Birthday Cake -order from restaurant or main switchboard?

Hi everyone! I want to order a birthday cake for my DH. We'll be eating at Rose & Crown. I have read here and on wdwig.com to call restaurant directly and to call main switchboard. I am not sure which is the right one. Also, saw that they are $16.00 from main switchboard. Does anyone know how big they are? (sorry for all of the questions, my search function hasn't not been working all week )

When I was making ADR's the other day I told them I wanted to order a cake and the CM asked which restaurant I wanted the cake at and she gave me a special number to call. The CM told me they needed at least 48 hours notice. Hope that helps

You are much better off calling the restaurant directly. You can get various sizes and flavors, depending on where you will be eating. If you call Disney Dining they should be able to give you any phone numbers you need, I would think.

Last Thursday, a group of us celebrated a friend's birthday when we lunched at Kona Cafe at the Polynesian. I had called in Disney Dining in advance to ask about a cake. A 6" cake, which will feed 4-5, is available without pre-order for $12.50. Just tell your server upon arrival that you need a birthday cake. It had some strawberries on it & what they called a chocolate wafer with a picture of Mickey on it. They also wrote Happy Birthday & my friend's name on it. There were 4 of us & we only ate 1/2 of the cake.

You can also pre-order an 8" cake. With that, I believe you can choose your cake flavor, fillings, etc... You can also chose from different characters on top. It costs $28, and must be ordered 48 hours in advance.
