Birthday meal

We'll be at Disney World for my husband's 30th birthday. He doesn't exactly think that's magical, but I'm trying to make it that way. We're going to eat at Rose and Crown for lunch that day. If I mention that when I make my reservations, will they do anything special?

Any other dining suggestions for a birthday?

They may or may not. It's hit or miss. But you can order a cake for that meal and be certain it's special.

We just celebrated my DD 6th birthday at Disney and the best "birthday" meal for us was at Tony's! Le Cellier she got a birthday call from Goofy and Happy Birthday was written on her dessert. At CRT breakfast she got a tiny cake with a candle and a certificate. At PSB she got a Norway cookie and a birthday card signed by all the characters. At Scifi it was a candle thrown on my older DDs dessert, not impressed. At Tony's they had Mickey confetti on our table and announced her birthday and had everyone yell Happy Birthday with a big Italian kiss at the end all while twirling their napkins. She also got a free dessert.

I've heard that Chef Mickey's & Crystal Palace are nice for birthday celebrations but it might be more for kids.

If it were a celebration for my DH, I'd probably book something at the GF and then order one of their cakes...they are AMAZING!!

So did you tell them it was her birthday when you made your resort reservations? I've already done that part and didn't mention it.

And how do I find out more about the GF cakes?

As I made each ADR/PS I told them. I did tell the resort (CBR) but they didn't do anything. I think it depends on the CM working or the resort you stay at.

The GF has an amazing bakery. They do all the cakes and desserts for the weddings and the restaurants there.

I don't know a whole lot but I do know they have mini castle cakes for $25 and they have the Cinderella's Slipper for $14. They also have a white chocolate Mickey and/or tuxedo Strawberries as well.

They have all kinds of cakes. I've heard of them reproducing people's wedding cakes in a smaller size for their anniversary. I know they can do all kinds of birthday cakes with your DH's favorite character on it. Just call GF's main number and ask to talk to the GF bakery OR the restaurant you'd like to eat at to speak with someone about what you'd like to pre-order. They can give you some ideas. I believe they also will deliver a cake to one of the other monorail resort restaurants.

For my birthday last year, we ate at Brown Derby. They gave me this wonderful flourless chocolate cake that wasn't on the menu. It was wonderful. I am not the type that likes to have happy birthday sung so this was right up my alley. A couple of the staff told me Happy Birthday (my DH forced me to wear the button) but that was it. I had breakfast that morning with the princesses. Since my DS was celebrating his birthday in 3 days, they combined them and we both received cakes, certificates, and lots of confetti. It was truly magical!
