Birthday Celebration ideas

Hello folks

I have three ladies in my family celebrating birthdays. My wife, my oldest DD turning 16 & my youngest DD turning 10.

I looked at doing an Illuminations cruise, but $350 for 4 people is a little steep.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Would love to do the cruise though.

The Illuminations Cruise is pricey. It's nice. We did it once, sharing it with another family we knew that was visiting at the same time, but I don't know that I would say it was worth that steep cost if I was doing it just for my family.

A pirate and pals cruise might be fun. I think they have those that aren't private or how about the Wishes Dessert Party?

Or an evening at La Nouba?

We did an Illuminations Celebration Cruise on my DD's 13th birthday. It was wonderful. We shared it with friends of ours who were staying at BCV the same time we were. (They were a family of 4, as we are, so we fit fine on the boat).

One thing I know people here on the DIS do is book a cruise, and then advertise the date, looking for a fellow DISboard member & family to join them and split the cost. That way, you only pay half.

If you do decide to do the cruise, I suggest making it a "Celebration Cruise". For a fee (it wasn't that much as I recall), the boat will be decorated with a banner, balloons, etc. I also arranged ahead of time to have a b-day cake delivered to the boat. It was great!....nothing like singing Happy B-day and eating cake while docked and waiting for Illuminations to begin!

when my cousin turned 11 while we were in the park, we ahd a party fro them right in the park. At DL,(idk about WDW) there are birthday parties that you can have, amd theyr'e really cool! Your host is Pat E. Cake (get it?), and very special guests come to visit you on your special day- mickey and minne! you get to decorate you own personel cake and open presents and the whole deal. it's really cool. Idon't know how much it costs though. You'd have to look that up
