Birthday Cake Help!

I have seen these posts here and I always ignore them because it's not something I thought I'd ever need! LOL However, yesterday was my husbands birthday. We agreed he didn't need presents because we'll be at Disney next Saturday. BUT I FORGOT THE CAKE TOO!!!! And he is a cake maniac! I felt like such a bad wife!

So here I am asking about cake. Can you have a birthday cake delivered to your room (we're at POR)?? I don't really want a big basket or anything....just cake and maybe balloons. And if so, is it worth the $$ I'm sure they'll charge?!

Disney Florist?? Anybody else?? Is it yucky cake?? Can it be delivered to the room? Help!!!

I believe there's a "Disney Cake" sticky at the top of the Disney Restaurants thread on these boards. I know you can order a cake to one of their restaurants.

jazz0007 -- I ordered a cake for my son's birthday in November. Pretty easy, though a bit expensive. This post has the most relevant information (who to call, what your options are, etc.): http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=40915753&postcount=2401

From there, you can sort of leisurely peruse the thread to see photos of the types of cakes others have ordered as well as what they paid for them. If you don't need anything super-custom, another option would be to just pick up a cake at one of the onsite bakeries, like Boardwalk Bakery or the Main Street Bakery.

We seem to order a cake every year we visit(someone always seems to be having a birthday when we go). The cakes are awesome, no disappointments. Yes, cakes could be cheaper, but you can also find a place to stay offsite that is cheaper, you can also find places offsite that are cheaper, you definitely can find a cake offsite that is cheaper.
