Help please! I'm going back and forth and back again trying to decide on a dinner for my son's 5th birthday. We are going to do Chef Mickey's for breakfast, spend a second day at MK and then I'd like a "special" dinner somewhere. We will have {hopefully!} already eaten at Ohana and Whispering Canyon as a family earlier in the trip, CA Grill for date night the night before.

Thanks!

Isn't that a lot like Whispering Canyon in terms of food?

Well, if Disney Springs is a possibility my son at that age loved T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe

What type of food does your son like and what parks do you plan to spend the most time at?

Normal kid food, not a ton of veggies. ;) Chicken, grilled, fried, roasted just about any way. Steak/beef. Pizza, Mexican, nothing super spicy.

Mickey's Backyard Barbecue maybe. My daughter loved Rainforest Café and T Rex at that age, but every kid is different and only you know.
I would say Sci Fi, but you didn't say if you were going to have park hoppers or.....

I think Hoop Dee Do would be fun for a boys bday. Its a totally different experience from Whispering Canyon. Why not narrow down your choices and have him pick? :) Maybe HDDR, Tusker House, SciFi.

Hoop Dee Doo is a lot of fun, but, I think you are right - the food is sort of in the same genre as WCC.

You are already doing many of the "special" restaurants. Perhaps stay in MK and go to CP? Or, instead of a special dinner, perhaps just a meal somewhere followed by the Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise?

Beaches and Cream.
Coral Reef? The food was average, but watching the fish is so much fun

My trip planner suggested the fireworks cruise, but I think it's a MVMCP day, won't the fireworks not be as "cool" as the regular HEA? We are going to the party our first day.

I thought about that, he loves aquariums!

HEA is more about the castle projections than the fireworks, IMHO, but if you are already seeing Holiday Wishes during the party, there's probably no point in seeing them again on the Pirates and Pals cruise.

Will you be doing any of the other evening shows? If your DS likes Star Wars, maybe consider the Star Wars Galactic Spectacular party?

If he loves aquariums, Coral Reef might be a great choice!
