. His brain was working overtime trying to figure out what the surprise could be. He never even got close. ;-) Now, at this point I should explain that since this trip was about F&W, we had planned 3 days in Epcot. No other parks were on the agenda. We're all foodies, including my son, so he was fine with that.

In the room was another note. This one is by Milliepie.

And tickets.

And a roomfull of costumes for the whole family.

He spent the whole night explaining to CMs that Mickey had invited him personally to the party for his birthday.

Fantastic Birthday Surprise. Disney is one of my favorite destinations for my family. We have never been for a birthday. We usually go for Christmas or New Years.

oh I love this. What a cute idea and great execution, too. :cheer2:
