We will be at WDW for hubby's bday and I want to have a cake in our room.

I'm assuming that I won't be able to have one delivered to CBR, right? (If there are any options for having this done, please let me know.)

I was thinking of heading over to the Boardwalk Bakery to pick up a cake. Would I be better off pre-ordering? Or do they have a good selection that we could choose from on hand and ready for purchase? If we bought on-site, would they be able to do any kind of decorating (probably just writing Happy Birthday or something simple)?

Thank you!

First, I would try calling the cake hot line and see what they can do for you. There is a # for each resort so maybe they can help you even at CBR:

5/29/07: DINE: New "Cake Hotline" for Guests requesting celebratory cakes at most Table Service dining locations. The Cake Hotline number is 407-827-2253 and requires 48 hours notice. Guests may request a 6-inch cake(non-personalized) upon arrival at the podium for $12.50+tax (no advance notice required).

Then, depending on the answer you get from them, you could go from there and get something at Boardwalk Bakery if you have to.

Good luck.

Ok, I finally just decided to call since it seems that nobody really knows for sure. (Thanks beattyfamily for the response and the number which just made me finally call and ask.)

So, I called the hotline and then 8 for CBR and 5 for Shutters and then I got a voicemail. So I left a message.

Not 15 minutes later, someone called back. Very nice girl/woman. (I'm 36 and still a girl, so everyone is a girl to me.)

Yes, they can deliver to the room. The CBR cakes are from the Boardwalk Bakery. They have chocolate, vanilla and marble cake with various fillings and frostings.

The girl I spoke with was calling from CBR Food & Beverage and gave me their direct number so I can call back in November to order the cake. She said to order at least 48 hours in advance and up to a month prior. And that when calling I should ask to speak with a food manager or chef.

That's wonderful news! Before this cake hot line, many resorts didn't have the ability to have cakes delivered so that's great news for you.

Glad it all worked out. :goodvibes
