I'm having a hard time deciding on this...I need to decide where to have dinner on my birthday. I'm second guessing my original ADRs and there have been some other issues that have turned everything upside down.

Suggestions PLEASE. Party of 5 : me, DH, MIL and two DS one age 11 the other age 8. I really want to use a resort TS now as I otherwise would have to purchase an admission ticket for MIL just for dinner. We will be on the DP and will be staying at AKL.

I really don't want anyone singing happy birthday to me, but I want to enjoy dinner, have some wine, linger with coffee.

I'm thinking Jiko's, but have never been there. My children behave pretty well, especially if they are in a booth or at a table off the side. A table in the middle--forget it. Is Jiko's child tolerant? Is it worth 2 TS credits?

If not, where would a better place be? I was thinking maybe Kona cafe. We have ADR for Kona for the following night, though so I would need to find a replacement for it

Opinions? Suggestions?

TIA.

I just celebrated my b-day memorial day weekend at the world and I chose Yachtsman Steakhouse (myself, dh, dd, ds (13) And we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was among the best ive experienced at a Resort restaurant. No singing or embarrassment at all. My dh did order me a cake which they forgot, however we were all so stuffed no one would have eaten it. The Server did bring out a nice smaller complimentary dessert with one candle in it, which was very kind, but not embarrassing singing or anything.
Another suggestion would be Citricos at GF, ate there last year, had an amazing meal.
Jiko is another really great dining experience. All of these places are well worth the 2 credits. Jiko is wonderful and very tolerant of children, as are all disney restaurants. If you are staying at AKL and want to stick closer to the resort, definitely try Jiko, I dont think you will be disappointed. Happy Birthday, Im sure you will enjoy wherever you decide to eat, how could it be bad, celebrating it in disney????

We have had two excellent birthdays with cake deliveries at Spoodles.

We are celebrating my Mom's birthday in WDW on August 18. We are actually surprising her with the trip so its been hard to pick a place to eat since we can't askher where she wants. We celebrated Mother's Day at Jiko 3 years ago with my Dd who was 4 at the time. It was wonderful. My Dd is great at restaurants so it was not even an issue but they were friendly to her and she had a good time. I thought about celbrating her birthday there but my now older DD went " yuck.. what is african food?" I told her mac and cheese is the same everywhere but she vetoed the place so we picked Alfredo's since my mom love Italian. Anyway.. I would pick Jiko in a heartbeat. It was some of the best food I had ever had. They had this creme brulee that I have thought about going back to get to take out. Now I am hungy...
