Birthday party ideas need?????

My dd will be 13....

We were going to bowl...but how did I know you have to book this months in advance...we have 2 weeks.....couldn't find a lane

Any ideas for a 13 year old girls birthday????

My brothers wife owns a nail salon and often does birthday parties. Maybe something like that would work for your DD.

When my daughter turned 13, we had a birthday dinner with about a dozen friends at a "wings" restaurant. The girls loved it, and it was easy on the budget - I asked each girl what kind of wings she liked and added them to the platters. We had several platters of wings and some side orders of fries. I brought a cake with the restaurant's permission.

Another option would be a dinner at a Japanese restaurant with a smaller group. We did that one year as a surprise for my daughter. She thought it was just going to be her brother, her and me, and the girls were waiting in the lobby for her.

We have several times, rented a hotel room with an indoor pool for my DD's birthday party. Younger siblings were there for cake and Ice cream and then went home. (The little ones swam when DD was out to dinner with her friends) Basically we had a sleepover at the hotel. the girls swam, We went out to the dinner of her choice, 2 years ago, We rented a room well 2 rooms at a local hotel with a great indoor pool. She was allowed to take 4 other girls. We checked in went to The Olive Garden, came back and swam, they had snacks and rented appropriate movies. We went out for breakfast the next morning and everyone was dropped off at home. I have done that sort of thing I think 3 times now.

I have also at these ages taken them out to dinner and sat away from them. I have done this at the 99, Chilis, and The Olive garden, all have been very good about seating me away from them, and providing info and of course the check back to my table.

Yes, dinner out can be on a smaller scale. This years party. My DD turned 17, she had lets see? 7 girls including her, To dinner at the Olive Garden, Her choice. All the girls ordered what they liked and they brought out a delicous chocolate cake, while the waitstaff sang. the total check with tip was around 72 dollars. I sat in another part of the restaurant with my brothers had an adult dinner, And went over to the girls when happy Birthday was being sung. It was cheap and they had a great time.

Well we just had a luau at our house today for DD's 11th birthday. Unfortuantly in your time frame you might had difficulty pulling that off. Last year the daughter of the principal at the elementary school turned 14 and he rented a limo to pick her and several of her friends up at school,take them to Huntsville (about a 30 minute ride), they went out to eat and then to the mall. The girls loved being picked up at school. The parents followed in their car. As the get older it does get harder to find things that doesn't break the bank.

For my 12yo DD's birthday I took her and 5 of her friends to the mall for 6 hours. We ate lunch and they shopped I thankfully thought to bring a CD player and a audio book so I was all set. They had a blast! Most of the girls brought some spending money but they did more looking than buying.

One of her friends did the same thing today but they didn't go for as long.

She's already said she wants to do it again next year but at a different mall. Oh joy

how about party at beauty school - they could get manicures or pedicures etc
take them to the movies could go out for ice cream or something afterwards

Only 3 ideas here...Are there any pottery painting places nearby? My daughter had a party at one last year. The girls all had a great time. The places like this around Milwaukee are always booked with parties.

My 2nd idea is there is a brand new bead shop in our area. They mention birthday parties in their ads. Haven't been there yet, but will be checking it out when I am in the area.

My last idea - do you have a ComedySportz near you? The troupe in Milwaukee does a "family" performance on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

if you have a big room like a family room or rec room with a tv or liveing room wherever you can fit lots of gals have a movie party. take them to the movie store and let them rent some movies. then you can order pizza and have ice-cream and popcorn and that sort of thing. then they can bring make-up and whatnot and do what they want. i loved to do makeovers and watch movies at my friends house all the time. they will have a blast!!

I'm looking into the hotel sleep over...but to get a decent rate under $75 I have to travel to allentown 1 hr...not bad still have to think about it...

Dinner out might be a good idea....

Luau sounds great but the past 2 yrs we did very invovled parties so I was thinking of some things less planning intensive for me.


found a pottery painting place..I'll try to call there also...sounds neat..

Nemo....unfortunatley I live in a small box of a house...no place to put even a couple of girls without us sitting next to them(somthing I think 13yrs wouldn't love)...

Keep in mind, When you do the hotel sleepover. You also have to budget in snacks, dinner and breakfast the next day. It can certainly add up to quite a bit. It was for us a $300 night. Sweet 16 was close to a thousand.

That was what I had budgeted for a big party, which she did not want.
So we... did 1 night at a local hotel. 2 rooms connecting 1 for her and friends and her brothers and I. $275
22 kids at Chilis that night for dinner, somewhere near $250?


Manicures times 4, the next am, 30 each, 150 with tip.
Breakfast $60
snacks night before and pizza late. $75
Lunch the next day, $50
and she got cash for her gift. It was a total stupid waste of money. this past years total was less than a 100 not including her gift. good thing sweet 16 only happens once!
