How about Carmine's? It's right in Times Square and has amazing family-style Italian food.

Convenient location, excellent food, and the prices are really reasonable. Since it's family style, you can just order a few plates to share; we always end up with tons of food and having spent way less than most places in the city.

If you go, try the Carmine's Salad - it's awesome.

Just back last nite from NYC and was amazed at the price increases since our last vist one year ago. In a time when one might think they would be trying to stimulate the economy..such was not the case!

Serendipity was mentioned..it's very mediocre and pretty costly. Young people seem to enjoy it though. Mars is so touristy and gimmicky and Ellen's Stardust..yuck. Tavern on the Green is a little less costly for Brunch and pretty.

Del Frisco's Steakhouse is very good but also expensive.

Wish I could suggest somewhere good and reasonable but I am so disappointed after this trip I am drawing a blank. Sadly..

We went to Carmines too..it was pretty good.

Our favorite is Landmarc - either in Time-Warner or Tribeca...two totally different feels. Both with fabulous food. Highly recommend.
