Hi All - Not sure if this is the correct place for this post or not, but will give it a shot.
My 9 year old daughter has requested a Disneyworld-themed pool party with her friends to celebrate her birthday. I'm trying to see what other creative/over-the-top people can come up with to help me turn my backyard into our own Happiest Place on Earth.
Here's what I have come up with so far:
- Invitiations will be sent out including our own Park Hopper pass.
- We will decorate our "eating area" to look like Chef Mickey's, complete with twirling our napkin over our heads to at least one song.
- I will create a couple life size images of the characters for photo-ops.
- We will be decorating Mouse Ears and Masks (a la Epcot).
- I will set up our own World Showcase. At each "country", there will an activity, a souvenir, and a stamp for their mask.
- We have a tree house on our swingset that I will enclose with black posterboard and glow-in-the-dark stars. I will also put streamers down the slides to try to make our own version of Space Mountain.
- Our pool area will be decorated with Ariel or Nemo pictures.
- We plan on doing some of the activities done at O'hanas - like our own "coconut" races, limbo, etc.
- Hidden Mickeys will be in our signs - with an extra souvenir for the kids if they find them all.
So, what do you think? I'd love to hear other ideas for how to transform my backyard into a magical place.
Thanks in advance!!!
