Hey all! Me and my wife and our son will be traveling to WDW this September and will be celebrating our sons 2nd birthday while we are there. I realize that he is still very little and probably won't remember a thing, but he really loves Mickey, Buzz, and Woody, and most things Disney. Plus we are getting an incredible deal that we just cannot pass up.

I wanted to do a character meal or special meal (no preference for breakfast, lunch or dinner) for his birthday, but I'm having trouble deciding on where to go. Chef Mickey's was our first choice, but I haven't been able to find any availability. Crystal Palace is probably out too, because my little guy isn't a big Winnie the Pooh fan. EPCOT is most likely out, but I'm open to suggestions.

I'm not entirely married to the idea of a character meal either. I guess I'm just looking for a fun atmosphere, good food options, that will do a little something special for our little guy. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance everyone!!

How about 1900 Park Fare in GF? Breakfast is Mary Poppins, Alice and Mad Hatter. Cinderella and her family is the dinner character meal there.

Or try Tusker House in AK for breakfast? It has Mickey, Donald, Daisy, & Goofy.

Personally, though, if you are looking for a fun experience, try 50's Prime Time Cafe for the fun waiters/waitress. This is my family's favorite 'theme' restaurant in the parks.

Tusker House for Breakfast (Mickey, Goofy, Donald and Daisy Duck)
Good food to boot! If you can't get an ADR, don't give up. I tried for 4 months with no luck: once I got to the hotel, I checked with the concierge, and she was able to find available space 3 of the 8 days I was there!

If you wanted to do a character meal, you could try Play & Dine at Hollywood & Vine or you could ho to Whispering Canyon Cafe and Wilderness Lodge. Tusker House in Animal Kingdom, Mickey is there sometimes for Breakfast.

What about 'Ohana breakfast? It has Mickey and has a huge advantage over the others in that it is not a buffet so you will be able to stay at the table and enjoy the time with your little one.
Although, I will add that my kids love the Crystal Palace. You could always use the time between now and September to brainwash him into liking Pooh and Friends......
For a non-character meal you might consider Coral Reef with the giant fish tanks; although it is at Epcot. 'Ohana and Whispering Canyon Cafe are a lot of fun, but they are very loud and may be too overwhelming for a 2 year old depending on the child.

What park do you plan to be in on his birthday?

Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House! If you want a quieter meal go for a late breakfast around 10:30am (I think that's the latest). The characters spend a bit more time as it is so empty.

I have to say if I was only doing one TS meal with a child that would be my pick. We had 13 TS meals last year. The buffet has a very large selection.
