I'm off to Disney World tomorrow! Hurray!

It will be my birthday later in the week. I seem to recall that there is something special one is supposed to do if it's your birthday -- get a badge or something?

I'm also wondering if any of the restaurants (onsite or off) do anything special for birthdays. (This is an adult birthday, not a child's.)

I'll probably go to Epcot on my birthday, but I could go somewhere else if they do something special on people's birthdays. I'll use my laptop to check back here in a day or two to see if anyone has any tips for me. Thanks in advance!

DH went and got his birthday button at the town hall. A few people had posted that the CM's sort of frowned on adults getting them, but the CM we had thought it was great.

We didn't eat at a formal place as we did a 5 hour tour and then I don't remember what we did for supper because we did a fireworks cruise. He did get many, many happy birthdays from cast members and guests.

I got my birthday button at the Magic Kingdom and just a few special things that happened where that The Dapper Dans saw mine and my friend's buttons and serenaded us on Main Street, then at lunch at Crystal Palace I got a cupcake with a candle in it and also a card signed by the Pooh gang. Just all the Happy Birthdays I got from wearing it was special enough. It's a lot of fun.

I would get the button and not expect too much, goodness knows I was not expecting to have the Dapper Dans sing Happy Birthday to me in the middle of Main Street but surprises like that just happen and I hope that special things will happen for you on your birthday too! :)

If you stop at guest relations at any park they can give you a birthday button. It was fun being wished Happy birthday by the CM's. They sang happy birthday to me at Prime time. I got a magical moment at Journey into your imag. It was fun but I wasn't counting on anything happening so it was all great.

I have been in the World for my last two birthdays, and I love wearing the pin. I get lots of Happy Birthdays, the most special was from Burt, when he was walking arm in arm with Mary Poppins near the Carousel. For some reason it just warmed my heart when he tipped his hat and wished my a Happy Birthday.
As others mentioned though, don't expect anything, so that whatever happens can be a happy surprise, and you aren't disappointed. I know CRO has it in the computer that it is my birthday, because it has been mentioned to me when I call to make PS for that night. This year we went to Ohana's. When we arrived, (unbeknownst to me) dh told them it was my birthday and asked for a table in the main dining room near the windows for fireworks view. They even wrote it down on the slip that it was my birthday. We saw them sing to two other tables, but no mention was ever made of our occasion. Weird huh? Dh was bummed, but actually I was relieved when he told me, I have never liked the restaurant singing thing, LOL! (Maybe that's why he did it, LOL! We did get the table we wanted though)
Like I said, expect nothing, and enjoy the little magic, like a tip of the hat from Burt. :teeth:

We went for ds's 2nd birthday. He got his pin and wore it all day. EVERYBODY wished him a happy birthday and the Dapper Dans sang (and made everyone around us who were also waiting for the parade) sing Happy Birthday to him. A CM gave him a free mickey head on a stick ice cream!! He was so excited = ) It was really cute.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I just got back from Disneyworld and had a great trip!

As it turned out, I was so tired on my birthday that I didn't go to any of the main parks. I still had a very good day, though.

This turned out to be a great time of year to visit "the World", even though the weather was colder than usual. So, I'm hoping to go again on my next birthday, and I'll see about getting my birthday button then.

Thanks everyone!
