Hi, Can anyone tell me about any specials that Disney may offer if you are there on your birthday? I heard about the birthday button and that the characters say happy birthday to you. thanks!!

we went back in 2011 and it was close to my birthday. That was all that really happened to me. The other guests also say happy birthday.
I do not think they give free tickets anymore, but I found this link on the WDW page. They will not let me paste it fully here.

Hope it helps.

I think there was a promotion a few years ago that allows you free entry on your birthday. I wish they would bring that back. I'm going on my birthday next year :)

We rec'd free desserts 2x when we were wearing our "happy anniversary" buttons in August and my daughter rec'd free dessert on her birthday wearing her "happy anniversary" button on her actual birthday.

I was with my best friend and her 2 kids when one of them was celebrating a birthday. I remember they let us ride Thundermountain 2 times in a row because he was wearing his button. Can't remember much else.

I wore a birthday button in November (my birthday was in November as well)...and I just got a lot of happy birthdays from CM's and guests. No free desserts since we were on the dining plan and desserts are included...

Although, my friend booked everything and told the hotel that it was my birthday. We got to our room and there was a special birthday greetings from some of the characters! Also we were in a store (where they were selling painting) at Epcot near the exit, and the CM had a special birthday message from Goofy because he saw my button. And my friend was wearing her Happy Ending button and there was a special just married message for her too....

I've gone on my actual birthday three times and have never gotten more then people wishing me a happy birthday. It got so annoying that I only wear the pin the actual day, not my entire trip. My nephew has also celebrated his actual bday there, at our breakfast at crystal palace he got a card signed by the gang and a cupcake (we told them it was his bday on the reservation). At the hotel I asked them to send a card with balloons to the room and they did for no cost, they even sent a caribbean beach chocolate.

How acceptable is it to celebrate a week early? We will be in WDW 11/9- 11/14, and my actual b day is 11/21. Thanks!

We were there the week of my nephews 3rd birthday a few years ago and he just got a lot of Happy Birthdays from the CM's. A couple of places, Chef Mickey's and one other character meal, but I can't remember where, brought him out a cupcake with a candle. But like I said, this was a few years ago, so I don't know if they are still doing it.

A cupcake seems do-able. But how big are the actual birthday cakes that you can order? Seems like it might be too much to do a sit-down meal, *and* try to eat a cake (and then rush back to rides in the heat of the summer...)

We went for my dads 50th two years ago and you can order cakes ( they are 8in round) ahead of time but honestly for the cost of $55 it wasn't worth it at all - you can ask them for a cupcake and they do it for free

In jan we were celebrating my dd 5 th bday. I mentioned it when making room and dinner reservations. She got cupcakes at almost every ts meal -- she got 3 at Ohana!!! At akherus and cp she got a special bday card signed by characters.

Lots of cms would say "happy birthday princess!!" Which she would demurely say thank you and wave.

She did wear her pin the whole two week vacation (even had a mini meltdown when we forgot it in the room but at quick thinking cm in hotel lobby made her another one .

A few characters made a big deal for her -- ESP tigger abd pooh in the uk as pooh pointed to her pin and began to conduct us all in singing happy birthday while tinkerbell and periwinkle wished her a happy arrival day :)

Hubby and I went on our birthdays (9th & 10th) when they were doing the free ticket thing. We both got free desserts and they sang to us in one of the restaurants.

We almost always travel in August to some sort of Disney place and that is a week after my daughters birthday, and 2 weeks before my other daughters birthday and the same week as our wedding anniversary! I always note it in my resveration. At Disney Hilton head the girls starred at he TV over and over again to see all the birthday names come up on the hotel channel! They also had voicemails wishing them happy birthday on the hotel phone, the kids loved that.
