No, it's not an add on:sad1:...but DH has said that I can take a trip to WDW for my birthday!:woohoo:

It is even better because he said that I can go with my BFF and he will stay home with the kids!:yay:

So, since my DVC points are used up through 2012:sad2:, I am planning a budget-friendly trip to Pop Century.

Here's our deal so far...

==> 5 nights (Thur-Tue) at Pop Century with FREE Dining:dance3:!
==> R/T airfare on AirTran
==> I already have an AP:woohoo:

Total for me: about $525!

Thanks to the Transportation board, I was able to acquire (4) $25 off coupons for AirTran. By booking our flights as 2 one-ways, we can apply the coupons to each leg. That means we fly R/T from Detroit for a total of $95.20:banana:. AND, I have 4 A+ credits that will expire 10 days after our trip so I can use them to upgrade our flight down to Business Class:thumbsup2.

We'll arrive the day before my birthday so I will have a full day to celebrate:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1...:faint:. On top of that, we will be there in the middle of F&W. Last year was my first experience with F&W and we didn't get to really enjoy it because we had the kids with us. This time, we can take in the full experience.

The only problem is that DH has to take a weekend off of work. If he is unable to get the time off, I won't be able to go:sad1:. So, he is going to check tomorrow (at least he better remember!) and see if it is available.

I can't believe that I might get to spend my birthday in Disney World:cheer2:. Now, I just have to hope that the whole she-bang is still available when I am actually able to book it:wizard:. The only thing that could top it is if we happened to be one of those lucky folks that get pixie-dusted with an upgrade to SSR or OKWpixiedust:.

Sounds like a lot of fun....I hope it all falls into place for you!

How exciting! I hope it works out for you! :wizard:

So now since you have an AP, you won't need the free bday ticket...will you get the fun card or the fp's instead??

I hope you get to go! On top of your already good deals - you'll have the birthday gift card that you can spend on something fun for yourself! (or the kids or your husband for babysitting.) :goodvibes

I read the stuff you can get instead and I was a little bummed. I was hoping that the gift card could be used for food because I thought it would be nice to have a dinner at Jiko or Sanaa. That $70 in combination with the TIW card would have almost covered a nice meal.

Oh well...

The FP sounds interesting, but my friend is not a big rollercoaster fan so that would probably eliminate a few of the 6 choices. I don't know how much use we'd get out of it. It's also a shame that you cannot upgrade the 1-day pass that you get. That would have been great for our 2012 trip. So, I guess I will end up with the birthday fun card by default. It excludes so much stuff that I would like...dining, spa and alcohol! I'm sure I could find some nice souvies though so I am not complaining.

Yeah, just the other day I looked up the specifics for a friend on what the card could be used for and I was bummed and a bit surprised to see it can't be used at restaurants. Here's where I read about it in case you'd like to see: http://allears.net/tp/celebrate.htm

I would opt for the fun card because I love to shop in WDW! :)

The GOOD news: DH said the time off is available:banana:....
....the BAD news: He said if he takes it, he might not have enough vacation for our spring break trip next year with my parents:mad:.

He is just saying that because he does not understand why I want to go to Disney 3 times in 10 months (doesn't everybody:confused3;)) He doesn't want to go anyways and the kids are in school so they can't go so he will stay home with them. He always said he wants to be a SAHD. For 5 straight days, he will get his chance:laughing:. (FWIW, he gets 200 hours of vacation time a year and earns more time off for any overtime he works so he WILL have vacation time next year.)

Anyways....I'M GOING BACK!!!:dance3:

Oh, and the really great part is that the airfare dropped again today!! Now, we can fly r/t for........$80!!!:scared1::woohoo::cool1::banana:
