Any birthday party ideas for a 5 y/o "Princess" who is getting a WDW trip for her birthday? (Her birthday will fall on day six of a one week trip). I have read about making sure the Disney staff is advised, but I'd certainly appreciate any suggestions or experiences for actual party ideas, as planning seems to be the key to these vacations. There are four of us, all first-time WDW visitors, staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas from February 4-11th.

Any ideas would be appreciated! Thank-you for such an informative and fun website!!!

P.S. I have PS for Cinderella's Breakfast (day 2) and Norway Castle Princess Breakfast (Day 4), but her birthday is not until Day 6......if that helps determine a "strategy"! :)

When you go to the MK make sure you pick up a b-day button for her at Town Hall- she'll get special attention all day with that thing on! Also- any PS's you make- on her specific b-day or not- be sure to mention it- they usually do special things at the restaurants too. We celebrated my DD 18 b-day last year at WL and when I made the reservations, I told them we were celebrating it- there was a cake , balloons and a card signed by here favorite characters (Mickey & Minnie) waiting in the room for us. How about a special b-day dinner at a character meal- ohhhhhhhhh-- sooooooooo special!!!

We took our DD for her birthday last summer when she turned six. Try and get a ps for Cinderella's Royal table. They really went out of their way to make her feel special. They had the table decorated for her with Mickey confetti and ballons. Each character wrote happy birthday in her autograph book. She wore her Cinderella costume and the pictures are adorable. SHe's still talking about it! Make sure that you get a birthday button at City Hall and mention that you are celebrating her birthday when you make your PS and then again when you arrive at the resturants. Another place that was great was the Ice Cream Social at the Land in Epcot. They brought her a cake as well as a certificate that was signed by all of the characters. I hope that your princess has as magical a time as mine did. You will all have such a great time. Enjoy!

You've already got the "cream of the crop" with those breakfasts!
Well done!

The other ideas are great... you may want to call ahead to WL & just mention your DD's birthday, maybe they'll provide a little special surprise, or you can arrange something to be there in your room when you arrive (at a cost, of course). I would trust the resort to provide a nice little surprise.

Have a great time, and let us know how it went.

If $$$ is not an issue, how about renting an Illuminations birthday cruise? We will be renting one in December for my sister's 20th birthday. I believe it is the same as the regular cruise (1 hour, 10 person pontoon boat and great view of Illuminations). Normally that is $120 but they can decorate the boat and have a birthday cake and I believe that is $220. Check out this link:

Hope this helps!!

Thank-you for the great replys! This is really a super forum, with so many friendly, experienced people helping make the Disney vacation better for others. As a rookie, my next step is to post some more questions for you "vets", as I'd be crazy not to take advantage of this resource!!! Thanks again!
