My daughter is turning 16 a week after our trip to WDW. This trip is somewhat of a celebration for her birthday just a little early because of school vacation timing. My questions:

1) Can we still have a special birthday celebration at WDW restaurants even though it is not technically her birthday?

2) Which restaurant does the most fun birthday celebration?

You can celebrate her birthday any day or every day of your trip (no one checks IDs to verify birthdates).

There's no guarantee that putting the celebration on the ADR will garner anything special. Though we got cupcakes at 'Ohana and personalized menus at Citricos when we were celebrating our anniversary on our last trip.

What about doing the Tea with her at Grand Floridian? My daughter is 18 and saw me looking at it on my computer and begged me to take her, lol. So I made an ADR for the two of us :)

We celebrated my sister's 18th birthday a week after her actual birthday at 1900 Park Fare, she did receive a cupcake and a place mat with the character's signatures. I did call for that reservation and the agent asked if there were any celebrations.

We celebrated my DD's 11th birthday 2 weeks early during our Thanksgiving week trip. She wore her Birthday pin every day and at every table service meal she received a special cupcake/dessert with a candle. I didn't have it notated on any of our ADR's when I made them but I guess we got lucky!

This is totally dependent on the server & is unpredictable. The only way to guarantee anything special is for you to order a cake ahead of time or buy one at the podium. Some restaurants have things other than cake you can order ahead of time. Try the official cake thread.

We celebrated my DH's 50th birthday last weekend, & I noted it on our ADRs. We ate at Le Bistro on his actual birthday, Hollywood Brown Derby, & Tony's Town Square. Tony's was the only place that acknowledged it. Our server brought him an ice cream sundae. He didn't wear a pin & it didn't disappoint us that the others didn't acknowledge it. If it was really important to me, I'd arrange & pay for something myself. That's the safest way to go about it. I hope your DD has a great Sweet 16.
