Hi All --

I am taking my daughter for her first trip to Disney, she will be 4yrs old. We are going in February 2003. I have heard people in the past tell me how Disney makes birthdays special. what should I be looking for, doing, in preparation of my trip next February. We will be staying on our BWV home, 2 adults 2 children(1 1/2 yrs, 4 yrs) abd both grandparents will be going and staying at BWV in separate studios.

Any help is appreciated. -- I want to make this special form y daughter. Pleae reply or email me@ briand1023@cox.net

Thanks - Brian

I am also looking for Birthday ideas. We will be at OKW for my daughter's 1st b-day (also in Feb. 2003).

I mentioned that it was my DD's b-day when we made the reservations. I've also read that you should fax the hotel prior to check-in.

We just celebrated my son's 2nd birthday at WDW and also stayed at the BWV. I highly recommend a character breakfast or dinner at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. They food was great and plentiful. They take a group photo of your party on arrival, which is then offered to you at a reasonable price in the forms of 2- 8x10 photos and 2 fridge magnet photos. When you make reservations, tell them you are celebrating a birthday and the birthday boy or girl gets a special birthday placemat, cupcake(even at breakfast) and pin that states that "today is my Birthday." It is the same pin that they give at the Town Hall at MK. All of the characters paid our son extra attention and stood near him when they sang the celebration song while twirling napkins. It was a wonderful way to kick off my son's birthday. We loved it so much that I opted to go back to Chef Mickeys to celebrate my 30th birthday a week later.

Also, although it is not a guarantee, the BWV put an autographed photo of Minnie and Mickey with attached balloons in our room during our stay. They were not in our room on the exact day, but that actually made it that much more of a surprise when they arrived a few days later. Just make certain that you have MS put that guest is celebrating a birthday on your reservation.

Hope this helps and have a wonderful trip and magical birthday for your child.

We're heading to WDW this Saturday. We won't be able to visit the MK that day to see the fireworks at night so I reserved a Birthday Cruise a few months ago to view the fireworks by boat and to celebrate my son's 4th birthday and my wife's birthday. Though it is quite costly (I've been saving my spare change for some time), the boat does hold 12 and the cake feeds the same. We're taking my sister-law and her family and my in-laws which fills the boat and made it a rather inexpensive party...considering the view.
Enjoy and Happy Birthday!

We are leaving next Thursday for OKW to celebrate DD's 9th birthday! We can't wait!!:Pinkbounc

Like the others said, Chef Mickey's is the best! We have celebrated 3 birthdays there. When and if you call to make a PS let them know that you are celebrating your child's birthday.

What we are planning to do as well, is order a birthday cake for our DD. They don't write anything on it, however, you can pick a picture of either Mickey or Minnie (maybe others) and it's on the cake. The cost is about $16 if I'm not mistaken. (My husband usually takes care of all the details)
;)

I do know that when you make you PS, let the CM know you would like to order a cake and they will give a phone number to call and you can order the cake up to 24 hours in advance.

Have a wonderful time and what a better place than WDW to celebrate your birthday!!:teeth:
