I'm going to be celebrating my 21st birthday at Disneyland and want to go someplace good(but affordable) for dinner. I'm not thinking anything too fancy, but not a counter service. A nice sit-down place where I can get my first drink(you know...the alcohol variety). So if you were celebrating a birthday on a budget, where would you go? Anywhere in the parks, Downtown Disney, or Garden Walk?

If you are going to Disneyland for your 21st birthday, then have dinner somewhere in Disneyland or in one of the hotels. My choice would be Wine Country Trattoria. Decent food AND serves alcohol. Sit on the patio next to the outside wall. We had my Mother's Day late lunch there. My DD and I had salad and my DH had one of the lasagnas. Everyone had a glass of wine.

I second the wine country! The food is yummy and the atmosphere is very nice! I think they may serve wine :)

For my wife's birthday last year we went to the cove bar for a lunch drink and appetizer, and then walked over to the Grand Californian (using the DCA entrance :) ) and then we had a really yummy dinner at Storytellers. The price was average- anywhere from $15-$30ish. you can order from the menu or they have a buffet. It is a really nice cozy place, and they have a yummy yummy yummy pomegrante martini lol

The cove bar is right at Ariel's Grotto. I didn't think there was much special about it and when we went the service was slow. The drinks were yummy though! But it's more of a bar with just appetizers, rather than a sit down dinner experience

No, I have not been to the Cove Bar, so all my info comes only from what I have learned on this board. To me, it just screems "21st birthday at Dinsney", come on it is a bar and all (yes I know within reason, it is in family friendly disney). Anyhow it is in DCA around the same area as Ariels Grotto. I have read that their lobster nachos are really good. You can find their (and every place else) menu here http://allears.net/dlr/din/menu/menus.htm#dl or at the sticky at the top of the dis disney page. It looks to serve mostly appatizers and drinks, but I personally LOVE appatizers for dinner

In case you are not aware, there is NO WHERE in Disneyland that serves alcohol (except Club33 which is a private club). This narrows your selections to DCA or DtD.

I personally like Rainforest Cafe.

Well yes I am aware, but thank you.

I"m not sure about you, but when I turned 21 I DID NOT want wine!!!
I would want some fancy shmancy mixed drink that had whipped cream on top....lol
For that I would probably go to Rainforest Cafe or if you like beer or the sportsy environment I would go with ESPN....both are fun!
have a great time!

I suggest Cheesecake Factory at the Gardenwalk. They serve all kinds of drinks there plus the food is great. Especially if you like pasta. They serve other things too but when i go there i usually order pasta.

Another vote for the RFC. YUM, they have some of the BEST drinks there......get the Green Python, it's so good!!!!! I think that's what it's called......lol

Yeah I don't really want wine, I can have that at home. I'm not looking to get crazy tipsy either though, don't get me wrong lol. How's the food at Rainforest? I want to eat good food too :)

Yeah I was really leaning toward going to Garden Walk I think. We have a Cheesecake factory near us but we never go, and I do know they have a great drinks menu. This is definitely on the list.
Might be nice to leave Disneyland for a little bit for dinner.

I love the food at RFC. But I know there are people who don't. DBF and I get the spinach dip appetizer and then we share a Maya's Combo. It's more than enough food for us share, we are both perfectly full by the time we are done. :) And really, that drink I mentioned is super good. It's got Midori in it so it's slightly sour.

Yeah. it also good to leave Disneyland for a little bit. I'd like to try a new place for a birthday dinner. For me i usually find restaurants that i haven't tried yet so i get an experience of different places.

Yeah I've been looking into it. There's a place in Garden Walk called Bar Louie that looks interesting. I'll need to look up reviews.

I want to suggest Uva Bar. It is a circular bar in the very center of DTD. It is both private, but fun to people watch. It is outside so you can sit and relax in the sun or under the stars depending on when you go. The food is somewhat simple but good. The Pomme Frittes, Pizza and Hummus platter are all great. The prices are not insane and they have a full bar with very tasty drinks. Uva bar is our favorite place to meet friends!

Jazz Kitchen is another great option. Good food and drinks. Personally I would not choose RFC cause it seems to kiddy to me, but I am not a big fan of the place in general.

If you want two drink stops ;) Yes, stop at the Cove Bar and have the Riptide tea (I think thats the name its pretty pink!), it is yummy and one will make you feel good hahahah! Just don't do Scream'n after two of them :lmao:

I've haven't seen Bar Louie yet. I did go to their website and checked out their menu and photos of it. It sure does look niice. That place can be good too. If you do choose this place I'd like hear your opinion about it.
:D
