I have reserved the 'birthday celebration' for Goofy's Kitchen this week for my daugther's 5th birthday. However I have been told that just the staff comes over to sing for her...not the characters
:( I'm guessing that this is the 'procedure', but I'm thinking that maybe they will find their way over to a birthday child? As anyone been there? Can you tell me if the characters took the time to see the birthday child?

Is there another birthday location that you would recommend over the Goofy's Kitchen, that will maybe include charcters, for sure?

THANKS!!!

I have never had a birthday experience at Goofy's so I cant help you there but here is something that you may also want to do that day...

We just celebrated my son's 3rd birthday yesterday at DL. We had a lot of fun at the Plaza Inn birthday party celebration. I would highly recommend it. It is little party where everyone gets a small undecorated cake and punch in a souvenier cup. There is a host who sings and tells jokes while you decorate your cake.
Then Mickey and Minnie come and they dance around with the birthday celebrants and everyone can take a picture with both of them. It costs $9.99 per person.
I liked it because it was fun and festive and I know nowhere else at Disneyland where you can get a picture with BOTH Mickey and Minnie together.
One tip: sit in the shade!!

We saw a number of kids celebrating birthdays at Goofy's and it looked like there was always at least one character there for the birthday song. I think I even heard the server ask which character the birthday child wanted. And there are usually a pretty fair number of characters at Goofy's, and a pretty good range too.

My DD celebrated her 6th birthday there (nearly 4 years ago) and the characters were all OVER her. Snow White led us in singing Happy Birthday. She spent TONS of time with my daughter and they really made it special for her. :)

My DD spent the morning of her 7th birthday (2 years ago) being surprised at Goofy's Kitchen. Goofy brought her cupcake to her and the whole section sang Happy Birthday to her. It was terrific. The table was decorated with balloons and such, so everyone from the server to the other characters, to folks at other tables knew to wish her a Happy Day. They even wrote Happy Birthday in her autograph book for her.

Highly reccomend it, and am just SURE one of the characters will be there.

The Characters at Goofy's kitchen ALL come around to the tables, when you eat there, regardless of birthday or not. So I would imagine that you will see all the characters. When I was there a few weeks ago there it seemed that there was at least one character when the CM's were their to sing Happy Birthday.

We too did the Plaza Birthday and it was so much fun, Well worth the $10.

I took my niece to Goofy's in December. We weren't planning on doing the birthday thing since she's 12 and "too old" for it. Our server found out it was a birthday trip, though not her actual birthday, and arranged an impromptu birthday celebration. He brought her a cupcake and made her a dress out of a tablecloth then he brought both Goofy and Pluto over to sing to her. It was quite amusing.
