Birthday ideas

Do the parks or the resorts do anything special for birthdays? At the Magic Kingdom you get a "Today is my birthday pin". Is there anything like that?

My son's a "big kid" - turning 19, but I still want to make a fuss on his birthday.

We're staying at PBH, and we'll be spending the day in the parks. We're having dinner at Tchoup Chops (his choice). But other than having a candle stuck in his dessert I don't have any birthday plans yet.

Any ideas?

It wouldn't be cheap, but a VIP tour would be a nice present.

The fountains a good choice espec if u can arrange it so that hes caught unawares

Thank-you for your ideas. A VIP tour is a great idea. That would certainly make him feel special on his birthday. Especially since he’s never been to IOA before. What a great way to see it for the first time.

The fountain idea is very intriguing. I would love to catch him off guard with this, but I don’t know much about the fountain. I’ve never actually seen it…just read about it. I’m not sure how to go about cluing in the “fountain people” on the sly. Since it’s just the 2 of us I don’t have anyone to help me “get rid of him” for a little while so I can set it up. I’ll try to think of something, because I think it would be hilarious. He’s never seen the fountain, so he doesn’t even know it talks. Maybe the VIP tour people could help.

The fountain attracts mostly kids, but if your son stands in front of the fountain and talks, you might want to "slip out" that it is his birthday.

The Hard Rock Cafe will make a spectacle for him too. Employees will stand on tables and announce it to the whole restaurant, and then everyone sings.

For the fountain why not enquire at guest services if they can help just tell your son u r getting maps and get him to look in gift shop I am sure a helpful staff member will help u and as for only attracting kids we are all big kids in the parks
